Chapter 50 (Completed)
In a foreign land, after a long separation, He Changyi warmly invited everyone to her room to catch up.
She was staying in a suite, and upon entering, there was a fairly large living room, which was convenient for entertaining guests and discussing business.
Zhou Cheng was familiar with He Changyi, and he didn't act like an outsider, casually inviting everyone into the house.
The team members looked at Yan Zhengchuan first, and only after he nodded did they follow Zhou Cheng into the room.
The group filed in, while Alexei remained outside. After a pause, he silently followed them in.
Yan Zhengchuan glanced back at him, and Alexei looked back at him coldly.
Their eyes met, and the hostility lessened slightly, but the assessment and wariness remained, perhaps even more so.
Despite her limited mobility, He Changyi had Zhou Cheng running around in circles, making tea, pouring water, fetching drinks, and even bringing out snacks from the mini-fridge to entertain the guest.
"Don't be shy, please sit down. We're all family here, so make yourselves at home."
After entering the room, Yan Zhengchuan habitually scanned the layout and furnishings of the suite, pausing when his gaze fell on the scissors that were everywhere.
The old-fashioned iron scissors were heavy to the touch, entirely black, with sharp, knife-like tips that could leave a bloody hole with a single stab.
He Changyi met his gaze and said frankly:
"Mosk has a bad reputation for crime, so I keep it for self-defense."
Yan Zhengchuan glanced at her injured leg and said tactfully:
"It's useless. You can't exert any force with one leg, so holding it is pointless."
He Changyi: ...
Zhou Cheng turned his head away, utterly dejected.
Captain Yan is good in every way: good family background, high education, strong ability, and handsome face. His only flaw is that he has a mouth.
An ordinary person's mouth is for speaking; his mouth is for being slowly sliced to death.
"Captain Yan, please have a seat, have some tea first..."
The team members who knew Yan Zhengchuan's temper quickly pressed him down on the sofa, then stuffed a cup of tea into his hand, as if they wanted to sew his mouth shut.
Everyone took their seats. Zhou Cheng and the others sat on the long sofa, while He Changyi sat on a single sofa on one side. Alexei walked over to her and leaned against the armrest of the sofa.
Yan Zhengchuan held his teacup, reluctantly took a sip, and just when the team members thought the alarm was over, he suddenly said:
"Ms. He, you should probably get rid of the scissors. Otherwise, they might end up being used as weapons for criminals instead of for self-defense."
Yan Zhengchuan glanced at He Changyi's wrist, which was sticking out of her sleeve. Her joints were delicate and her skin was pale to the point of being bluish.
He politely reminded him:
"You can't run, you can't fight, and the hotel is full of all sorts of people. Someone like you would just be easy prey if you came here. Staying here won't do you any good."
A deathly silence.
Suddenly, Alexei let out a cheerful laugh.
He Changyi: ...
Team members: ...
Without making a sound, He Changyi stomped Alexei's foot hard with his cane, then turned to Zhou Cheng with a beaming smile and asked:
"Are these all your friends? Are you in Moscow on business or for leisure?"
Zhou Cheng quickly picked up the conversation and introduced all the colleagues present to He Changyi.
When Mosk's purpose was mentioned, he paused for a moment and looked at Yan Zhengchuan questioningly.
Yan Zhengchuan put down his teacup, his gaze sharp as he looked at He Changyi, and suddenly asked:
Have you heard about the transnational train robbery that happened a while ago?
Upon hearing this, He Changyi immediately understood.
"I've heard more than just about it."
The atmosphere became tense, but she said nonchalantly:
"The TV stations and newspapers are reporting on this robbery, but I know more about it than the reporters do."
He Changyi met Yan Zhengchuan's scrutinizing gaze and suddenly smiled.
"Because I was on that train at the time."
Zhou Cheng jumped up from the sofa.
"No wonder you're on crutches. You were perfectly fine last time you came, but this time you suddenly became lame. You must have been robbed!"
He Changyi had to correct this guy's choice of words first.
"First, I'm not lame; second, my leg wasn't broken; third..."
Yan Zhengchuan interrupted her mini-Chinese lesson and pressed for an answer:
"Have you seen the robbers in the car?"
He Changyi said, "I haven't seen them all, but I've seen quite a few."
At that time, the train encountered four waves of robbers. The first and second waves were blocked outside the compartments, the third wave stopped to chase after Director Peng who jumped off the train, and He Changyi encountered the fourth wave of robbers, which was also the largest and most vicious wave.
