Chapter 43 Braised Roujiamo (Chinese Hamburger)

Finally, the group ate until their bellies were round and full.

Unable to eat any more, Avril and the others reluctantly left, looking at the duck parts still simmering in the pot.

"I'll definitely be the first person to arrive at the stall tomorrow!"

She clenched her fists, her eyes filled with longing.

She wants to be the first person to eat duck neck tomorrow!

The others remained silent, but exchanged glances, each seeing a determination in the other's eyes.

Before leaving, Cong Yue packed up several more duck necks and duck feet, and then left satisfied.

"Wonderful, wonderful, are we having this again tomorrow morning?"

Susan mumbled incoherently, holding a duck's foot in her hand.

Ling Miao paused for a second, glanced at the bubbling broth behind her, and made a tactful suggestion.

"Isn't it a bit inappropriate to eat this so early in the morning?"

"What's wrong with that? Just add some carbs and it'll be fine."

"I'm not picky, they're very easy to care for."

She was still chewing, looking at Ling Miao with expectant eyes.

"...Alright then."

The next morning, before Ling Miao even got up, she heard rustling sounds coming from outside the door.

She quickly dressed, pressed her ear to the door, listened for a while, and then hesitantly called out:

"Susan?"

"It's me!"

Susan, standing outside the door, excitedly agreed, as if she had been waiting for a long time.

"Miaomiao, you're awake!"

Ling Miao stared at the door in silence. Could she say that she got up because she thought a thief had broken in?

"...Yes, I'm here."

Ling Miao opened the door and was met with Susan's expectant face.

"...Let's eat after we wash up."

"Okay, okay!"

Susan reacted quickly, as if she had been waiting for Ling Miao to say those words.

Ling Miao glanced at her, and the other person seemed to realize it as well, giving her an embarrassed smile.

After quickly washing up, Ling Miao went into the kitchen, followed by a little tail.

"Miaomiao, what are we having for breakfast?"

As Susan spoke, her eyes remained fixed on the two large buckets of braising liquid.

It contained the braised duck products that were prepared yesterday.

After cooling overnight, the aroma has gradually spread.

Even so, you can still smell the rich aroma when you get close. Compared to when it's hot, the cooled duck dishes seem to have a unique flavor.

Susan subtly sniffed, looking at Ling Miao with a longing expression.

The meaning is obvious.

Ling Miao wanted to tease her, so she deliberately hesitated for a moment, and sure enough, she saw that she became obviously anxious.

"Didn't we agree on this yesterday?"

Ling Miao paused for a moment, then said, "Really?"

Susan nodded hurriedly, noticing Ling Miao's seemingly forgotten expression. "You really agreed!"

Ling Miao smiled and nodded, "Okay, I remember."

Susan then smiled, realizing that Ling Miao was teasing her again. She pouted, somewhat displeased.

"I want to eat lots of delicious food."

"Okay, I'll grant your request."

Ling Miao turned around and patted her head, "I'll make sure you eat well."

"Then what should we eat?"

Seeing Susan's bright eyes, Ling Miao gave the answer she had already thought of.

"Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger)".

"I know what meat is, but what is steamed bun?"

Ling Miao stroked her chin and explained, "Simply put, it's a pancake. You just cut it in the middle and put the meat inside."

Susan's eyes lit up; the meat must be braised duck!

She followed Ling Miao, scooped out a bowl of flour, and watched as the other woman skillfully kneaded the dough. The smooth little dough ball quickly took shape in her hands, and finally she put it into the pan to fry until cooked.

The fried dough is different from the usual pancakes. The surface is golden brown, while the edges are still white. Most importantly, when it's puffed up, the whole pancake has a round, bulging shape.

Following Ling Miao's instructions, Susan used a knife to cut the dough in half, then watched as Ling Miao took out the braised duck meat.

Chop it up on the cutting board, add some greens, and pour on a layer of freshly heated, steaming hot braising sauce.

The braised version of roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) is now ready.

Because it would be convenient to eat large chunks of meat, Ling Miao chose a large duck leg.

The duck legs were stewed until tender and flavorful; the skin and meat separated easily with a gentle tap. Not to mention the duck's abundant subcutaneous fat, which melted and soaked into the dough during the stewing process.

One bite, and the rich aroma of meat mixed with the refreshing taste of greens is so delicious it makes your tongue tingle.

Susan ate without even looking up, finishing five roujiamo (Chinese meat sandwiches) before regretfully putting her hands down.

She touched her stomach and burped.

"It's delicious!"

"Unfortunately, I can't eat anymore."

Ling Miao pinched her noticeably fuller face and teased, "You've gained weight."

Susan touched her cheek and said seriously, "It's all your fault!"

Ling Miao felt greatly wronged, "Is it my fault that I cook well?"

Susan nodded, without the slightest hint of guilt, "That's right!"

"But I just love your cooking!"

She smiled, her lips curving into a smile, her round eyes turning into crescent moons. "Miaomiao's food is the best in the entire galaxy!"

Ling Miao smiled along with her, and the two packed their things and pushed the cart to the United Market.

Upon arriving at the United Market, Ling Miao and Susan found that their original stall area was already filled with a large number of people.

They spotted Ling Miao and enthusiastically surrounded her.

"Boss, you've finally arrived."

"Yes, boss, I noticed that of all the stalls around here, yours is the last to arrive."

"Boss, boss, two bowls of Master Pang's signature wontons, please!"

"..."

Ling Miao and Susan exchanged a glance, then struggled to squeeze through the crowd. Once their stall was set up, they announced...
