【Host?】
【Host?】
The system called out to Ling Miao in a fawning manner, but the other party remained silent, her hands clenched so tightly they were wrinkled.
This long wait was truly agonizing. A whole night had passed, and apart from the initial discovery that the host could complain to the main system, the host had remained silent ever since.
The system has gone from being panicked at the beginning to being filled with anxiety and fear now.
Like a prisoner awaiting the executioner's blade, the unbearable torment wears down every nerve.
I really know I was wrong.
From now on, I'll do whatever you say.
The little system blushed and looked at its host with hopeful eyes.
A glint flashed in Ling Miao's eyes, and as if casually, she slowed down her movements.
Seeing an opportunity, the system quickly replied, "Really, I'll do whatever you say!"
【real?】
Ling Miao spoke, glancing at the innocent-looking little system in her mind, and couldn't help but curl her lips into a smile. "You said it yourself."
[Yes, yes, I said it myself.]
Completely unaware that they had fallen into a trap.
Actually, she wasn't that angry. She had read the user manual, and the system allowed commission points within permissible limits.
After all, its functions are not as miraculous as described in novels, and it cannot detect the outside world anytime and anywhere, let alone monitor it.
It's more like a tool to motivate the host to strive for improvement.
She had read the system's new user guide; the system needed to establish contact with the outside world, and the only way to do so was to connect to the StarNet.
However, they do not have this authority; they can only convert deliciousness points into energy to connect to the external star network.
In other words, without deliciousness points as energy, it can only stay in the host's mind forever, or even lose energy and fall into hibernation.
Ling Miao thought about it and felt that this was not good either, and it was not fair to it.
However, since the little system itself said so, we'll listen to it from now on.
Ling Miao smiled and said, "You said it yourself."
【Alright, then the kitchen utensils can be upgraded too.】
I'll upgrade them right away!
The system agreed very readily.
Ling Miao continued, "[It would be even better if we could level up without spending any energy.]"
System: Stagnant (jpg).
Don't you think so?
【…yes.】
The words were practically squeezed out through clenched teeth, and the system's chubby face furrowed, giving it a dejected look as if it were about to cry.
Isn't this just using his own energy?
Waaaaah, its life is so miserable!
It was on the verge of tears, yet it was the very promise it had made, and now it was crying as it tried to fill the hole.
The upgraded kitchen is more than twice the size of the previous one, but it doesn't feel out of place.
In addition, there were several other kitchen utensils.
There's even an extra food delivery robot.
Ling Miao looked at him curiously. He had a round head and was not very tall. The dishes were placed on the other person's round tray.
"Now I finally feel a bit of the reality of the interstellar era."
Helpless, she shrugged. Having been in the interstellar era for so long, aside from the starship she rode on to the food festival and the various scenes she had only ever seen in her imagination on the capital planet,
Back on Tadar, she felt no different from living on Earth.
"Hey, why is there a robot here?"
Susan pushed open the door and saw Ling Miao curiously examining the short, stocky food delivery robot in front of her.
Having been in Tadar for so long, this is the first time I've ever seen a robot.
"It's brand new, and I'm already so busy."
Ling Miao shrugged and explained.
That's true.
The other person quickly lost their curiosity, their eyes darting around, taking in the plump little buns laid out on the cutting board.
"Steamed buns for breakfast today?"
What kind of filling is it?
She loved eating steamed buns on the capital planet, but there were very few that were made well.
Either the bun skin is stiff and rigid, or the filling isn't flavorful enough, making them taste artificial.
Susan leaned closer to look, wishing she could pick up a steamed bun and hold it in her palm. "So cute!"
"But it's so small."
She was a little conflicted, "How much do I need to eat to feel full?"
"It's served with plain congee, and also with salted duck eggs."
Ling Miao pointed to the other side of the pot, which was covered with a lid, and wisps of white steam kept escaping from the sides.
"Salted duck egg?"
"Are the salted duck eggs you pickled ready?"
Rella overheard their conversation as soon as she entered the room.
Ling Miao rolled up her sleeves a little more, nodding as she added, "The preserved egg is ready too."
The two looked at each other in bewilderment.
I recall hearing a description before: a dark, murky egg?
Does anyone actually eat it?
The two wisely chose to keep quiet, put on their aprons, and got to work.
Because Ruila's skills in making steamed buns were not yet proficient, Ling Miao assigned her to make dumplings instead.
The shape of dumplings is simple; just pinch them together with your thumbs and forefingers to wrap them tightly, and the taste will be outstanding.
"How come there's still so much filling?"
Susan picked up a circle of dough and realized that there were five bowls of different sizes around her, each with a different filling.
"This pure meat one is for making xiaolongbao (soup dumplings)."
"It's that delicate little steamed bun you see."
Ling Miao pointed to the already wrapped buns, "The other four fillings are for making large buns and steamed dumplings."
"There are so many rules?" Susan found it intriguing.
Ling Miao paused, realizing she had led the other person astray, and quickly tried to salvage the situation, "Actually, there's no particular reason; it's just my personal habit."
"Wrap whatever you like to eat."