She stared at Yan Zhengchuan and said with a half-smile:
"Luckily, I was able to run and fight back then, otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here chatting today."
This time it was Yan Zhengchuan's turn: ...
The team members chuckled to themselves, some looking up at the sky, others at the ground, but none of them looked at Yan Zhengchuan.
Zhou Cheng seemed to remember something and suddenly became excited again.
"I know, you're the female passenger, Zhong Guo, who saved the person on the bus!"
While reviewing the statements provided by the Ejin Horo police, the investigation team discovered that a female passenger from China was mentioned in the statements of different people.
Before arriving in Mosk, two groups of robbers appeared on the bus at the same time. They worked together, with one group robbing from the front of the bus and the other from the back.
The robbers at the front of the train, having had their accomplice killed, pulled the emergency brake and jumped off to chase after the fleeing passengers; as the train started moving again and left the robbers behind, the robbers at the rear of the train continued their rampage of looting.
The train conductor was seriously injured and gave up organizing passengers to save themselves. At the critical moment, this unnamed female passenger stepped forward and took the lead in fighting back against the robbers.
Under her leadership, the passengers on the bus united and successfully repelled the remaining robbers, arriving safely in Mosk.
The train conductor's statement mentioned that the female passenger used her own first-aid kit to provide first aid to the seriously injured passengers, enabling them to make it to the hospital.
Yan Zhengchuan keenly realized that this female passenger from Zhongguo might play an important role in solving the case, but neither the train conductor's and passengers' statements nor the robber's confession mentioned the female passenger's name or physical characteristics.
The person taking her statement seemed to be deliberately downplaying her presence.
Yan Zhengchuan didn't beat around the bush and went straight to the E-guo police with the translator. When he learned that he wanted to find the female passenger from Zhongguo, the unusually young blond officer of the E-guo police looked at him strangely for a moment.
Blue eyes, harsh and cold, like the coldest waters of the Arctic Ocean.
The next second, he coldly withdrew his gaze and casually brushed it off with the excuse that he was sending people to search for them.
As an experienced criminal investigation team leader, Yan Zhengchuan immediately realized that the other party was not telling the truth.
What is he hiding?
Whom is he trying to hide?
Why did he hide it?
Yan Zhengchuan suddenly asked He Changyi, "Do you know any police officers from Emei?"
He might ask that, He Changyi paused for a moment, then said casually:
"Of course I know them. In this area, if you don't know a few officials, you'll never make it in business."
Zhou Cheng interjected, asking eagerly:
"Sister He, you're the one who saved people on the train, right? Otherwise, how could your leg be injured? You must have been saving people!"
He Changyi seemed much more relaxed when facing Zhou Cheng.
"Of course! You saved so many people, I'm waiting for the country to award me a medal. Speaking of which, didn't you say you were going to apply to the bureau for a super-sized award certificate for the international student fraud case last time? I'm still waiting for it."
Zhou Cheng said cheerfully, "I've applied, I've applied, it's going through the process. I'll also hire a drum and gong troupe out of my own pocket for this case, and they'll be there to escort you to your house with drums and gongs!"
Upon hearing this, the other police officers recalled Zhou Cheng's earlier mention on the train of the famous female black marketeer in Moscow and immediately asked:
"Xiao Zhou, this must be the friend you mentioned on the train! I never imagined that Miss He is not only a successful businesswoman but also such a public-spirited and righteous person!"
"If Ms. He hadn't been on the train at the time, the final number of casualties would probably have been even higher."
"If there were more people like Miss He in the world, how could justice not be served?"
Zhou Cheng was even more proud than the person involved.
"Of course! Sister He is my good friend!"
Amid the commotion, Yan Zhengchuan coughed.
But apart from Alexei, no one else noticed his subtle hint.
Yan Zhengchuan had no choice but to raise his voice.
"Cough cough!"
This time, Zhou Cheng heard this and kindly handed the teacup on the low table to Yan Zhengchuan.
"Captain Yan, have some tea. Is your throat sore?"
He Changyi couldn't help but burst out laughing.
Yan Zhengchuan snatched the teacup, glared at Zhou Cheng with exasperation, and then looked sternly at the others until these slow-witted guys finally got the signal and stopped fawning over the pretty girl.
Much quieter now, Yan Zhengchuan said seriously to He Changyi:
"Ms. He, let us introduce ourselves again. We are from the Beijing Public Security Bureau. The Ministry of Public Security of China has set up a special task force for the transnational train robbery case. We have been ordered to come to Moscow to investigate the case. Please cooperate with our work."
