Chapter 46 Preparing the poster...

Chapter 46 Preparing the poster...

Every student at Rikkai University has been very busy lately.

I was so busy that when I met someone, I could only nod and smile before leaving in a hurry.

The Kaihara Festival had officially entered its five-day countdown. Classes had their own tasks, and clubs had their own requirements.

Dragging her dance-ravaged body out of the volleyball hall, and then slowly moving into the classroom, Yuihara Kaoru almost couldn't breathe when she saw the class monitor Hayakawa Yuka who was on high alert.

Hayakawa came over with a list of tasks. "Jieyuan! Your mission is to assist Yukimura and two other members of the art club in completing three promotional posters for our class. Go!"

"Ah...but I..." Can't draw?

Hayakawa, only a pair of eyes peeking out from behind the list, quickly squeezed them open. "This is a bonus! Yukimura-san fought for it for you."

Then he grabbed Xiangcheng's shoulders and turned her back: "Go, Xiangcheng! Keep going!"

Xiangcheng staggered after being pushed by her and had to take heavy steps to find the art classroom.

"Ah, Yuihara is here!"

"Come and take a look at this. Is the theme of my painting a little off?"

Before anyone could knock on the door, Xiangcheng was carried in by two girls.

Yukimura stood in front of the flat drawing table, looking at the two works in front of him with a thoughtful look on his face.

"Look, Jieyuan, which one is more attractive to you, the one on the left or the one on the right?"

Xiangcheng was pulled next to Yukimura, and Yukimura took the initiative to make some space for her.

Xiangcheng looked left and right: "I think they are all good!"

"No," one of the girls refused, "You have to choose one!"

"You are really making things difficult for me, a person without any artistic talent..." Xiangcheng looked at Yukimura for help.

Yukimura raised an eyebrow: "You'd better choose, otherwise they won't let you go."

“That’s right!”

"This is the day we are destined to win or lose!"

"Yes! Only the winner has the right to post it on the main gate!"

"The loser can just go through the back door!"

Xiangcheng asked secretly: "Yukimura, which one did you choose?"

If they both choose different ones, wouldn't it be fair?

"Hmm..." Two girls rushed over and separated her and Yukimura: "You can't do this! It has to be fair!"

"that is!"

Xiangcheng had no choice but to lower his head again, close his eyes and point to the painting on the right.

The two girls tutted at the same time: "No wonder, their aesthetic tastes are so unified."

"Ah, Chie-chan, I lost~"

"It's okay, Meizi-chan, I'll give you half of the front door~"

"Oh, you're so nice~"

Xiangcheng took a step back, not understanding how these two girls suddenly entered the channel that Liu Sheng liked.

Yukimura smiled and said, "They want to see if we will choose the same one." Huh?

Xiangcheng doesn't understand, is this a very important matter?

Seeing that the two girls were still immersed in their own world, Yukimura said again: "Come and help me, Xiangcheng."

"Oh well."

Xiangcheng followed him to the other end of the drawing table. This painting was larger than the previous two. Yukimura had already made a rough outline with a pencil.

This is the one that will be put up at the school gate to attract customers.

"I'm going to start coloring. Could Xiangcheng just pass me the marker?"

"OK!"

Yukimura pulled a stool over from the side and asked Kaoru to sit on it. He then pushed his own painting box to Kaoru's feet and said, "Then I'm going to start painting."

Xiangcheng nodded, ready to hand him a pen at any time.

Yukimura is a completely different person when he wanders in the world of paintings. He has the same peaceful concentration as the day he visited the art museum, mixed with a different kind of gentleness.

His hair playfully slid down from his head bit by bit, blocking his narrow eyes.

Xiangcheng turned around and saw two girls from the same class with their backs to them, whispering about what to do with the banner.

So she propped up her chin with her hands, curled herself up on the stool, and watched quietly as the objects in Yukimura's paintings gradually came to life.

Some people are just like that, they can do whatever they want to do.

He put down his racket and picked up the paintbrush, as if he were the most compassionate god in the painting world.

Yukimura suddenly raised the corner of his mouth and said, "Kaoki, if you keep staring at me, I won't be able to draw."

"Oh——" Xiangcheng immediately turned around and looked at the two girls whose shoulders were shaking. Knowing what they were laughing at, he turned back and lowered his eyes.

Yukimura paused and put the brush aside. "Can you give me color 5 and 8?"

The oranges were easy to find in the box: one was a lime green, the other a sky blue.

"These two colors look great." They are her favorite colors.

Yukimura took it and placed it on his right hand, then picked up the one he had just put down.

"What do you think of this painting?"

Xiangcheng glanced sideways at the painted area. "It looks a lot like a medieval vampire castle—hmm, that fits our theme quite well."

Yukimura's men continued to move: "Does Kaoru like going to the haunted house?"

Xiang Cheng shook her head violently: "Not at all... I went there once when I was a child, and I always felt that there were ghosts everywhere in the room, and I was being chased by ghosts in my dreams."

"I really didn't expect that. So you can't play as an NPC during the Kaihara Festival?"

