Chapter 35 Wounded

Chapter 35 Wounded

The crew of "Sky Castle"

Han Yunxing moved a small stool and sat down to watch the performances of her seniors on set when she suddenly heard someone call her name from behind.

"Nuna, you're here."

Han Yunxing turned her head and saw that Jiang Canxi had also moved a stool and sat down next to her, the small fan in her hand tilting towards the boy.

"I really want to become a famous actress like my seniors," Jiang Canxi said, her eyes shining as she turned to Han Yunxing.

Like Han Yoon-sung, Kang Chan-hee is an idol. Born in 2000, he started as a child star and debuted with his group last year. Although he is the younger brother, Han Yoon-sung still has to call him senior.

"We can do it!" Hearing Jiang Canxi's words, which were filled with envy mixed with a lack of confidence, Han Yunxing smiled and revealed her white teeth: "We will walk the flower path."

A gentle breeze caressed Han Yunxing's long hair, and the sunlight playfully danced on her silky tresses. The girl's gentle smile made Jiang Canxi's lips curl into a wide, infectious grin.

"Noona, do you want to go over the scene we're going to do later again?"

Jiang Canxi gave an excuse for finding Han Yunxing: the weather was sunny and perfect for filming outdoor scenes, and they would be reshooting the scene where the two first met in the drama.

Han Yunxing adjusted the blanket covering her legs and readily agreed.

The first time Jiang Yirui met Huang Yuzhou was on a sunny day. She was walking down the street when the annoying twins from next door rode by on their bikes, yelling strangely. Startled, she sat on the lap of the boy on the bench next to her.

The books in her hands scattered on the ground, and Jiang Yirui turned her head and bumped into Huang Yuzhou's warm eyes.

"Are you alright?" the boy asked with concern, putting down what he was holding.

Jiang Yirui then realized what was happening, suppressed her flustered emotions, and immediately got off his lap: "I don't need your help!"

She proudly snatched the books Huang Yuzhou had helped her pick up and strode away—this was their dramatic first encounter.

Han Yunxing tilted her head and listened attentively to Jiang Canxi's advice on positioning later when she was suddenly patted on the back.

"Hello, senior."

Han Yunxing was a little uncomfortable with such close physical contact with Zhao Binggui. Although he was her classmate in the drama and the twin brother who often bullied Jiang Yirui, Han Yunxing didn't like some of the things he said during breaks in filming.

Especially the expression of disapproval he shows now after being called a senior, even though he often lecturing children while posing as a senior.

"Does Yunxing still call me senior?"

Zhao Binggui came out for a smoke. He saw some staff filming behind-the-scenes footage of the two people not far away, so he stubbed out his cigarette and walked directly to the middle to separate them.

Noticing the barely perceptible impatience in Han Yunxing's eyes, Jiang Canxi quickly put her arm around Zhao Binggui's shoulder and pulled him towards her: "Brother, you've come at the right time. Let's rehearse our blocking later."

Zhao Binggui smirked and accepted the way out offered by Jiang Canxi, no longer dwelling on how Han Yunxing addressed him.

However, when it came to the actual filming, Han Yoon-sung's impression of Jo Byung-gyu was refreshed once again.

The bicycle passed by Han Yunxing after repeatedly hitting the board, either riding too fast or completely obscuring Han Yunxing's face.

The key point is that Cho Byung-gyu's apology was very sincere, taking all the responsibility upon himself, leaving the staff with no room for criticism.

The director finally figured it out and simply grabbed a megaphone and shouted, "Can Ki-joon ride a bike? If not, replace him!"

Zhao Binggui almost lost his smile and quickly bowed to the director to apologize.

After being pointed out by the director, Zhao Binggui stopped causing trouble. However, whether intentionally or accidentally, when passing Han Yunxing, his hand holding the handlebars slipped and he brushed against Han Yunxing's calf as he rode past.

Han Yunxing's fright was nine parts real and one part acting; the book in her hand scattered all over the floor as she grabbed Jiang Canxi's shoulder.

The director didn't yell "cut," and Jiang Canxi was worried for a moment before continuing the scene with Han Yunxing.

"Are you alright, Noona?"

As soon as the director yelled "cut," Jiang Canxi, who was behind him, chased after Han Yunxing, who was walking straight ahead.

Han Yunxing shook her head at him, her leg twitching and the pain spreading.

Han Mingyou ran over with a folding chair and a first-aid kit.

