They want hot food and quick service.
As she was thinking, she passed by a Starbucks.
Supermarkets in the interstellar era are not much different from those in the previous life; the only difference might be the area they occupy.
The buildings here are all very high-tech; they can be built as tall as the available area, and the cost is not high.
Star Supermarket is a large supermarket that occupies an entire building, but this one is much smaller than the one I saw at the Union Market before.
The number of people is not as high as before.
Ling Miao and Susan walked into the Star Supermarket together, and seeing only a handful of people, they couldn't help but sigh.
Even in the interstellar age, location is still important for doing business.
"This piece of pork belly looks so beautiful!"
Ling Miao snapped out of her daze and saw Susan looking through the glass at a piece of pork belly lying in the cabinet.
The pork is bright in color and looks like it was freshly slaughtered. The fat and lean meat are evenly distributed, about 60% to 40% of the meat, making it look perfect for cooking.
Having studied with Ling Miao for so long, Susan's understanding of ingredients has deepened. She sighed with admiration while glancing at Ling Miao's expression.
Do you have any good ideas?
Ling Miao hesitated for a moment, then shook her head.
An idea just flashed through her mind, but she rejected it.
When Ling Miao saw this beautiful piece of pork belly, she did think of a street food.
In her past life, when she traveled to Fujian Province, she ate a local specialty dish.
Fuding sliced meat.
Mix the minced pork with tapioca starch, and scrape it little by little into boiling water using a spatula.
The cooked meat slices are pinkish-white and have a chewy and smooth texture, making it a very distinctive local delicacy.
However, compared to some unfamiliar local specialties, Ling Miao still wanted to use more familiar dishes to ensure everything went smoothly tomorrow.
Even if we're being conservative...
Looking at the pork belly in front of her, her eyes lit up, and she quickly remembered a popular dish that appealed to all ages.
Small wontons.
Although she didn't quite agree with Ling Miao's idea, Susan still went with her to buy groceries and go home.
Steamed buns, noodles, dumplings, wontons, and the like have already appeared in interstellar games and are quite common, so there's nothing new about them.
Just pick out any dish you made before, and it'll definitely attract the attention of most of the square.
Susan didn't understand why Ling Miao chose such a simple and ordinary dish.
The pickled fish dish from before would definitely attract everyone's attention, and even bamboo shoots are excellent ingredients.
These dishes, which haven't even appeared in interstellar space yet, are the key to victory.
Despite her confusion, Susan obediently followed Ling Miao in preparing.
But she held back for a moment, but couldn't help asking, "Why are they small wontons?"
Ling Miao smiled. She couldn't very well say that she didn't have any good ideas and just followed the crowd and prepared some hot food.
She pursed her lips, confident in her cooking skills, but more than that, she was testing the waters.
"It wontons wontons wontons will be served the same way over the next few days, depending on the market."
Susan nodded, still somewhat confused, but much better than before.
It's not good if it's not always wontons.
She had great confidence in Ling Miao's cooking skills; she had never tasted such delicious food at any of the upscale restaurants she had been to before, let alone the novel dishes.
She would be furious if she only made wontons.
Composing herself, she joined Ling Miao in making wontons.
She didn't feel much about this kind of food that she had eaten before and that wasn't particularly new.
Watching Ling Miao's skillful and swift movements, she sighed in admiration and quickened her own pace. Although her movements couldn't match the other's delicate and exquisite ones, they were still quite good, since they were all going to end up in her mouth anyway.
While I was wrapping wontons, the person next to me stood up and took out the ingredients they had bought.
The other party then took out a chopped bone and a prepared chicken.
"You're eating so early?"
Susan checked the time; it was four in the afternoon, still a long time before dinner.
Hearing Susan's words, Ling Miao smiled and said, "This isn't for dinner."
The broth used to make wontons is the real essence.
Susan smiled after learning of Ling Miao's plan.
Ling Miao smiled without saying a word. Although she chose the small wontons that are easy for the general public to accept, the simple small wontons are more likely to reflect the skill of the person who used the ingredients.
The two worked tirelessly until dark before finally finishing their tasks.
The entire space was filled with the rich aroma of chicken soup, mixed with the savory flavor of pork bones. The intense fragrance permeated the entire room, and wisps of white steam rose continuously from the kitchen.
Susan stared intently at the large pot of broth simmering in front of her. The pale yellow broth revealed specks of milky color at the bottom as it rippled. It wasn't entirely made from chicken broth; pork bones had been added, giving the broth a milky white hue. A rich aroma wafted into Susan's nostrils along with the rising steam.
She stared at it intently, her expression one of longing.
It wasn't until Ling Miao handed her the cooked wontons that the other woman came to her senses.
I hurriedly scooped up a spoonful of soup, and its rich, savory aroma exploded in my mouth. Tiny dried shrimp and dark purple seaweed stood out against the surface, and plump, small wontons with long tails floated on the soup. The pink wonton wrappers encased fresh meat, and when I bit into the tender filling, the broth and meat juices flowed onto my tongue.
Susan was taken aback, but quickly swallowed the soup and minced meat after realizing what was happening.
"I never knew wontons could taste this good."
Susan remarked that any lingering confusion she had felt earlier had completely vanished.
I thought the soup base would be the biggest surprise, but it turns out that the wontons, which she had always looked down on, were the biggest surprise.
