Chapter 453: Heresy
It seems they left quickly and came back quickly too.
There were only two people when we left, but a group of people when we came back.
Old Wei's wife Zhang Qiaozhen and Wei Qiang came. After eating a meal of stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots, Wei Qiang still had tears in his eyes, but he looked stubborn, and every cell in his body was filled with resentment.
Zhou Sisi, the little girl from the Zhou family who received his gift, and her father Comrade Zhou also came. The little girl was holding an ugly rag doll in her hand.
Mrs. Zhou didn't come. She was not in the family area. She went back to her hometown to visit her sick mother.
Then came Mrs. Lei and the others who came to join in the fun.
The originally spacious yard became crowded because of the influx of this group of people.
Wen Shi brought out stools and chairs and asked them to sit down. After greeting everyone, Yi Chichi looked at Zhou Sisi and said, "Sisi, can your baby be shown to your aunt?"
"Give!"
This was a generous and reasonable little girl. When she heard Yi Chichi wanted a doll, she handed it to him without saying a word. However, the words that came out of her bright red little mouth touched Wei Qiang's heart.
She said, "This doll is so ugly. I didn't want it when Qiangzi gave it to me, but he threatened me by crying, so I had no choice but to accept it."
As she spoke, she spread her hands like a little adult and said helplessly, "I thought he was sewing a rag doll out of scraps. If Uncle Wei and Uncle Wen hadn't come to me, I wouldn't have known he was using Uncle Wei's clothes."
Everyone saluted Wei Qiang in unison. It would have been fine if they hadn't looked, but when they did, they realized that Wei Qiang's mouth was covered by his father, and his face turned red from holding it in.
Wen Shi quickly reached out his hand, "Old Wei, let go. Why are you covering the child's mouth? Let him say whatever he wants to say."
Let them see how fun it is.
He didn't say this, but everyone who knew him well smiled meaningfully, and then asked Wei Qiang one by one why he thought of making a rag doll for Zhou Sisi.
Yi Chichi was also quite interested. She was not in a hurry to take apart the doll, but waited for Wei Qiang's answer with interest.
Wei Qiang, who could breathe freely with his mouth free again, was not afraid when he heard the questions from his uncles and aunts. Instead, he glared at Comrade Lao Zhou angrily before starting to explain the secret to everyone.
"Uncle Zhou refused to give Sisi a birthday present, and she was so angry that she started crying. I thought making a rag doll wouldn't be difficult, so I sewed one for her."
This answer was beyond everyone's expectations. However, Zhang Qiaozhen said calmly, "The doll Sisi Si wants isn't an ugly one like you. She wants a Western-style doll."
There are dolls for sale now, including Barbie dolls that can be dressed up and combed, but they are only sold in Friendship Stores, not in department stores.
The price is not cheap, and most parents are reluctant to and do not have the ability to buy it for their children.
Old Zhou is the best example. He moved his lips for a long time before finally saying, "Qiangzi, do you know how much the doll Sisi wants is?"
"have no idea."
Wei Qiang shook his head and said confidently, "I've never bought it before, and I don't have the money to buy it, so I can only make it myself."
Old Wei laughed in anger, "Then why don't you cut your own clothes?"
"Dad, your clothes are too big, so it won't matter if I use a little cloth. My clothes are too small, and if I cut them, there will be a big piece missing. Mom has a hard time patching them for me."
Everyone was speechless.
This kid seems to be a bit of a logical genius, and what he says makes a lot of sense.
But they are all fallacies and heresies.
I only show consideration for my mother, but not for my father at all.
After a brief moment of shock, everyone burst into laughter.
Yi Chi Chi laughed so hard that he couldn't close his mouth and said, "This doll you made is quite ugly."
Wei Qiang was a strong and rational child. He glanced at the doll and didn't defend himself. Instead, he smiled shyly and said, "I know, but this is the only way I can make it."
This took him quite a while, and he even pricked himself several times while sewing.
"Aunt, can you help me make it look better?"
He came over and pointed at the rag doll in Yi Chichi's hand.
"No."
Yi hesitantly refused, "I have to take the doll apart and mend the clothes for your father."
"but……"
Wei Qiang's dim face lit up again, and he asked with a blazing gaze, "What?"
"You can ask your mother for some unwanted scraps of cloth, and your aunt will sew another one for you."
"I have one at home."
Zhou Sisi immediately raised her little hand and said in a clear voice, "My mom has a lot of scraps of cloth. Auntie, can you help me make a nice doll? I'll ask Dad for the money."
"No, I have to come. It's the birthday present we agreed on."
Before Yi Chizhi could answer, Wei Qiang began to argue.
Then, the two children entered into a heated argument.
The adults ignored them and let them make as much noise as they wanted. As long as they didn't fight to the death, they could do whatever they wanted.
It's normal for children to fight and play around, just get used to it.
So, a group of adults entered the mode of watching the show.
Yi Chi Chi quickly took apart the doll and said, "Wei Qiang has the potential to sew."
Zhang Qiaozhen, "??? Qiangzi does needlework?"
"Yes."
She nodded. "This child was able to learn to sew dolls without any instruction. Although her sewing is a little ugly, with crooked stitches and uneven stitches, she managed to sew the dolls."
Old Wei was delighted when he heard this. "That's great. When he grows up, he can work in a factory."
When they heard this, their foreheads were filled with black lines. Lao Wei was good in every way except that he was not very sensitive to wind direction.
But no one reminded him, fearing that the walls might have ears.
So I agreed with what he said.
Yi Chichi glanced at everyone and silently took off the wool strands that served as hair from the cloth.
Then she flattened the unraveled cloth and put it aside, took the needle and thread and began to sew.
After sewing just a few stitches, Zhou Sisi and Wei Qiang finally agreed to divide the scraps of cloth for making the doll equally.
Then, they each went to find their parents.
The child doesn't want to use new cloth, but to make a rag doll with scraps of cloth. There is no reason for parents to refuse.
I can't afford it and I'm reluctant to spend the money to buy it, so it's good to use the existing resources to fulfill my child's wish.
So Zhang Qiaozhen and Lao Zhou went home to get the scraps of cloth.
Lao Wei and Wen Shi were chatting with the others, while Mrs. Lei and the others were watching Yi Chichi sew stitches, ready to learn some experience.
The more I looked, the more desperate I became.
You can’t learn it. You really can’t learn it at all.
Her hands were moving too fast, and even though she didn't have a ruler, the stitches Yi Chi produced were as tight, detailed, and smooth as those produced by a sewing machine.
"No, how do you move this needle?"
"That's how I left."
Yi Chichi said without even looking up, "Just watch and practice more, and you'll naturally get it when you're familiar with it."
Lao Lei, who was chatting with Wen Shi and the others nearby, heard this and immediately said, "My wife is not good at sewing, so I am the one who does all the mending at home."
"You only do mending. I have to take care of shoes and socks."
Mrs. Lei immediately retorted, and when she heard that their focus was different, she asked, "Old Lei, can you sew?"
"You don't know how?"
"meeting!"
in unison.
When I didn’t have a wife, I had to mend my clothes, shoes and socks myself when they were torn. As for how to mend them, it depends on personal preference.
