【Chapter 473 Wedding Date】
"Xiaoyin, are you asleep?" Fu Huaijin's voice came from outside the door, with a bit of tenderness.
Lin Yin huddled in the quilt, her teeth chattering uncontrollably. She endured the chill and replied in a hoarse voice, "I... I feel a little uncomfortable, so I'm going to bed."
Upon hearing this, Fu Huaijin frowned slightly, reached out to turn the doorknob, and found that the door was not locked, so he gently pushed the door open and walked in.
There was only a dim night light on in the room. With the weak light, he saw Lin Yin curled up in the corner of the bed, wrapped tightly in the quilt, with only a pale face exposed.
"What's wrong, Xiaoyin?" Fu Huaijin approached the bed and asked with concern.
He reached out to touch Lin Yin's forehead, but she subconsciously dodged.
"Don't... don't touch me. I might have a fever and I'm afraid of infecting you." Lin Yin shrank into the quilt, his voice full of nasal tone.
Fu Huaijin's hand froze in mid-air, and a hint of displeasure flashed across his eyes, but was quickly replaced by worry.
He pressed the call bell at the bedside and said to the servant who came over: "Go and ask the doctor to come over, hurry up."
After the servant left in a hurry, Fu Huaijin sat by the bed and looked at Lin Yin, "Why did you suddenly have a fever? Did you catch a cold in the garden?"
Lin Yin did not answer, but just trembled slightly. She had a splitting headache at the moment and really did not have the energy to deal with Fu Huaijin.
After a while, the doctor came and examined Lin Yin.
"Mr. Fu, Miss Lin has a high fever caused by catching a cold. I will prescribe antipyretic medicine first."
Fu Huaijin nodded and took the medicine from the doctor. "Xiaoyin, take the medicine. Only by taking the medicine can the disease be cured."
Lin Yin sat up with difficulty, took the medicine and water handed to her by Fu Huaijin, and swallowed them with her head tilted back.
"I want to sleep. You should go back and rest too." Lin Yin lay back and said weakly.
Fu Huaijin looked at her, the desire in his eyes was replaced by helplessness, "Okay, you have a good rest, and call the servants if you need anything."
After saying that, he sighed softly, turned his wheelchair and left the room.
Lin Yin looked at Fu Huaijin's departing back, and her tense nerves finally relaxed.
I managed to escape it, although the price was a bit high.
But she would rather have a high fever than be touched by that devil Fu Huaijin.
…
Half asleep and half awake, beads of sweat appeared on Lin Yin's forehead. Her pajamas were soaked with sweat and stuck to her body.
Her consciousness was a little fuzzy, and memories of the past kept flashing through her mind: Jiang Yu's tragic death, Huo Jingze's deep affection, and Fu Huaijin's disgusting face.
After an unknown amount of time, Lin Yin slowly opened his eyes. The room was dark, with only a few faint moonlight coming in from the window.
She moved her body and found that the fever seemed to have subsided a little. She was no longer as hot and weak as before.
Lin Yin gently lifted the quilt, sat up, and rubbed his dizzy head.
She looked out the window at the quiet night, and thought of the brief reunion with Huo Jingze in the garden, and a warmth welled up in her heart.
The wedding was scheduled for ten days later.
If all goes well, everything will be over.
Two days later, Lin Yin's illness was completely cured. Fu Huaijin had several wedding dresses sent to Lin Yin for her to choose from.
The servants carefully hung several wedding dresses on the hangers. The bright white gauze sparkled in the dim light like dreamy clouds.
Lin Yin stood in front of the wedding dress, but her heart was calm. Each piece of clothing seemed like a shackle that trapped her.
Fu Huaijin came in in a wheelchair and his eyes fell on Lin Yin: "Xiaoyin, take a look and see if there is anything you like. They are all works by top designers."
Lin Yin forced a smile, her fingertips casually running across the soft fabric: "They are all beautiful, but I'm a little dazzled and don't know how to choose."
Fu Huaijin came to her side and pointed at the wedding dress inlaid with tiny diamonds. "This one suits you very well. Try it on."
Lin Yin slightly turned sideways to avoid Fu Huaijin's overly intimate touch, "Okay."
She entered the fitting room.
The servant helped her put on her wedding dress.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she was a little dazed for a moment.
Many years ago, when she was still secretly in love with Fu Huaijin, she had fantasized about wearing a wedding dress and marrying him.
But she never thought about how the handsome and bright boy in her memory could become a demon later.
His cruelty and viciousness turned the memories she once thought were beautiful into a cancer.
Lin Yin took a deep breath and slowly walked out of the fitting room.
Although the woman in front of him was no longer as beautiful as she was six years ago, in Fu Huaijin's eyes, she was still the same as when she had just graduated.
Those distinct black and white eyes were still clear and bright, which was his favorite look.
He turned his wheelchair to her, with surprise in his eyes: "Xiaoyin, you are still so beautiful."
Lin Yin smiled faintly, "Then let's go with this one."
Fu Huaijin held her hand and exerted a little force, "Xiaoyin, after we get married, I will give you everything you want."
Lin Yin sneered in her heart, but pretended to be touched on the surface: "Well, I believe you."
"Go to bed early. I will arrange the wedding matters. You don't have to worry about it." Fu Huaijin said.
Lin Yin nodded, turned back to the fitting room and changed out of her wedding dress.
When I came out, Fu Huaijin was no longer in the room.
The servant carefully put away the wedding dress and asked softly, "Miss Lin, do you need anything else?"
Lin Yin shook her head. "No need. You guys should go and rest too."
After the servants left, Lin Yin sat alone on the bed, looking at the night outside the window.
Her mind kept replaying every moment with Huo Jingze; those brief reunions seemed to be her only comfort.
"Hold on for another ten days..." Lin Yin murmured softly, silently cheering herself up.
In the next few days, Fu Huaijin seemed to be busy with wedding preparations and rarely appeared in front of Lin Yin.
Lin Lele had some free time. He took a walk in the garden every day, occasionally chatted with the servants, and tried his best to look calm.
The night before the wedding, Fu Huaijin suddenly came to Lin Yin's room.
He held an exquisite ring in his hand and had a gentle smile on his face.
"Xiaoyin, this is the wedding ring I specially customized for you. Take a look at it and see if you like it." He handed the ring to Lin Yin.
Lin Yin took the ring and looked down at it.
The ring is inlaid with a dazzling diamond, shining brightly.
She raised her head and smiled, "Very beautiful."
Fu Huaijin nodded with satisfaction and reached out to hold her hand. "Xiaoyin, tomorrow is our wedding. You are finally going to be my wife."
Lin Yin's fingers trembled slightly, but she quickly controlled her emotions and said softly: "Yes, I will finally become your wife."
A trace of satisfaction flashed in Fu Huaijin's eyes. He lowered his head and gently kissed the back of Lin Yin's hand. "Have a good rest. Tomorrow I will make you the happiest bride."
Lin Yin nodded and watched Fu Huaijin leave the room.
The moment the door closed, her smile disappeared instantly, replaced by a hint of coldness.
She walked to the window, looked at the night in the distance, and prayed silently in her heart: "Jingze, everything will go well..."
