The first rays of morning sunlight streamed lazily into the room through the gaps in the curtains.
Lin Yuan opened his eyes groggily, feeling as if a small mountain was pressing down on him, so heavy that he could hardly breathe.
He shifted his body slightly and discovered that the heavy object was actually a soft human figure.
It turned out that Sun Yuxin was half-naked, lying on top of him without any defenses, fast asleep.
With a sweet sleepiness on her face and a slight upturn at the corners of her mouth, she was having a wonderful dream.
Her hair was disheveled and fell across his chin, causing a slight itch.
This little girl is such a restless sleeper; I don't know if she does it on purpose or not.
He gently raised his hand, trying to push Sun Yuxin away, but she clung to him like an octopus, and he couldn't push her away no matter what.
Left with no other option, Lin Yuan could only cough softly, trying to wake her up with the sound.
"Cough cough..."
Lin Yuan's cough was particularly clear in the quiet room.
At this moment, Sun Xinyi was sleeping in the wooden cubicle. Upon hearing the cough, she immediately became alert.
As a Sanda (Chinese kickboxing) expert, she suddenly sat up in bed, her eyes warily fixed on the room where Lin Yuan was.
After hesitating for a moment, she decided to go and check on him. After all, Lin Yuan was a guest of hers, and it wouldn't be good if something happened to him.
Sun Xinyi walked quickly to Lin Yuan's room and suddenly pushed the door open.
The sight before her eyes stunned her instantly!
His younger sister, Sun Yuxin, was half-naked and lying on top of Lin Yuan, while Lin Yuan looked at her helplessly.
Sun Xinyi's face instantly turned ashen, and a surge of anger burned fiercely in her heart.
She strode forward, grabbed Sun Yuxin by the ear, and forcefully pulled her off Lin Yuan.
"You brat, what are you doing now?"
Sun Xinyi roared, her voice filled with intense shame and indignation.
"ah!"
A sharp pain shot through her, and Sun Yuxin screamed.
She was startled awake by her sister's actions, rubbing her sleepy eyes, still not quite understanding what had happened.
When she finally saw the scene before her, she realized what she had just done.
The girl's face instantly turned bright red, as if it had been burned, and she was so ashamed that she wanted to disappear.
She hurriedly got up from the ground, rubbing her ear which her sister had pinched so hard, and apologized repeatedly.
"Sister, I was wrong, I didn't mean to, I..."
However, Sun Yuxin's earlier scream attracted Chu Yuehong, who was busy in the kitchen.
Hearing the commotion, Chu Yuehong hurriedly put down her work and ran over.
She was completely bewildered when she saw the chaotic scene before her.
Sun Xinyi was still angrily scolding Sun Yuxin, while Lin Yuan sat on the edge of the bed, looking at them with an embarrassed expression.
"What's going on? What's all the commotion about so early in the morning?"
Chu Yuehong frowned and asked, her eyes scanning back and forth between the three of them.
When Sun Xinyi saw her mother arrive, she became even angrier.
She pointed at Sun Yuxin and said loudly, "Mom, look at her! This child fell asleep and climbed naked onto Lin Yuan, half-naked! What kind of behavior is this?"
Upon hearing this, Chu Yuehong's already pale face, due to illness, turned serious.
She looked at Sun Yuxin with a hint of reproach in her eyes: "Yuxin, how can you be so insensible?"
Sun Yuxin lowered her head, tears welling in her eyes, her voice so soft it was almost inaudible: "Mom, I...I didn't mean to, I..."
Seeing this, Lin Yuan felt a pang of pity.
Although Sun Yuxin sometimes acts without thinking, she is not a bad person at heart.
He coughed lightly, trying to ease the tension.
"Auntie, Sister Xinyi, please don't blame Yuxin. It was an accident. Besides, nothing happened between us, so please don't overthink it."
Chu Yuehong and Sun Xinyi's expressions softened slightly after hearing Lin Yuan's words.
Although Sun Xinyi was still somewhat angry about her sister's behavior, she didn't say anything more.
Sun Yuxin then raised her head, looked at Lin Yuan with gratitude, and whispered, "Thank you, Brother Lin Yuan."
Lin Yuan smiled slightly, pondering what to do next.
He had long regarded Sun Xinyi as his bodyguard and only felt a sense of appreciation for her talent.
As for Sun Yuxin, he cared for her more like a brother or sister.
He didn't want the Sun family to be thrown into chaos over these trivial matters.
After all, he had more important things to do.
"Okay, Auntie, Coach Sun, and Yuxin, why don't you go and buy some soy milk and fried dough sticks? I'm a little hungry."
Lin Yuan deliberately raised his eyebrows at the group.
He took out a red 100-yuan note.
Chu Yuehong thought about it and agreed. After all, there weren't enough eggs at home for the five of them, which was what she was worried about.
"Alright, you can go ahead, but be careful on the road."
Sun Xinyi and Sun Yuxin exchanged a glance. Although the younger sister was somewhat reluctant, she still nodded.
As the older sister, she decisively took Sun Yuxin's hand and said, "Let's go buy soy milk and fried dough sticks."
After the three left, only Lin Yuan and Sun Jian remained in the room.
Lin Yuan sat on the sofa in the living room, his hands folded on his knees.
His eyes were cold and resolute, like two sharp swords fixed on Sun Jian.
A tense atmosphere filled the room. Sun Jian's face was pale, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
He sat on the sofa, leaning slightly forward, his hands gripping the edge tightly, as if he might stand up and beg for mercy at any moment.
Knowing full well that he had no other way out, Lin Yuan's appearance might be his only lifeline, but this man also made him feel a chill down his spine.