Sitting on the chair, Han Yunxing turned her leg to the side and looked at the purplish-red marks on her calf. Her legs were very white, and the scars looked somewhat terrifying. The gravel from the car wheel had left finger-length scratches on them, from which tiny beads of blood seeped out.

"That's too much." Jiang Canxi clenched her fists and said coldly as she watched Han Mingyou carefully apply the medicine to Han Yunxing.

Han Yunxing gestured for him to be quiet, indicating that she could handle the matter herself and there was no need to involve Jiang Canxi.

Her agent directly asked the director for the video, and somehow the director agreed to do Shen Lina a favor.

Shin Lina went directly to Cho Byung-gyu's manager and spoke to him coldly for a while.

Seeing Zhao Binggui approaching, Han Yunxing patted Jiang Canxi's arm and told him to go first.

Watching Jiang Canxi being dragged away by her assistant, Han Yunxing turned her head and glared coldly at Zhao Binggui, whose face still bore faint red marks.

"This was my mistake, and I am very sorry to Yunxingxi."

Zhao Binggui gritted his teeth and swallowed his anger, then apologized to Han Yunxing in a humble voice.

“You always manage to surprise me. I hope you’re genuinely sorry.” Han Yunxing tapped her phone screen at the person opposite her, indicating that he should stop bothering her.

After this incident, Zhao Binggui avoided Han Yunxing at all times except when filming, and behaved himself much better.

However, when Han Yoon-sung received a video call from Kwon Ji-yong that evening, she poured out her grievances about Jo Byung-gyu as if she were confiding in her parents.

Petty, chauvinistic, and gloomy—these were all labels attached to Zhao Binggui.

"Let me see your wound. Hmm?"

Kwon Ji-yong, who had been lounging lazily against the headboard, immediately sat up straight upon hearing these words, his brows furrowed, and gently coaxed the little girl to look at the wound on his calf.

As he gently traced the obvious scars on Han Yoon-sung's fair calves on the screen, Kwon Ji-yong was furious. A wave of tenderness and pity for Han Yoon-sung's suffering washed over him, and he wished he could jump from one side of the screen to the other.

Does it hurt?

Han Yoon-sung wanted to pinch her fingers and tell the person on the other side of the camera that it only hurt a little, but under Kwon Ji-yong's distressed gaze, the itchy wound seemed to start to sting again.

Han Yunxing pouted, her eyes glistening with tears, and gestured in the air with one hand: "There is so much pain."

I really want to fly over and hug Han Yoon-sung right now. Kwon Ji-yong's heartbroken gaze makes it seem like Han Yoon-sung's leg is broken, not just scraped.

The two whispered to each other for a long time, and Han Yunxing noticed the dark circles under the other person's eyes and decided to say goodbye.

Sensing Han Yoon-sung's intentions first, Kwon Ji-yong said softly, "Oppa will sing you a song?"

Han Yunxing's eyes lit up. She obediently covered herself with the blanket, lay on her side on the bed, and placed her phone against the headboard.

"Please stay by my side, shining on me. Tears are diamonds, and thorns will bloom..."

It wasn't the first time Han Yoon-sung had heard Kwon Ji-yong sing her own songs, but this was the first time she had heard him sing "Shinning." With her eyes closed and a sweet smile on her face, Han Yoon-sung fell asleep to the gentle voice.

Kwon Ji-yong sang several songs a cappella. Seeing the other person's breathing gradually become calm, he gently stroked the screen and said, "Goodnight, baby."

After hanging up the phone, Kwon Ji-yong found Shin Lina's contact information and sent her a message.

Kwon Ji-yong lit a cigarette, his mouth agape, and stared coldly at the reply coming from the other end.

That day, the VIP who had been eating very well recently saw that Kwon Ji-yong had uploaded a demo to his alternate account.

Upon seeing the title "Bulldog," the VIP's brain raced. What's wrong with Kwon Ji-yong today?

After their relationship was made public, Kwon Ji-yong re-uploaded the demo on Instagram one day with the caption "Hehe," seemingly alluding to a bullying controversy involving a certain actor. This led VIPs to follow the clues and decode the previously puzzling post.

When Han Yunxing woke up the next day, the wound had already scabbed over, but the spread of bruising was quite alarming.

After getting out of bed and washing up, Han Yunxing saw Shen Lina carrying a thermos.

"Have a drink. Someone specially asked me to order this."

Shin Lina also understood Kwon Ji-yong's feelings for Han Yoon-sung. Her worries about the artist and the helplessness of feeling that her job had been taken away were intertwined. Now that she had calmed down, she just looked at Han Yoon-sung gently.