"I can sell tickets! I'll definitely tell you the story of our haunted house! And then I'll scare a couple of random passersby to death, hehe~"

Yukimura shook his head helplessly.

The two girls also discussed it and said hello: "Let's go to the utility room to find suitable materials~"

Xiangcheng waved goodbye and continued to look at Yukimura's painting.

The rustling sound of the paintbrush was like the best white noise. Combined with Xiangcheng's very safe curled-up posture, her upper and lower eyelids began to fight each other unconsciously.

She tried hard to keep her eyes open and pretend that she was not sleepy, and her gaze followed Yukimura's hand.

It swings back and forth like the best hypnotic pendulum.

When Yukimura turned around and wanted to say something again, he saw that Kaoru had fallen asleep with her head resting on her arm.

Yukimura wanted to continue drawing, but when he saw the marker at hand, he became playful.

The back of her hand felt a little itchy, and Xiangcheng was awakened from her sleepiness. She wanted to scratch it, but Yukimura's voice came from very close: "Don't move, it will be over soon."

"Oh... um?" Xiangcheng opened her eyes and saw Yukimura's hair covering the side of his face. He was holding a paintbrush and painting something on her hand.

She subconsciously wanted to withdraw her hand, but Yukimura held her fingertips and said, "It's really just a little bit. Let me finish it."

Xiangcheng lowered his head and saw a sleeping cat head on the back of his hand.

"Alright!" Yukimura added a few strands of whiskers. "Is it cute?"

Xiangcheng raised her hand and examined it carefully: "It looks good, but no, how could you paint on my hand..."

She received an accusing look from Yukimura: "You said you were here to help me, but you ended up falling asleep, huh?"

"Hahaha, I'm so sleepy!"

Xiang Cheng swore: "This time I will work hard and never sleep."

Yukimura asked for two more colors.

Xiangcheng yawned secretly, and then squeezed her eyes frequently, trying to swallow the tears in her eyes.

I've been staying up too late lately, and at school I'm either practicing dancing or preparing for the Kaihara Festival, so I don't even have a chance to slack off.

The only advantage is probably that except for the third grade, classes for the other two grades have been suspended, so they don’t have to deal with physics anymore.

By the time Yukimura finished the poster, it was already past lunchtime.

Yukimura stood up and revised a few more places. Only then did he suddenly realize what was going on under Xiangcheng's resentful gaze: "Is it too late?"

Xiangcheng pointed to the clock behind him: "It's past one."

"Are you hungry?" Yukimura smiled apologetically and quickly put away his paintbrush.

Xiangcheng helped him put it back in the box and closed it again: "I'm super hungry, but I'm also afraid you'll say I'm not working hard."

"My bad," Yukimura raised his hands in surrender, "If you didn't bring any food, let's go to the cafeteria."

Xiangcheng shook his head: "Forget it, let's go buy some bread. The cafeteria's latest innovations are a bit inhumane."

Natto ramen sounds very "pagan", and she doesn't want to be a traitor to the "tonkontoshi ramen cult"!

"I really want to try it," Yukimura said, defeated by Yukimura's accusation. "Okay, I'll take Sanada to try it some other day. If it doesn't taste good, I can let Sanada eat two bowls."

The happiness of being your friend is truly a matter of comparison! Xiangcheng feels sorry for Sanada.

"Not painting this afternoon?" The two walked along the campus corridor, heading towards the convenience store.

Yukimura pondered for a moment and said, "There's no need to rush. The raw materials for the haunted house decorations haven't arrived yet, so we can rest in the afternoon."

Xiang Cheng deflated: "Then can I find a place to catch up on my sleep?"

"Why, staying up late playing games again?"

Xiang Cheng said vaguely: "Hmm... it's almost there~"

Yukimura sighed: "It's better to go to bed early. Staying up late... is very harmful to your health."

"It doesn't matter," Xiangcheng confided, "We can think of it this way: if we sleep until two o'clock and then get up to play games, does that count as staying up late?"

What greeted her was a full-blown brain-melt.

But no matter what, it is still difficult for Xiangcheng to quit the habit of staying up late.

But recently it’s not about playing games, but because I vowed before to prepare a gift for Yukimura.

She thought about it for a long time but still couldn't figure out what kind of gift would be considered serious, so she could only ask Mizunoe Haruko for help.

Fortunately, Haruko is a master of emotional value - so Xiangcheng is following her suggestion and using the time after returning home every day to make it carefully.

Xiangcheng lay over the computer, arranged the remaining photos according to the format, connected it to the color printer, and waited for the photo paper to be consumed bit by bit before gradually spitting out the color pictures.

They are all Yukimura and his teammates on the field.

She thought that she had no part in the regrettable past of junior high school, but from the first moment they met, Yukimura's tennis career had been moving forward.

He felt sorry for not being able to become a professional player, but he was more eager to get rid of the resentment and rediscover his love and persistence for tennis.

In this year's national competition, he led his teammates back to the top. In every game, cheering classmates took precious photos of them.

If one day, Yukimura stands on the professional field, he will definitely be proud of his journey.

Looking at the cat's head on the back of his hand, which was not very blurry, Xiangcheng thought, that's enough.