He Changyi's smile vanished, and she said with equal seriousness:
"I will do my best to cooperate with the police officers and speak frankly and without reservation."
She knew Zhou Cheng was a policeman and had long guessed Yan Zhengchuan and the others' identities, so she wasn't surprised.
Upon learning that these people were Chinese police officers, Alexei raised his eyelids and gave Yan Zhengchuan and his companions a cold look.
Yan Zhengchuan asked someone to bring out paper and pen to take notes. Before asking the questions, he looked warily at Alexei.
This Eguo man was clearly no good person. Based on his experience, he was most likely involved in organized crime and had very dirty hands.
Regardless of whether this guy understands Chinese or not, let him stay and listen in. Otherwise, the entire Moscow gang will know that the Chinese police are coming to arrest him.
Yan Zhengchuan looked at He Changyi and said something impolite in a polite tone.
“Miss He, what is your relationship with him? Is he also a party involved in the robbery? If not, this gentleman from Ega may leave. By the way, Miss He, could you please translate for me? I'm afraid he might not understand.”
Before He Changyi could speak, Alexei suddenly said in fluent Chinese:
"No translation needed."
He smirked, stood up, and looked down at the people on the sofa, his tall figure exuding an air of oppression.
"You want me to leave?"
Yan Zhengchuan also stood up. Although he was a few centimeters shorter than Alexei, he was in no way inferior in terms of imposing presence.
"Yes, people who are not involved in the case are not allowed to attend the hearing. Please understand; if you don't understand, please try your best to understand."
Alexei suddenly stepped forward, and he confronted Yan Zhengchuan across the narrow, low table.
Zhou Cheng and the others stood up nervously, while He Changyi remained seated on the sofa, still able to pick up the small snacks on the plate and taste them.
"I don't trust you."
Alexei said calmly, "I'll stay here, or you can leave."
Yan Zhengchuan didn't get angry; instead, he laughed.
“What you say is useless. Miss He is not a citizen of your country. Chinese people have their own rules. Even if she is in Moscow, she is subject to Chinese law. I am a Chinese police officer, and of course I have the right to ask her to cooperate with the investigation.”
Alexei smiled too.
"This is not your Zhongguo. This is my territory."
Yan Zhengchuan was still smiling, but there was no smile in his eyes.
"I'm not sure. Although the alliance has disintegrated, when did Mosk become someone's territory?"
Alexei remained expressionless.
"Now you know."
The atmosphere was tense. He Changyi patted the crumbs off his hands and tapped the low table with his cane.
“Officer Yan, Alexei is not an outsider, I trust him.”
Yan Zhengchuan said firmly, "Rules are rules, and they have nothing to do with your trust."
Zhou Cheng was in a panic, wanting to ease the tension, but unsure how to start the conversation.
He Changyi suddenly tugged at Alexei's trouser leg, signaling him to come closer.
Alexei was puzzled, but he still followed her hand and walked over, and He Changyi leaned against him delicately.
"Officer Yan, I am a victim of a robbery. I not only lost a leg, but I was also extremely traumatized..."
Yan Zhengchuan had a very ominous premonition.
He Changyi sighed dramatically, clutched her chest, and said softly and weakly:
“I have suffered severe psychological trauma. I cannot be in the same room with strange men, as it triggers my post-traumatic stress disorder—unless I am with close friends and family, such as Alexei.”
Yan Zhengchuan: ...
Zhou Cheng said anxiously, "Oh dear, what should we do? Can that kind of trauma syndrome be treated in Emei? If not, we should hurry back to China to get it checked out. Luckily, my uncle's cousin works at Capital Medical University. I'll ask him to get me an appointment with a specialist!"
He also said to Yan Zhengchuan, "Captain Yan, don't you have connections in the military region? Could you find an old military doctor to take a look?"
Yan Zhengchuan: "...Shut up."
Alexei looked down at He Changyi, who raised her head and winked at him mischievously.
He laughed silently.
Yan Zhengchuan, who was observing: ...
Those two despicable people who colluded in evil deeds!
Yan Zhengchuan was ultimately forced to agree to let Alexei stay and listen in.
He realized that the old Russian's relationship with He Changyi was unusual, and that from the beginning he was wary of their group threatening He Changyi.
If they don't let him stay, he might pull out a gun and press it to his head until he gives in or gets out of Mosk altogether.