"Does it still hurt?" Han Yunxing's character is a little princess, and most of her clothes are dresses. The concealer will definitely get on her wound later.

Taking the thermos, Han Yunxing smiled and shook her head at Shen Lina to indicate that she was feeling much better, then opened the lid.

Steaming white mist rose from the pot, and a rich, fresh aroma wafted into Han Yunxing's nose. It was a bowl of tender, simmered pig's trotter soup.

The warm soup soothed her from the tip of her tongue all the way to her stomach. Han Yunxing wiped her mouth with satisfaction, tidied herself up, and headed to the film set.

Although no one spoke ill of Zhao Binggui yesterday, many people were concerned about Han Yunxing. When she arrived at the film set, Lian Jingya took Han Yunxing's hand and looked down to examine the wound on her leg.

"Thankfully it's healed already," Lian Jingya patted Han Yunxing's head. "Our Yunxing suffered so much."

Han Yunxing felt a mother's care once again. Thinking of her own mother in this life, she affectionately nuzzled Lian Jingya's palm with her head.

"It doesn't hurt anymore."

Seeing Han Yunxing's ingratiating expression, Lian Jingya tapped her nose.

Perhaps it was a stroke of good fortune after a period of setback, or perhaps it was compensation from the director, but Han Yunxing received an invitation to sing the OST "We All Lie" for "Sky Castle".

Before extending the invitation, the music producer reviewed Han Yunxing's performance again. His voice was excellent. He had been hesitant because of the salary, but Shen Lina said yesterday that she was willing to compromise, so he didn't hesitate anymore.

The recording process went even more smoothly than expected. The emotions, from questioning to resistance, built up layer by layer, and Han Yunxing's powerful vocals complemented the performance of the song perfectly.

The music PD gave Han Yunxing an "OK" sign in the recording studio, thinking about Han Yunxing's performance and nodding in satisfaction. This kid seems to shine even when he's singing in loose casual clothes; he really loves music.

Author's Note: Timed perfectly!

Chapter 27 of "Bulldog": The Passionate Product of Brother Long

It's my fault for the characters being out of character; it's a parallel world, lol.

Below is a brief explanation of the plot of "Castle in the Sky," in case anyone who hasn't seen it is confused.

The storyline of the children in "Sky Castle" is roughly about Kang Ye-rye, played by Yoon-sung, who, in order to maintain her top grade and successfully enter Seoul National University Medical School, gets tutoring from a private tutor through her mother's connections.

However, this tutor is a fanatic, obsessed with cultivating geniuses. She once caused her own child to become mentally challenged, so she harbors a vengeful, twisted mentality, wanting to destroy any potential genius. She brainwashes Jiang Yirui (in the meditation room) to break down her defenses, making the already obsessed child even more fanatical. Furthermore, later on, the tutor steals exam questions and reveals them to Jiang Yirui without her knowledge, resulting in Jiang Yirui consistently achieving perfect scores (in reality, she entered the school as the top student).

There is a girl named Jin Huina in Jiang Yirui's class who also has excellent grades. She creates a great sense of competition for Jiang Yirui. Jin Huina, out of a desire for revenge (Jin Huina and Jiang Yirui are half-siblings, and her father is unaware of her existence), often makes Jiang Yirui angry.

In order to stabilize Jiang Yirui's grades and prevent Jin Huina from having the opportunity to spread the news of their half-sisterhood, the tutor killed Jin Huina on Huang Youzhou's birthday. In the end, Huang Youzhou was wrongly imprisoned.

After learning that the murderer was her tutor, Yi Rui was overwhelmed with guilt and panic, which kept her awake at night. However, her mother knew that knowing about the stolen exam questions would invalidate Yi Rui's grades, preventing her from taking the college entrance exam this year and wasting all her years of hard work. So, she decided to be selfish for once.

But in the end, Jiang Yirui decided to give up this year's college entrance examination, presented evidence to bail Huang Yuzhou out, brought the real murderer to justice, dropped out of school to prepare for the self-study college entrance examination next year, and the family also moved.

Jiang Canxi plays Huang Zhouyou, the object of Jiang Yirui's secret crush.

Jo Byung-gyu plays Ki-joon, the twin brother, who sometimes bullies Kang Ye-rye because he thinks she's too arrogant.

Yeom Kyung-ah plays Kang Ye-rye's mother.

Kim Bo-ra plays Kim Hye-na, Kang Ye-ye's half-sister, and the person Hwang Woo-joo likes.
