[Chapter 22 My brother is in trouble]
Lin Yin had a bad feeling and took two steps back until his waist hit the glass platform, leaving him with nowhere to retreat.
Huo Jingze's tall and straight body pushed her against the sink. He lowered his head slightly, and his deep gaze fell on her little face.
"You quit so quickly, it turns out it's because you have a backup plan. How much money did he give you, huh?"
His voice was light, but it did not conceal his straightforward mockery.
Lin Yin looked up, anger in her clear eyes, "Lawyer Huo, there is nothing wrong between me and Teacher Zhang, please stop talking nonsense!"
It would be fine to talk about her, but how could she involve Zhang Langyi? Although she was a student, she also knew that if a teacher had a scandal with a student, the consequences would be serious.
The man's handsome face approached, his dark eyes narrowed slightly, "How do you prove it?"
"I……"
Lin Yin suddenly realized, why should she prove it?
I almost fell into the vicious circle of self-proof set by Huo Jingze!
She glared at the man and reached out to push him, "Believe it or not, get out of the way. I want to get out."
The man grabbed both of her wrists with one hand. Huo Jingze pressed down on her and his handsome face moved closer again, so close that she could smell his unique and refreshing scent.
"It's all about money anyway, why not sleep with me and I'll give you extra money."
Huo Jingze stared at her, the desire in his eyes was direct and strong. He admitted that Lin Yin's body was indeed addictive. After sleeping with her twice, he had gotten used to it.
Lin Yin suddenly opened her eyes wide, her eyes were wet with tears, "Huo Jingze, you are so insulting."
Huo Jingze was startled and subconsciously raised his hand to wipe her tears.
Lin Yin turned her head away, wiped away her tears with the back of her hand, turned around and resumed her cold and quiet appearance, and said word by word: "Huo Jingze, the first time I was with you was because I was desperate, and the second time was purely accidental and I didn't have enough self-control. But from today on, I will never sleep with you again, even if I die!"
After saying that, she pushed the man away, opened the bathroom door and ran out.
Her back as she left was hasty and stubborn. Huo Jingze's dark eyes darkened, and an unknown emotion flashed across his eyes.
The tutoring session was over, but the rain outside was still going on.
Huo Nian sat on the carpet, hugged Lin Yin's arm and shook it, and said coquettishly: "Sister Yin, you can leave after the rain stops, and have dinner with us by the way."
Lin Yin shook her head. "No, I'd better go back."
She didn't really want to see Huo Jingze; that man was too irritating.
Huo Nian pursed his lips and said disappointedly: "Okay then."
The servant brought an umbrella, Lin Yin took it, thanked him, and left the villa.
…
The time to leave the court was getting closer. Lin Yin lay on the bed and stared at the wall, thinking about Lin Ze's case all the time. She could neither find a lawyer nor any news about Hua Yurou, and she was completely lost.
She was so anxious that she finally felt sleepy in the second half of the night.
Early in the morning, just as the sky was getting light, Lin Yin opened her eyes, sat up abruptly, and covered her wildly beating chest with her hands. She had a nightmare that something happened to Lin Ze in prison.
"Buzz-buzz-buzz-buzz-"
The cell phone beside the pillow suddenly rang briefly. Lin Yin had a bad feeling. She turned over the phone and her pupils dilated slightly.
It's a call from the police!
She quickly picked up the phone, and a male voice came from inside: "Lin Ze suddenly fell ill and is now in the First People's Hospital. Family members, please come over."
Something really happened to my brother!
Lin Yin's heart tightened. He quickly got out of bed, washed up, picked up his schoolbag, ran out of the school and headed straight for the hospital.
There were two men in uniform standing in the ward. Lin Ze was lying on the bed, his face was gray and his lips were pale and bloodless.
Lin Yin held Lin Ze's hand and looked at the police nervously, "What happened to my brother? Why did he suddenly fall ill?"
Someone replied to her: "The hospital said it was your brother's old illness."
"Old illness..." Lin Yin frowned. How come she didn't know that her brother had an old illness?
"By the way, Lin Ze's medical expenses total 20,000 yuan."
One of them gave her the receipt, meaning that he wanted her to pay.
Lin Yin's face turned pale. She had just started working part-time for less than a month and had not yet received any payment. She only had 10,000 yuan on her.
"I don't have that much money with me right now. Can I pay the bill tomorrow?" she asked embarrassedly.
"Can."
Lin Yin's gaze fell back on Lin Ze's face, her heart aching.
She didn't believe that a healthy person would suddenly fall ill, unless...
Lin Yin bit her lip unconsciously, many guesses flashed through her mind, and the suspect all pointed to the same person.
But raising money is the most important thing now, so she suppressed her speculations and left the hospital in a hurry.
When she returned to school, her roommate saw that she looked very worried and asked her a few questions out of concern.
Lin Yin told her roommates about her brother's hospitalization. Her roommates were worried but could do nothing to help. Their families were not well off and they simply could not borrow 10,000 yuan.
"Xiaoyin, why don't you ask your employer if you can withdraw your salary in advance," Li Fuling suggested.
Lin Yin pursed her lips. It’s not like she hadn’t thought about it, but she had just had a fight with Huo Jingze a few days ago…
When people are in trouble, they have to bow to reality. When they have no money, how can they have any backbone?
Lin Yin decided to risk her reputation and look for Huo Jingze.
She still remembered the password to the apartment and stood at the door with a silent smile. She could imagine how mocking Huo Jingze would be when he saw her when he came home.
She opened the door and went in. The ingredients in the refrigerator seemed to have not been moved and remained in the same quantity as before.
Lin Yin selected some of Huo Jingze’s favorite dishes, put on an apron, and started cooking.
…
As soon as Huo Jingze walked into the entrance hall, he smelled the aroma of food floating in the air... a very familiar smell.
He walked into the living room and ran into Lin Yin who was coming out of the kitchen.
Lin Yin had beads of sweat on her forehead as she held a bowl of fragrant pork rib soup in her hand.
When she saw the man, she was startled and her face turned slightly red. "Lawyer Huo, I, I have prepared dinner."
Huo Jingze looked indifferent, as if he was not surprised.
Lin Ze was hospitalized due to a sudden illness. He knew that Lin Yin's sudden appearance was simply because he was short of money.
He raised his hands to unbutton two shirt buttons, loosening the restraints on his neck, then glanced up at her, turned and walked towards the bedroom.
Lin Yin couldn't figure out what he meant, so she could only put the soup on the dining table, then sat on the sofa and waited quietly.
Ten minutes later, the man came out of the bedroom. His short black hair was wet and he was wearing a loose bathrobe. His strong chest muscles were exposed. Further down, his six-pack abs and mermaid line were faintly visible...
Lin Yin turned her head away unnaturally.
Huo Jingze poured a glass of red wine, sat on the single sofa, drank slowly, and ignored Lin Yin.
Lin Yin bit her lip and took the initiative to speak, "Lawyer Huo, the meal is ready. It will get cold if you don't eat it now."
Huo Jingze pretended not to hear and was leisurely browsing his phone.
“…”
The feeling of being ignored is quite uncomfortable. In the past, Lin Yin would probably turn around and leave, but not now. She must please Huo Jingze.
Lin Yin got up and walked into the restaurant. After a while, she came out with the food and placed it on the small coffee table next to Huo Jingze.
She forced a smile and fed a piece of fish to the man, "Lawyer Huo, try it. This is your favorite steamed fish."
