Chapter 87 Horror!

The internal wiring and buttons of the bomb—testing and analyzing them bit by bit using traditional methods—would be far too time-consuming!

"So that's why he chose the bombardment?"

Want to cut the Gordian knot?

"But this knife is too 'fast'! You could easily cut yourself if you're not careful!"

"I feel that even if time is tight, choosing to bombard is still too risky!"

It's a pure gamble with your life!

"According to the information I found, the cutting rope that Team Leader Shen is currently working on has incredibly high requirements, especially in the shaping step alone!"

The shape and length of the cutting cord, and especially the amount of explosive charge, need to be precisely calculated based on the internal structure of the bomb!

Even one gram more could transmit the explosive impact, accidentally detonating sensitive components.

Even a gram less would mean insufficient cutting power in the jet, failing to sever the propagation path, rendering the entire effort futile and potentially alerting the bomb!

"right!

The information states that the equivalent of this substance is often calculated with precision down to the gram or even milligram level!

A small difference can lead to a huge error!

If the cutting cord explodes, it might not cut off the path and instead detonate the entire bomb!

Wouldn't that be a huge joke?

"Making the cutting cable is just the first step in a long journey!"

It gets even harder from here on out!

After preparing the cutting cord, it must be accurately delivered to the selected 'explosion point' inside the bomb through that small, fingernail-sized window.

Choosing that point is a complex matter in itself; it must be on the critical path of the detonation propagation.

It must remain relatively independent to avoid affecting innocent people.

"It's not enough to just send it in; you also have to make sure that the V-groove of the cutting cable is perfectly aligned with the 'path' that needs to be cut!"

Even a slight deviation will cause the jet to go astray, and all your efforts will be in vain!

And the placement process must be stable, avoiding contact with anything it shouldn't touch!

"Anyway, from the descriptions in those documents, every step of the bombing was like walking a tightrope on a bottomless cliff. Any tiny mistake would not result in 'failure,' but in 'explosion'!"

"Is it really necessary to take such a risk given the high level of risk?"

Can't we think of other, safer methods?

"I also think it's better to play it safe!"

Team Leader Shen has already taken control of the other, more dangerous devices. Or... should we think of another way?

Perhaps there are other ideas?

Of course, besides those who questioned it, there were also voices supporting Shen Ting.

"Alright, alright, you all think you're bomb disposal experts just because you've looked at some information found online?"

Is this where you're pointing fingers and giving orders?

Team Leader Shen was the one who defused the bomb on site; he had more information than we did!

Since he chose this method, he must have had his reasons and be confident in his decision!

"that is!

Previously, people questioned whether Team Leader Shen knew how to defuse bombs, but it turns out he's incredibly skilled with liquid nitrogen and foam!

Now they're questioning the bombardment again?

"Can't we have a little more faith in Team Leader Shen?"

"That's how the internet works: everyone reads a little information and thinks they're a genius, and then they dare to boss around experts."

"I trust Team Leader Shen's judgment!"

He knew the consequences better than anyone else!

"Stop arguing! Watch closely! Team Leader Shen is moving on to the next step!"

The argument in the comments subsided slightly, and everyone's attention was focused on Shen Ting's incredibly steady hands, following the camera's view.

In the video, Shen Ting has already completed the shaping of the cutting rope.

The small white stick with its sharp V-groove lay quietly on the control panel.

He picked up a miniature electric detonator, thinner than a matchstick, and inserted it precisely and gently into the specific spot on the cutting cord.

Next, he replaced it with a slender, insulated rod with a precision clamping mechanism.

Carefully secure the cutting cable to the front end of the pole.

The most breathtaking step is about to begin.

Shen Ting adjusted his breathing—

This was the first time the audience had seen him make a similar "preparation" gesture.

Then, he manipulated the insulating rod, slowly and gradually inserting the cutting cable at the top, which carried all hope, into the tiny window on the bomb's casing.

The opening was already small, so the cutting rope had to be inserted in an absolutely straight line without any scraping.

Shen Ting's arm was as steady as a rock, while his wrist made subtle adjustments.

This delivery took a long two or three minutes.

For the viewers in front of the screen, it felt like two or three hours had passed.

Everyone subconsciously held their breath, as if even a heavy breath would affect the stability of the insulating pole thousands of miles away.

Finally, Shen Ting stopped moving completely.

He looked at the X-ray screen and endoscope display next to him, seemingly checking the position of the cutting cable end inside the bomb.

After another agonizing ten or so seconds, he finally released the clamping mechanism with extreme slowness.

Then, at a slower and more careful pace than when it was inserted, the empty insulating rod was pulled out of the window.

The cutting cord has been left inside the bomb, within its complex structure.

Next, Shen Ting pulled the two hair-thin leads of the miniature electric detonator out of the small hole and connected them to a palm-sized black cube.

This is a remote detonator.

After doing all this, Shen Ting finally raised his head and said something briefly into the communicator.

Inside the mine, Xu Xinyi and two bomb disposal police officers, who had been guarding his side and rear, immediately began their operation.

They quickly checked their equipment and then retreated swiftly but orderly toward the mine entrance.

Before leaving, Xu Xinyi turned back and gave Shen Ting a deep look, and Shen Ting nodded almost imperceptibly.
