Chapter Thirty-Five Joint Markets

"Recently, General Saidrian, commander of the First Army Corps of the Central Military Commission, successfully seized a batch of smuggled goods..."

On a large screen not far ahead, a smartly dressed presenter is broadcasting a news announcement.

As the news was broadcast, the previously quiet surroundings became somewhat agitated.

Ling Miao noticed that whispers had begun to rise from the previously quiet area ahead.

It seemed that the two girls couldn't contain their excitement and were sharing it with their companion.

"Oh my god, my idol is so amazing!"

"There is no man in the entire galaxy who can fight better than him."

"Who can argue with that? I wish I could see the general in person."

A woman's voice filled with expectation, but the tone inevitably dropped at the end.

She was well aware of the gap between the two of them.

"Don't say that. You might suddenly see him one day."

"A person should still have dreams; what if they come true?"

Another female voice comforted her.

Ling Miao turned slightly to the side, withdrawing her gaze from the excited crowd around her.

Seeing her actions, Nona's gaze turned mocking.

"You're a fan of the General too, aren't you?"

She lowered her voice and gently leaned closer, holding the child.

Ling Miao turned her head and met her curious and gossipy gaze, then shrugged.

"Actually, I didn't know him before today."

Nona didn't believe that.

However, she just felt that the little girl was shy and embarrassed.

He then turned to talk about General Cedrian's exploits over the years.

Hearing her exclamations and admiration, Ling Miao glanced at an image suddenly projected onto the large screen in front of her.

The man in the picture has high, prominent brow bones and a pair of hawk-like eyes that exude a faint coolness, sharp and captivating.

He was tall and wore a well-tailored black military uniform. His face was stern, as if he had just returned from a battle.

She lowered her eyes, remaining noncommittal.

Putting aside his achievements, just looking at his face alone, few people could resist it.

She was thinking about it with great interest when, before she came to her senses, the next big news story had already started playing.

The surrounding uproar gradually subsided.

Upon seeing this, Ling Miao raised her eyebrows in surprise. It seemed that this general's status among the masses was even higher than she had imagined.

The journey was somewhat boring, especially the trip to the capital planet. From Tadar planet to the capital planet, they passed through new planets constantly. At first, Ling Miao was very interested, but she soon lost interest.

It's so boring, even in the interstellar age we can't escape it.

Fortunately, Susan and Nona were around, chatting from time to time, which helped pass the time.

To Ling Miao's surprise, Nona and her child were also going to the capital planet.

The difference is that Nona went home, while Ling Miao went to participate in the food festival.

Knowing that Ling Miao was going to the food festival, Nona showed great interest.

Ling Miao, of course, would not refuse a guest who came to her door. After the two made an appointment, Ling Miao and Susan followed the route indicated by the Star Brain to the temporary accommodation provided by the organizer.

Surprisingly, the temporary accommodation was quite nice.

Ling Miao inspected the room.

The small two-bedroom apartment has a small number of rooms, but it is just enough for two people. The kitchen is fully equipped and has many new kitchen utensils that I have never seen before.

This made her marvel at the organizer's generosity.

"Let's take a break and then go check out the United Market."

"good."

Susan, of course, did not refuse Ling Miao's suggestion. She had completely composed herself and smiled as she agreed with the other party's idea.

The Union Market is located between the Federal Military Academy and Honoré College, a truly prime location with a huge flow of people.

The area is filled with bustling markets and towering buildings, creating a futuristic and fantastical atmosphere. The cool, silvery-gray tones are sharp and striking under the sunlight.

Of course, this building, with its rather austere style, clearly belongs to a military academy, while the neighboring Honoré College is somewhat different.

It is clearly a rather ornate European-style building.

Ling Miao sighed as she walked into the central square of the United Market, which covered a huge area and was crowded with stalls of all sizes.

Ling Miao stared in disbelief. "Wasn't it supposed to start at 2 PM tomorrow?"

Susan looked around and explained, "These are just some small vendors. They must have set up their stalls a few days in advance to attract more customers. Our stall is still inside."

Ling Miao nodded and walked in with curious steps.

Since transmigrating to the interstellar era, she has been on the planet Tadar and has not yet truly tasted the delicacies of the interstellar era.

She bought some food that she was curious about and sat down at the stall to eat it.

There was a bowl of steaming hot noodle soup in her hand. This was the best-selling noodle shop Ling Miao had ever been to.

She observed the surrounding businesses thoughtfully. Perhaps because the weather wasn't too hot, the hot food stalls always had more customers than the other stalls.

But that's not entirely true. Ling Miao noticed a stall across the street that seemed to sell cold drinks, and their business was also very good.

Ling Miao withdrew her gaze, lowered her eyes, and looked at the bowl of soup noodles in front of her. Judging from its appearance, it was not bad.

The soup was a bit cloudy, but it smelled rich and mellow, as if it were made with bone broth. However, the color wasn't white enough, and it wasn't very appealing at first glance.

Ling Miao picked up her chopsticks and took some noodles.

The noodles were thin and soft, but they were overcooked, becoming mushy and not chewy enough, as if they had been machine-ground.

Having made up her mind, Ling Miao finished her bowl of noodles and then went shopping with Susan for other things.
