Chapter 228 Confession

Gu Yufei and Gu Yunfei decided to disguise themselves and set off.

Gu Yufei wore a conical hat and a thin veil on her face, revealing only a pair of bright eyes.

Behind them were a dozen guards, all of whom were simply disguised and looked like a group of ordinary travelers.

The morning sun shone on them, illuminating their slender figures. Gu Yunfei glanced around from time to time, alert to any possible danger.

Yunque and his companions carried bags on their backs and hidden weapons on their waists, ready to deal with emergencies at any time.

The group walked along the winding mountain road, with dense woods and steep peaks on both sides, and occasionally the sound of birds broke the silence.

Gu Yufei and Gu Yunfei walked while talking in low voices, their voices carried away by the wind, leaving only some vague fragments.

Suddenly, Gu Yunfei stopped, his ears sensitive enough to detect a subtle sound. It felt like distant footsteps, or the whistling of wind across the eaves. His brow furrowed slightly, a hint of vigilance in his eyes.

"Everyone, be careful. I sense something strange around here," Gu Yunfei whispered. His voice was particularly clear in the silent woods. Yun Que and the others stopped and looked around nervously.

"We can't let our guard down, there may be danger approaching."

An ominous premonition flashed through Gu Yufei's mind.

Sure enough, a group of people suddenly surrounded them.

Watson walked up to Gu Yufei, his tone full of concern: "Miss Qiu Shuang, come back with us. We can guarantee your safety."

Gu Yufei raised her head, looked at Watson with a firm gaze, and slowly shook her head: "No, I can't go back with you."

Watson tried to persuade her: "Miss Qiu Shuang, the situation is very dangerous now. It is better to go back with us than to be without shelter."

Gu Yufei smiled and said, "Watson, tell your master that these tricks are unnecessary."

Watson sighed helplessly. He knew Gu Yufei's character. Once she made a decision, it was difficult to change it. He turned his head and looked at the group of people behind him. He said, "You guys step aside first. I need to talk to Miss Qiu Shuang alone about something."

Gu Yunfei saw that Watson had no ill intentions, so he signaled to Yunque and the others to retreat.

In an instant, only Gu Yufei and Watson were left.

Watson looked at Gu Yufei solemnly and said slowly, "There is something I have always wanted to tell you. In fact, the prince consort has always had you in his heart, and his feelings for you are not false."

Gu Yufei stared at Watson with wide eyes in disbelief, a complex emotion welling up in her heart. She had always thought that Duan Yu only used and deceived her, and never thought that he would have such feelings for her.

Watson continued, "Moreover, the father of the child in the princess's belly is someone else, not the prince consort."

Gu Yufei's face turned pale instantly, and her body trembled slightly, as if she could not bear this huge blow. She had always thought that the princess and Duan Yu were a loving couple, but she did not expect that there was such a secret hidden behind them.

"How is this possible..." Gu Yufei muttered to herself.

This amount of information

It was too big and she couldn't accept it.

Watson comforted him, "I know this is hard for you to accept, but this is the truth. The prince consort..."

Gu Yufei interrupted Watson. She raised her head and looked at him firmly: "Watson, did the prince consort tell you this in person?"