That damned dog.
And even more cunning, the owner of the vicious dog.
The group sat down again. Alexei sat on the armrest next to He Changyi, his long legs propped on the ground, his fingers leisurely twirling her short curly hair until she slapped his hand on the back of his hand, at which point he slowly withdrew his hand.
Yan Zhengchuan's eyes hurt from looking at it, so he simply turned his gaze away and let another senior officer take charge of the questioning, while he filled in the gaps himself.
The inquiry is not one-sided.
He Changyi learned that the whereabouts of the fourth wave of robbers were unknown, and they were very likely hiding in Mosk, including the robber leaders Ma San and Hua Jie, who had a grudge against her.
She lowered her eyes and pondered for a moment, then suddenly spoke to Alexei in the Ethnic language:
"Can you find them?"
Alexei replied in the same language, "I will try my best. But to the people of Ego, all Chinese people look pretty much the same, so I can't be sure that I've found them."
Upon hearing the sudden conversation in Ethnic language, Yan Zhengchuan immediately asked, "What are you and he talking about?"
He Changyi said frankly, "I asked Alexei to help me find people, but the people of Ego are not good at finding specific individuals among the Chinese. I think we might need some other methods—Officer Yan can understand, right?"
Yan Zhengchuan glanced at her but didn't say anything, which was taken as tacit agreement.
Still confused, Zhou Cheng asked curiously, "What method?"
He Changyi didn't answer directly, but instead said with a smile, "Would you like to make a new friend?"
Yan Zhengchuan smiled and said, "Then I'll have to trouble you, Miss He."
Zhou Cheng: ? ? ?
Yan Zhengchuan stood up and patted Zhou Cheng's head.
"How did you manage to get into the task force, kid?"
In the evening, He Changyi hosted a dinner at the most luxurious Beijing Hotel in Moscow.
The guest was somewhat special; he was the leader of the largest Chinese gang in Moscow, known as the "Dragon Crossing the River."
On the surface, Guojianglong is the president of the Moscow Chinese Business Association; in private, he keeps a group of thugs to do his shady business.
The Baikal Hotel where He Changyi previously stayed was run by a foreign official who colluded with local officials, offering them large sums of political donations in exchange for their protection. Even the police wouldn't do anything to him.
He Changyi had heard of this person, but the two went their separate ways and never crossed paths.
However, in order to catch Ma San and Hua Jie as soon as possible, He Changyi specially asked Xie Shirong to act as an intermediary and invite the "cross-river dragons" to have a meal.
Xie Shirong was among the first group of traders to come to Moscow. He not only knew Jiang Long, but also asked Jiang Long for help in settling disputes, paying him a considerable amount of "tea money," so they could be considered old friends.
Fearing that the robbers might come after him, Xie Shirong immediately agreed to He Changyi's request and personally went to invite Jianglong.
When he learned that it was a famously beautiful female middleman from Mosk who was treating him, Guojianglong readily accepted the invitation.
In the luxurious private room, a few people sat around a huge mahogany round table.
The man who had crossed the river sat in the main seat, with two bodyguards standing behind him. He Changyi was on the left and Xie Shirong was on the right. Yan Zhengchuan and Zhou Cheng sat directly opposite him.
The table was laden with sumptuous dishes, including abalone, bear paw, deer antler, and grouse. This meal alone cost 70,000 rubles, while the vintage wines transported from the country by special plane were worth an additional 30,000 rubles.
However, no one touched their chopsticks.
The dragon from across the river sized up Yan Zhengchuan and Zhou Cheng, his eyes darting around. He placed his hand on his hip and said with a half-smile:
"No feast is a good feast. It seems this is a trap set for me."
He turned to look at Xie Shirong.
"Old Xie, what have I done to offend you that you're doing this to harm me?"
Xie Shirong, sweat beading on his forehead, quickly explained:
"Brother Long, this is your territory. I wouldn't dare to harm you even if I had the guts of a bear and a leopard! Absolutely not!"
Yan Zhengchuan immediately realized that Guo Jianglong knew they were police officers from China, but he was unsure whether he figured it out himself or if someone from the embassy had leaked the information.
He looked at the two burly bodyguards, whose waists were bulging, clearly concealing guns.
If the outsider mistakenly thinks they're there to arrest him, they might not even be able to leave the Beijing Hotel today!
Just as Yan Zhengchuan was about to do something, He Changyi suddenly stood up on one leg, and the two bodyguards almost immediately drew their guns and pointed them at her.
