[Chapter 112 Strange Friends]
Lin Yin refused without thinking, "No, I don't want to have blood drawn."
Fu Huaijin thought she was afraid of pain, so he coaxed her like a child, "It will only take a moment, just be good and bear with it."
"I don't want to have my blood drawn."
Lin Yin raised her eyes, and looked at Fu Huaijin with pleading eyes. She seemed to be afraid, and there seemed to be a faint ripple of tears in her eyes.
"Forget it, we won't smoke anymore, you guys go out."
When she showed him such a lovable side, Fu Huaijin's heart softened, and he couldn't bear to let her be pricked by a needle.
He sat at the head of the bed, the tenderness in his eyes almost overflowing, "If you feel unwell in the future, don't endure it anymore, tell me immediately, okay?"
Having avoided the blood draw, Lin Yin breathed a sigh of relief, finally letting go of the worry in her heart. She nodded, "I understand."
"Are you hungry? I'll ask the servant to bring up some food." Fu Huaijin said.
Lin Yin was indeed a little hungry.
Soon the servant brought the food up, and then stood aside, watching Fu Huaijin pick up food for Lin Yin from time to time, and even peeled shrimps himself. His gentle and considerate appearance surprised the servants.
It’s not like there haven’t been women in the villa before, but the gentleman never served them. He treated them condescendingly.
This lady is really extraordinary.
Maybe she will be luckier than those women in the past.
"There's a party tonight. Do you want to join in?" Fu Huaijin put the peeled shrimp into her bowl and asked.
Lin Yin asked: "What party?"
"My friends learned that I was back and held a welcoming party for me."
Lin Yin is an introvert and not good at socializing, let alone being with a group of unfamiliar people.
She put down her chopsticks and declined, "Since you are your friend, it would not be a good idea for me to go."
Fu Huaijin smiled and said, "How could that be? They all know about your existence and asked me to take you with them."
“…”
It sounds very ambiguous, like a boyfriend wanting to introduce his girlfriend to his friends.
Lin Yin felt it was inappropriate and refused, "No, I don't really want to go out."
Sensing her resistance, Fu Huaijin stopped putting pressure on her.
Take it one step at a time, there is always a long way to go.
Fu Huaijin nodded with a smile, "Okay then, if you don't want to go, I won't go either. I'll stay at home with you."
Lin Yin wanted to say no, but she pursed her lips and swallowed the words back.
Night falls.
The villa is close to the sea, and you can see the sunset not far away by opening the white gauze window in the living room.
The sky was filled with colorful clouds, dyeing it orange.
Lin Yin sat on the cradle on the terrace, her clear eyes looking at the calm sea in the distance, but her heart had never been calm.
Hua Yurou is missing.
There is no news from Lin Ze now.
The future is bleak and there is no light in sight.
When Fu Huaijin came downstairs, he saw her in a daze. He walked up to her, pulled a chair and sat down, his eyes falling on her pretty but frustrated little face.
"Are you worried about Lin Ze?" he asked softly.
Lin Yin lowered her eyes and nodded.
Fu Huaijin comforted her, "Don't worry, I've sent someone to inquire about it. There will be news soon. I'll take him over by then, and you two siblings will feel at ease together."
Lin Yin raised her eyes, her eyes slightly floating, "Doctor Fu... Huai Jin, thank you."
"It's my duty to do something for the person I love." Fu Huaijin looked at her with burning eyes, no longer hiding his emotions.
The emotion in his eyes was strong and straightforward. Lin Yin's heart was beating wildly, not because she was moved, but because she didn't know how to respond.
"Sir, your friends are here."
The servant's voice broke the stagnant atmosphere.
Then, accompanied by the sound of footsteps, several men and women in different clothes walked in.
"Why are you here?" Fu Huaijin didn't expect them to come uninvited, so he stood up from the chair and walked into the living room.
"Since you didn't want to go when I asked you out, we came here in person to see what kind of beauty has tripped up Master Fu!"
They thought Lin Yin couldn't understand English, so she didn't speak too restrainedly.
Everyone was there, and Lin Yin couldn't just turn her back and not say hello, so she got up from the cradle, walked into the living room, smiled, and greeted everyone in English.
Fu Huaijin introduced each other's identities.
Their eyes all fell on Lin Yin's face, and their eyes lit up.
One of them, named Sam, joked, "No wonder you didn't want to keep the appointment. Are you afraid that we will eat your baby?"
Foreigners are different from Asians who are introverted and speak very openly.
Lin Yin was a little embarrassed. Just as she was about to explain, Fu Huaijin spoke before her, "Don't talk nonsense. Lin Yin is my friend."
"Oh, it's a friend~" Sam stretched out the ending of his tone and smiled meaningfully.
Four or five people sat around a coffee table covered with a white table mat.
The table was filled with fruit platters, drinks of various colors, and desserts.
Fu Huaijin started chatting with his friends. They were not speaking English, but probably the native language of the island. Lin Yin couldn't understand them anyway. But they seemed to have mentioned her. She could feel their eyes vaguely falling on her.
We didn't talk much and soon switched back to English.
Lin Yin didn't understand the topic of flirting, and she didn't want to talk much, so she just lowered her head and ate the fruit quietly and gently.
Fu Huaijin was afraid that she would feel embarrassed, so he would lower his head and talk to her from time to time. His friends would also cue her, but Lin Yinshe's fearful nature broke out, and she basically just smiled and seldom participated in the topic.
After a while, Fu Huaijin's cell phone rang and he went upstairs to answer it.
Without the familiar people around, Lin Yin felt even more embarrassed and kept drinking water.
"Miss Lin, don't always drink water. Come and try this glass of wine. This is William's collection. He is willing to take it out to entertain us when you come. Wouldn't it be a pity not to try it?"
The person who spoke was still Sam, wearing a floral shirt and white shorts, looking very casual. He had a handsome face, a typical foreign look, and a sunny and handsome smile. He didn't seem to be very old, probably about the same age as Fu Huaijin.
The remaining two, a man and a woman, looked like a couple and didn't talk much.
Lin Yin held a glass of blueberry juice and smiled politely, "Sorry, I don't drink."
Sam narrowed his eyes and smiled, "How can you not know how to drink? I'm afraid you will suffer in the future."
Lin Yin looked puzzled, not understanding what Sam meant.
Why suffer if you can’t drink?
The woman in the hot red suspender dress glanced at Sam and coughed, "Sam, don't scare the girl. William will come after you later."
"Well, it's just a drink. William's friends are our friends."
Sam handed the wine to Lin Yin, smiling, "You're not even going to give us this face, are you?"
He looked enthusiastic, but in fact his attitude was quite strong and he insisted that Lin Yin drink it.
Of course Lin Yin couldn't drink, but if she refused she was afraid that it would lose face and make it difficult for Fu Huaijin. While she was hesitating, a hand reached out and took the wine from Sam's hand.
"She doesn't like to drink, so I drank it for her."
Fu Huaijin drank the glass of dark blue wine in one gulp and gave Sam a warning look from an angle that Lin Yin couldn't see.
Sam shrugged and joked, "Tsk, tsk, tsk, I never thought our William would be so 'gentle and considerate' one day."
