Gu Yufei cursed as she walked, "This madman is really crazy!" Her footsteps made a rustling sound on the thick fallen leaves. She kept looking back alertly, fearing that Zhang Ling would suddenly appear.
"Ma de can't run anymore." Gu Yufei leaned against the tree trunk and rested.
Perhaps her body had reached its limit, and she fell asleep without realizing it.
In the distance, soldiers quietly followed her trail.
Zhang Ling's well-trained scouts, as sharp as hounds, pinpointed her location. Normally, these scouts were only used to track down important enemy figures, but now they were being used to track down a woman. A mocking smile played at the corner of the scout captain's lips.
"That's her, right?"
"No matter whether she is or not, just catch her and bring her back."
The soldiers talked in low voices and surrounded Gu Yufei from the outside.
When Gu Yufei woke up, she was surrounded by soldiers.
They tied up Gu Yufei tightly and immediately took her back to the camp to report to Zhang Ling.
When Gu Yufei was brought in front of Zhang Ling, their eyes collided in the air and sparks flew.
There were complex emotions flashing in Zhang Ling's eyes, including pride and deep persistence.
"I finally caught you, Gu Yufei." Zhang Ling stood up and slowly walked towards her with a hint of teasing in his tone.

Anger welled up in Gu Yufei's heart, but she suppressed her emotions, not wanting Zhang Ling to see her cowardice. She sneered, "Humph, who do you want to threaten with me?"
Zhang Ling laughed heartily, his voice revealing madness. "Who am I threatening? Who else in this world do you think can rival me? Is it the Duanhuang clan in prison, or the Emperor of Du?"
"Are you crazy?" Gu Yufei couldn't help but say.
"I'm crazy. I went crazy the moment I saw you. Someone, lock her up."
He ordered the soldiers to detain Gu Yufei, but he did not immediately take more drastic action against Gu Yufei.
Gu Yufei was locked up alone in a wooden house, her hands were chained, restricting her range of movement.
After Zhang Ling imprisoned her, he unexpectedly ordered his men to prepare a comfortable environment for Gu Yufei.
The soldiers were ordered to lay out soft bedding for her, and provide warm food and clear drinking water.
When these items were brought to Gu Yufei, she felt confused.
Zhang Ling, what is he trying to do? Gu Yufei thought to herself, she looked at everything in front of her warily, not understanding why Zhang Ling treated her like this.
"The general ordered that you be made comfortable," the soldier delivering the things whispered, a hint of sympathy in his eyes.
Gu Yufei watched the soldier leave quietly, then her eyes fell on the warm bedding and delicious food. She knew that Zhang Ling must have his own intentions for doing this, perhaps it was some kind of psychological tactic.
"So tired and hungry," Gu Yufei whispered. She couldn't resist the exhaustion and hunger.
After struggling for a long time, she tried to lie down and rest, savoring the food and recovering her strength. But she was always on guard, because she knew Zhang Ling's methods would never be so simple.
A few days later, Zhang Ling personally went to the place where Gu Yufei was imprisoned. He found that although Gu Yufei looked tired, her mental state did not seem to be greatly affected.
"How are you doing here?" Zhang Ling asked, with a hint of inquiry in his voice.
Gu Yufei replied calmly: "Better than you think."
Zhang Ling smiled slightly, a complex light flashed in his eyes. He looked at Gu Yufei deeply and turned away.
Zhang Ling hoped that in this way, he could gradually break down Gu Yufei's psychological defenses and make her finally submit to him.
