The system hesitated for a moment, then put on a somewhat ingratiating expression and said, "[After using Deliciousness Points to upgrade the system, large discounts will occasionally appear in the system shop.]"
[This is also very favorable for the host.]
Ling Miao replied indifferently, "Oh."
More useful features will be available after the system upgrade.
Seeing that its host remained unmoved, the system held back for a moment, then couldn't help but burst into tears.
Ling Miao, outwardly cold but actually thoughtful: "..."
Don't cry.
[Waaaaah——]
I told you to stop crying, or I'd untie you.
This trick worked perfectly; the system, still sobbing, stopped crying.
You, you're bullying the leader!
Ling Miao: "..."
Who is bullying whom?
What happened to that arrogant attitude from the beginning?
Unable to hold back, Ling Miao blurted out what was on her mind.
The system, its eyes red-rimmed and sobbing, said: "My senior said I need to have presence, so I won't be fooled by the host."
Ling Miao fell into an eerie silence, recalling the previously aloof system in her mind, and then looking at the system in her mind now crying its eyes out: "..."
So, how old are you exactly now, and how many hosts have you cared for?
The system, its eyes reddening, fiddled with its fingers and whispered apologetically, "[I'm just the host, I'm still a newbie...]"
Ling Miao: "..."
She said that she felt this system was less reliable than herself, as she had figured out many of its functions by herself.
Ling Miao's face was indifferent.
[House, host]
Ling Miao wiped her face: "Alright, level up on your own."
[That's wonderful! You're so kind, host!]
"Wait a minute," Ling Miao narrowed her eyes, a hint of danger in her voice, as if remembering something, and asked, "Is it true that as long as you accumulate enough Deliciousness Points to convert into energy, you can go home and even travel to other planes for interdimensional travel?"
【Of course it's true!】
The little system wanted to point its finger at the heavens and swear that it hadn't lied to its host!
Ling Miao raised an eyebrow, feeling relieved. "Alright, then you can deduct the points to level up yourself."
Yay!
A pleasant sound echoed in my mind, followed by a mechanical voice—
The system is currently undergoing an upgrade, which will take approximately 24 hours.
Ling Miao recalled the soft, cute voice from before, and compared it to the cold, mechanical voice now, she was speechless for once. She had actually been fooled by a brand-new system for so long.
If it hadn't exposed itself, who knows how long it would have been kept in the dark.
As Ling Miao packed her things, she realized that even if the system didn't ask her to upgrade it, she would still upgrade it anyway.
The two are on the same side, and upgrading the system can only benefit her, not harm her.
Ling Miao had already roughly figured out the overall system structure when she was exploring the system's functions.
She smiled, her eyes crinkling as she thought of the system that had just burst into tears.
"What are you thinking about? Why are you laughing so happily?"
Susan continued moving, and upon hearing Ling Miao's laughter, she turned her head and asked.
Ling Miao blinked. "I just remembered something funny."
Susan raised an eyebrow, about to speak, when several shouts came from outside.
The two looked at each other, listened to the sounds of the children outside, and laughed.
"Coming soon."
Ling Miao responded and took the prepared crystal dumplings out of the kitchen.
Rella and two children were standing outside. Ling Miao looked around but didn't see Audya.
Rella spoke up first: "Mom is still behind us. The two kids have been clamoring to come over since early this morning."
Lesen and Lelin ran up and hugged Ling Miao's legs, saying in unison, "We love Sister Ling Miao the most!"
Rella bluntly exposed the two children's little secret: "They just like Sister Lingmiao's food, don't they?"
"hey-hey"
The two children chuckled silently. Ling Miao placed the tray on the table, squatted down, and tapped the children's noses. "Alright, eat up."
Rella placed the child on the chair and her gaze fell on the four plates of dumplings in front of her.
The crystal-like dough wraps around the filling, and the fish-shaped dumplings have a dark red interior; the filling is unknown. The entire fish is made to look incredibly lifelike, with two red dots adorning the eyes.
The crescent-shaped dumplings are also round and plump, sitting steadily on the white porcelain plate. The inside is light pink, wrapped in a crystal-clear dough, looking delicate and petite.
"What beautiful dumplings!"
She couldn't help but exclaim in admiration.
"Slurp—"
Lelin looked at the dumplings and couldn't help but drool. When he saw his mother looking over, he wasn't embarrassed at all. Instead, he said seriously, "It's all because they smell so good."
Rella raised an eyebrow: "Aren't they all pretty?"
All I could think about was food.
Lerin picked up his chopsticks and said matter-of-factly, "It looks good! But it's going to end up in my stomach anyway!"
So it doesn't matter!
He accurately picked up a shrimp dumpling, and the crescent-shaped dumpling was eagerly stuffed into his mouth.
"call--"
Lerin opened his mouth, fanning the hot air coming out of his mouth with his hand; it was so hot—
"Spit it out!"
Lerling was pulled over by his mother, slurped a few times, and swallowed the dumplings in a few hasty bites.
"If you knew it was hot, why didn't you spit it out?"
Rella poured a glass of water and handed it to Lerin.
The other person took the water and drank it down in one gulp, smacked their lips, and said with some regret, "I haven't tasted much of the flavor yet."
Rella rolled her eyes at her son and said nothing.
While Lerin was still savoring the memory, Lesen, who was much more composed, saw his brother's 'miserable state'. He carefully picked up a fish dumpling, blew on it a few times, and cautiously put it in his mouth.
