Chapter 42 Braised Duck Products

"Miaomiao, are you making delicious food again this time?"

Susan followed behind Ling Miao, her face wrinkling as she looked at the large bag of 'scraps' that Ling Miao and she were carrying.

It wasn't that she looked down on "leftovers," but they didn't have much meat, and they weren't as nutritious as pork bones when boiled.

What flavor can you get from the bits of meat hanging on these scraps?

I'm afraid it'll be gone before I can even savor the flavor.

Not only Susan was puzzled, but the others who were with her were also suspicious.

What flavor can you get from bones that aren't even enough to fill your teeth with meat?

Ling Miao was very confident, but she also maintained an air of mystery.

"You'll find out soon enough."

"By the way, are you going back?"

Several people shook their heads at the same time. Avril spoke first: "Today's classes are finished. We don't have two classes until tomorrow afternoon."

Kerry and his companion nodded.

Cong Yue didn't speak; he stared at the bag in his hand with a bitter expression.

Inside are the ingredients I bought.

To share the burden with Ling Miao and Susan, everyone contributed a little.

At that moment, he could see the prepared 'ingredients' inside through the gap in the bag.

The ingredients this time are mostly duck, and most of them are joint parts or parts of the duck with little meat.

He was carrying duck necks in his hand.

The long duck necks were tied together, with no meat and an unappealing appearance.

Cong Yue really didn't know what kind of delicious food he could make.

If it weren't for Ding Yi'en and the three bowls of wontons he had just eaten, he would have given up long ago.

Anyway, he doesn't expect anything like that.

He would never eat it, even if you killed him.

He pursed his lips, then turned his gaze to Snooker, who was traveling with him.

This person didn't talk much, and walked slowly, just like him, swaying at the back.

"Hey, we've been chatting for so long, what's your name?"

Snooker slowly looked up and glanced at Cong Yue. "Snooker."

"Tsk"

Cong Yue looked at the aloof Snooker, realizing it was the first time he had met someone even more arrogant than him.

Before he could say anything more, the other person had already quickened their pace and caught up with him.

Okay.

Cong Yue shook his head and followed them into Ling Miao's house.

The braising broth is an essential element in the preparation of braised dishes.

So as soon as she entered the house, Ling Miao went straight to the kitchen and found two large iron buckets in the corner.

He looked at the iron bucket and nodded in satisfaction.

This scene further convinced the others of their own thoughts.

It is indeed a stewing or boiling type of food.

I wonder what kind of soup these bones can be made into.

The group was somewhat bored, but under Ling Miao's direction, they began to clean the ingredients in a rather professional manner.

After they had finished cleaning the ingredients, they suddenly smelled a strong aroma.

A rich, spicy aroma, a blend of various spices, swept over the area with overwhelming force.

Unlike ordinary fragrances, it boldly and unequivocally proclaims its existence to everyone.

"It smells so good!"

Ding Yi'en took a deep breath. "What's this smell?"

"It's coming from that bucket."

Avril stretched her neck curiously, somewhat eager to try.

"This is the braising liquid."

After checking the cleaned ingredients, Ling Miao threw them into the bucket one by one.

"Hey, why did you put those things in the soup?"

"Isn't it soup to drink?"

Susan was a little curious.

Ling Miao shook her head, somewhat amused, "That stuff would be so salty you'd die from taking a bite."

"I cooked two pots, this one is spicy and the other one is not spicy."

So what we actually ate were those duck parts?

Cong Yue looked thoughtfully at the simmering broth.

Ling Miao raised an eyebrow and readily nodded.

Actually, it's not just duck products; everything can be braised.

Meat or vegetables, chicken, duck, beef—there's nothing that can't be braised, and it might even taste better that way.

However, cooking a variety of things requires more careful observation from the cook.

After all, some ingredients will not taste good if overcooked.

But for her, duck products are still the most to her liking.

Ling Miaoguang couldn't help but swallow her saliva just thinking about the taste of duck neck.

Braised food, her favorite!

Tear off a piece of fragrant and spicy duck neck meat; the slightly dry duck meat, after cooling, is firm and chewy.

The duck parts, simmered in the braising liquid, were infused with flavor in every inch of their skin and meat; even the bones were fragrant.

It makes you want to chew up the meat and bones and swallow it whole.

Just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

Ling Miao quickly stopped thinking and looked more carefully at the pot of duck in front of her.

The rich aroma wafted out through the cracks, filling the room and spilling out into the outside.

Passersby curiously sniffed around, but couldn't find the source, so they had to leave dejectedly.

The people inside the house were even more shocked.

The group of people who had previously looked down on duck products now had their eyes fixed on the two large vats that were being boiled.

After an unknown amount of time, Ding Yi'en suddenly heard a pronouncement of judgment.

"We can start eating now."

He shook his head, still not quite understanding. "Really, we can eat it?"

Ling Miao nodded, looking at the dazed and infatuated expressions of the group, and felt a little guilty for once.

Actually, it could have been eaten a few minutes earlier, but Ling Miao cooked it for a little longer to make it more flavorful.

"Be careful, it's hot."

She scooped out some duck parts with a large spoon and turned them upside down onto a plate.

The originally white duck meat had been soaked into a rich, dark sauce, with wisps of white steam constantly rising from above.
