Chapter 14: Should I compose a song?
Han Yunxing and her friends skipped one round and politely declined the invitations from the others.
The hall was brightly lit and shimmering, and a band carefully selected by the host was playing melodious music. The guests, dressed in fine clothes, chatted and exchanged pleasantries while holding wine glasses.
As the protagonist's only child, Jung Sung-woo is undoubtedly the center of attention among the young guests at the banquet, and is now dancing gracefully to the music in the center of the dance floor.
Han Yunxing smiled as she looked at Zheng Chengyou, who was exceptionally adept at socializing.
However, this good mood quickly disappeared.
Seeing the person walking towards her from not far away, Han Yunxing's dimples disappeared as she raised the corners of her mouth, and her eyes turned cold.
"Yunxing, your aunt misses you so much."
Han Min-sook gave Han Yoon-sung a warm hug, and afterwards, she lingered on Han Yoon-sung's soft hands, seemingly unaware of Han Yoon-sung's cold expression.
"That's great, Yunxing, you look much better." Han Minshu said with a smile, then led the twins next to her to greet Han Yunxing.
The child, just starting junior high, couldn't compare to his mother's level of cultivation. His eyes held a mocking glint, and he didn't seem inclined to greet her properly.
"Hello, Sister Yunxing." "Mom, didn't you say before that singers and dancers have no future?"
Each one was more perfunctory than the last.
Han Minshu wasn't embarrassed by the children's words. She glanced at them with a half-smile, and the two children fell silent.
Han Yunxing treated it as a show, and somewhat boredly reached out to fiddle with the plain ring on her index finger, letting Han Minshu's words go in one ear and out the other.
"Studying hard... doesn't mean you can't be an idol..."
“Your brother and sister-in-law are gone; they didn’t teach you these things. As your aunt, I can’t just watch you go down the wrong path…”
Han Yunxing suddenly looked into Han Minshu's eyes, her expression both mocking and indifferent.
"You can't get what you want from me, but I can make you lose what you have."
Han Min-sook's face contorted for a moment, and her eyes drooped.
So don't mess with me.
Han Yunxing had no interest in engaging in any more fake socializing with her aunt's family, so she picked up her glass and left the banquet hall to get some fresh air.
Han Min-sook only loosened her grip after hearing her daughter's cry of pain.
She bent down and rubbed her daughter's reddened arm, letting out a cold snort from her nose.
The clamor was left behind, and the meticulously tended flowerbeds in the courtyard were hidden in the darkness, but the refreshing fragrance soothed Han Yunxing's throbbing brain.
Han Yunxing threw herself onto a bench and looked up at the moon in the sky.
As memories merge, the barrier between the two lifetimes is broken down, and Han Yunxing fully accepts her parents from her memories, the parents who would smile and call her "Princess-nim."
How annoying.
I really hate it when Han Min-sook pretends to be nice to me in place of my parents every time.
After the banquet, Han Yoon-sung politely declined her uncle's family's offer to stay overnight and got into her car to return to her residence in Cheongdam-dong.
At this moment, Han Yunxing changed back into her casual clothes and leaned back on the sofa, lost in thought.
There was only one lamp in the hall, casting a dim yellow light.
Feeling a bit confused, Han Yunxing slammed the door shut.
*
Han Yunxing was surprised to find people still in the practice room at this early hour.
After a casual greeting, Han Yunxing immediately got into character, following the beat of the drums.
Having not practiced for several days, Han Yunxing tied her hair in a high ponytail and danced to the music over and over again, her chaotic thoughts disappearing completely from her body with the sweat.
The trainees in Class A haven't seen Han Yunxing for several days; they heard she went on vacation.
They stared dumbfounded at Han Yunxing, who was jumping around more and more excitedly inside the room.
Has Han Yunxing been traumatized? She's so energetic in the middle of the night!
Shaking her head in surprise, the girls who had practiced all day were going back to rest, leaving Han Yunxing alone in the practice room.
Dancing precisely to the beat, the girl under the spotlight exudes a silent charm. Han Yunxing's dance style is a rare lightness in the industry. Her body is highly flexible, and her agile body allows her to complete difficult moves smoothly and beautifully.
However, lightness does not mean a lack of power in the dance. Han Yunxing's ballet training from a young age has given her a strong control over her body and a strong core. She has maintained the habit of extending her power to her fingertips, and her dance movements are not only well-executed but also have a unique charm.
Bending down to turn off the stereo, Han Yunxing picked up a towel and wiped the sweat from her face and neck.
Exercising intensely and sweating it out really makes me feel great!
Han Yunxing left the practice room in a bright mood; only one room at the end of the corridor still had its lights on.
Curious, Han Yunxing stood on tiptoe and looked through the glass at Ren Xuanzhi, who was writing something with his head down inside.
Isn't your senior supposed to be making a comeback soon? Why are you still at the company so late?
Impressed by Ren Xuanzhi's efforts, Han Yunxing decided it was best not to disturb the people inside and turned to walk towards the stairwell.
Task Four: Create a song
Task Reward: Advanced Creative Class
"Yunxing, you're still here so late~"
The system's mechanical voice and the man's voice behind him rang in Han Yunxing's ears at the same time.
Han Yunxing followed Ren Xuanzhi into the recording studio with a restrained air. Ren Xuanzhi put all the scattered crumpled papers into the wastebasket and pulled out a chair from the side.
