"Miaomiao"
Susan chimed in, as if she had discovered Ling Miao's wicked sense of humor, "Don't scare people."
"I wasn't scared."
Ling Miao blinked, looking at her innocently, "It's really delicious."
Seeing that Ling Miao seemed to be telling the truth, Susan's face stiffened, and she opened her mouth but couldn't say a word for a long time.
The twins realized something, stopped talking, looked around, and stared at each other in confusion.
What happened to them?
"Alright, alright, since none of you want to eat, then we won't make it for now."
Ling Miao shrugged, very 'generous' letting them off the hook.
Just as they breathed a sigh of relief, he said slyly, "I'll eat it behind your backs."
Rella's breath, which she was about to exhale, suddenly caught in her throat, unable to go up or down, which was incredibly frustrating.
"No, you can't eat it!"
Not only did Rella strongly oppose it, but even Susan couldn't stand Ling Miao's 'whimsical ideas'.
"If you do that, the kitchen will stink terribly!"
"You'll have to clean it up yourself then!"
She made a vicious threat.
"Oh well."
Ling Miao shrugged, seemingly giving up on the idea with a sense of helplessness.
The two breathed a sigh of relief. Rella picked up her chopsticks, washed them, and as soon as she sat down, she saw a plate of pickled chicken giblets in front of her.
"..."
Forget it, I won't eat it.
Now, seeing internal organs makes her feel a little uncomfortable.
Susan had the same idea. No, it was the three of them. They all gave up on the chicken giblets and focused their attention on the soup.
The soup is light in color, with a slight greenish tinge showing through the melon. The melon itself is white, turning slightly translucent when fully ripe, with small pieces of pork ribs interspersed throughout.
Winter melon and pork rib soup.
When Ling Miao made it before, they thought she had made too much food.
I'm so glad I made an extra soup.
She picked up a soup spoon and ladled a bowl for each person. When it was Ling Miao's turn, Susan put down the spoon and snorted.
"Just scoop it yourself."
"Maybe she doesn't want to drink it,"
Rella said sarcastically, "She's still thinking about the fatty intestines~"
Ling Miao touched her nose, realizing she had frightened them badly. She forced a smile several times to barely get through the matter.
They didn't say anything, but Le Yuan became curious.
"That...is really delicious?"
As he said this, he felt his wife's sharp gaze across from him, but he couldn't suppress his curiosity.
That stuff... tastes good?
Ling Miao nodded, putting away her joke, and explained seriously, "It depends on the person."
"Just like some people like sweet food and some people like salty food, some people like spicy food and some people like sour food. It's impossible to please everyone."
"But I actually think it tastes pretty good."
Stir-fried pork intestines are juicy and oily, and it's easy to have a prejudice against them before you've tried them.
But the moment it touched his lips, all his reluctance vanished like smoke.
Fragrant and spicy, the sizzling, oily pork intestines wrapped around rice are absolutely delicious when you eat them!
"Even if it tastes good, it won't work."
Rella flatly refused; she simply couldn't accept it.
As she spoke, she nudged Susan, who was sitting next to her, with her elbow. "Don't you think so?"
Susan hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
What's wrong with you?
"Still hesitating?"
Rella looked at Susan with a pained expression, as if she were looking at a little lamb that had gone astray.
Even if... even if it tastes amazing! I still won't eat it!
She spoke with unwavering resolve, her expression one of resolute determination, as if she were bravely facing her death.
"All right."
Ling Miao shrugged, not expecting to persuade them.
People who have never eaten pork intestines will find it difficult to have a good impression of this ingredient.
After all… the other party’s position is indeed quite problematic.
That was the end of it.
Apart from Ling Miao and the twins, none of the others touched the plate of stir-fried pickled chicken giblets.
Ling Miao clutched her stomach, complaining of feeling bloated. After finishing her meal, she and everyone cleaned up the mess and went out for a walk.
They also saw Le Yuan off.
He had originally planned to come over because his wife hadn't been home for a long time, but now he's gone back, but he's still alone.
My wife and kids are all left here.
He was somewhat helpless.
"Really not going back?"
Rella's eyes darted around. "Mom's here, and besides, I work here too."
No reason can cover up the fact that he was abandoned by his wife and children.
Le Yuan looked down at the two little ones below, and it was unclear whether he had noticed his father's gaze.
The twins held hands and ran away.
Le Yuan & Ruila: "..."
He rubbed his temples, feeling a slight headache, and said, "Never mind."
"I just hope you have fun."
With her husband being so understanding, Rella felt a little soft-hearted, but she also couldn't bear to part with the food Ling Miao had cooked.
They were caught in a dilemma.
Waaaaah, why did I have to choose this?
Can't I choose between my husband and delicious food?
This is such a difficult decision!
Le Yuan didn't say anything more, but his gaze fell on the twins not far away.
"They should go to school too."
Rella turned her head. "I know."
"It's good that you have a plan in mind."
"Then I'll be going now."
Rella saw her husband off and then took her two children home.
There was some silence along the way.
"What are you thinking about? You haven't said a word the whole way."
Ling Miao was a little curious; he had been all smiles just now, but now he looked worried.
It doesn't seem like she's reluctant to part with her husband.
She stopped and looked back.
The outline of the starship transfer station is long gone.