Han Yunxing ignored the open notebook on the table and tilted her head to ask Ren Xuanzhi, "When is Xuanzhi oppa making a comeback?"
"The company is still discussing the specific time, but it's estimated to be next month." Ren Xuanzhi propped his head up with one hand and rubbed his slightly sore brow with the other.
"I will support BT!"
Upon hearing this, Ren Xuanzhi's eyes crinkled into crescent moons with laughter, revealing his pearly white teeth.
He suddenly had an inspiration today and came to the company to record it, but he was not satisfied with it later and revised it until midnight.
I had just finished what I was doing when I looked up and saw a face at the door.
Actually, Ren Xuanzhi was startled just now, with all sorts of ghost stories about the company running through his mind. Only after taking a closer look did he realize it was Han Yunxing.
Seeing Han Yunxing looking at the equipment in the room with some curiosity, Ren Xuanzhi suddenly had a thought.
"Does Yunxing want to learn songwriting?"
Ren Xuanzhi's first impression of Han Yunxing was that she was a beautiful junior, but after the last gathering, his impression changed to that of a talented junior.
"I have had that idea, but it seems difficult to get started."
I was at a loss as to what to do about the new tasks the system was giving me.
Im Hyun-sik successfully grasped the creative inspiration and was in a good mood. Hearing Han Yoon-sung's answer, he happily introduced her to some basic knowledge of creation and showed her the music production software.
When they finally stopped, Ren Xuanzhi realized he had been chatting with Han Yunxing for an hour, and scratched his head somewhat embarrassedly.
"I'm sorry, Yunxing, it's already very late."
Han Yunxing wasn't very sleepy; the dopamine released from dancing had made her quite alert. However, she knew she should leave; it wasn't appropriate for a man and woman to be alone in a company room late at night.
"I want to thank Hyun-sik oppa today. I will work hard!"
After saying goodbye to Ren Xuanzhi, Han Yunxing planned to go back.
Im Hyun-sik also encouraged Han Yoon-sung, hoping she could start learning to create and that they could collaborate in the future.
Once she lay down on the bed, the feeling of exhaustion spread throughout her body. Han Yunxing huffed and puffed as she stretched her hand out from under the covers, insisting on scrolling through her phone for ten minutes before bed.
Seeing photos of the coffee shop opening and after-party shared by Kwon Ji-yong on his social media, Han Yoon-sung gave it a like.
Before she could even put her phone down, Han Yunxing received a voice call from Kwon Ji-yong.
"Oppa, congratulations again! The atmosphere in the photos looks great!"
Han Yunxing simply put her phone next to her pillow and curled up in the blanket.
"Yunxing, did you have fun today?"
The breathing on the other end of the phone was clearly audible, and it took Kwon Ji-ryong a while to hear Han Yoon-sung's voice.
"Yes! I'm happy!"
Kwon Ji-yong was sitting on a wicker chair on the balcony smoking when he heard the reply from the other side. His slightly furrowed brows relaxed, and he exhaled a puff of white smoke into the darkness.
He was worried that the girl would feel down when she met someone she didn't like, but now that he could feel Han Yunxing's positive emotions, he was finally relieved.
The two chatted for a while longer. Kwon Ji-yong was sharing gossip he had heard at the party with Han Yoon-sung. As they talked, his steady breathing came from the other end of the line.
Han Yunxing fell asleep.
With a chuckle, Kwon Ji-yong shook his head and said gently to the person opposite him, "Yoon-sung, sweet dreams."
Having expended too much energy, Han Yunxing had the unusual urge to stay in bed the next day.
After getting up, Han Yunxing stretched and felt waves of soreness in her body.
Han Yunxing did stretching exercises at home for half an hour before getting ready to go to the company.
Han Yunxing carried a bag of oranges brought back from Jeju Island. As soon as she arrived at the dormitory, she was surrounded by Yun Qi and Jin Zhiyu.
"Yoonsung unnie, I miss you so much!"
Yun Qi hugged Han Yunxing's hand, rested her head on her shoulder, and whispered sweetly.
Kim Ji-woo watched Han Yoon-sung and Yun-ki standing together, her eyes crinkling with laughter. She peeled an orange and fed each of them two segments.
The oranges from Jeju Island have thin peels and are sweet and juicy. As soon as you take a bite, the refreshing pulp bursts in your mouth, and the three of them squint their eyes in enjoyment.
With Task Four in mind, Han Yunxing took the initiative to talk to the vocal coach after this daily training session.
"Yunxing wants to learn songwriting?"
The vocal coach looked at the person in front of him with some surprise. He naturally liked this talented and strong student very much.
Han Yunxing doesn't have any good ideas for creating art, and even getting started is difficult for her.
The vocal coach pondered for a moment, hesitating whether to recommend Han Yunxing to the company's production team.
After all, he is just a trainee, and we haven't seen any creative talent from Han Yunxing yet. We're not confident that he can impress the producers.
However, the company was happy to discover the trainees' abilities in this area, and seeing that Han Yunxing took the initiative to bring it up, the vocal coach finally agreed to recommend her to Teacher Sun from the producer team.
After a practice session one day, the vocal coach gave Han Yunxing a positive response.
With anticipation, Han Yunxing stepped out of the elevator on the 6th floor.