Yan Zhengchuan stood up, intending to stand in front of He Changyi, but she stopped him.
Under everyone's watchful eyes, He Changyi picked up the bottle of baijiu in the center of the round table, uncapped it, and poured it into an open glass with a thud until the liquid was level with the rim.
"Brother Long, this toast is for you. It is my honor that you have taken the time to come and have a meal with us. I will drink this first."
Guo Jianglong remained silent, coldly watching He Changyi gulp down a whole glass of strong liquor before reluctantly showing a slightly friendly expression.
"Good! You truly are a heroine who made it through your own efforts, well done!"
He Changyi had a faint blush on her face, but her hands were steady as she poured another glass of wine.
Yan Zhengchuan frowned, wanting to get up and snatch the wine glass from He Changyi's hand, but he forcibly held back under her suggestive gaze.
"Brother Long, this second toast is for you. Your willingness to come is a sign of your trust in me, and I cannot betray that trust. I dare to swear on my life that this meal is not a trap for you. If I say anything untrue, you can throw me into the Mosk River to feed the fish."
After speaking, He Changyi tilted his head back and finished his second glass of wine.
At this moment, Guo Jianglong looked much more relaxed, and the hand that had been supporting his waist was now placed on the table.
"Good, good, you're a good person. By the way, what's your name?"
Xie Shirong quickly said, "He Changyi, her name is He Changyi."
The dragon blaming the river ignored him and stared intently at He Changyi.
He Changyi showed the bottom of his glass and said unhurriedly, "I am He Changyi, a nobody who makes a living in Moscow, not worth mentioning."
The dragon crossing the river laughed heartily.
“If you’re a nobody, then none of the people in Mosk are anyone! I think Old Xie is no match for you. Don’t let his seniority in Mosk fool you; to me, he’s nothing!”
Xie Shirong chuckled twice, not daring to refute.
He Changyi smiled and poured another glass of wine.
Zhou Cheng finally figured it out and was so anxious that he wanted to stop He Changyi, but Yan Zhengchuan stopped him with a look.
"Captain Yan!" he said urgently in a low voice, "We can't let Sister He drink anymore!"
Yan Zhengchuan glanced at the two bodyguards whose guns were still aimed at He Changyi, and squeezed out a single word through gritted teeth: "Wait!"
He Changyi raised her glass again, and this time even her two bodyguards looked at her in surprise.
"Brother Long, I have invited you here today because I have a favor to ask."
She pointed to Yan Zhengchuan and Zhou Cheng and said frankly, "These two are police officers from Beijing. They are in charge of investigating the transnational train robbery and want to find out the whereabouts of Ma San and Sister Hua's gang from you."
Upon learning that they weren't there to arrest him, Guojianglong completely relaxed.
"How would I know their whereabouts? I'm a legitimate businessman, not one of those people who're all shouting for war."
He Changyi said with a smile, "Brother Long, you're being too modest. Everyone here knows your name, the Dragon from the River. If you stomp your foot in Moscow, the entire Chinese community will tremble. Things that can't be resolved by the authorities are a piece of cake for you."
The outsider, feeling quite pleased with himself, waved his hand, signaling his bodyguards to put away their guns, and said:
"It's all because my friends gave me face. I reluctantly acted as a middleman, connecting people and smoothing things over. Don't you think so, Lao Xie?"
Xie Shirong didn't dare to speak, but then hurriedly said, "You are the backbone of our Chinese Chamber of Commerce. We are able to do business safely in Moscow entirely thanks to you!"
Crossing the River Dragon laughed heartily, all the sinister intent he had shown when he entered vanished, and he looked like a straightforward and honest gangster.
"Oh dear, look at what you're saying, it seems I have no choice but to help! But Xiao He, I'm curious, how did Ma San and Sister Hua offend you? Or do you have something to ask of our police officers?"
He Changyi said, half-jokingly, "To be honest, Uncle Xie and I were both on that train. He had a few teeth knocked out, and I was even more unlucky; my leg was broken. Although I escaped with my life, Ma San and Sister Hua are ruthless and vengeful. I offended them on the train; they might kill me later."
The dragon who crossed the river believed it almost immediately.
He judged others by his own standards. If he were He Changyi, he would dig three feet into the ground to eradicate the weeds and leave no future troubles.
"The Ma couple are really scoundrels. We're all Chinese, how can we fight each other? If they're so capable, why don't they go and kill the Russians?"
Suddenly, Guo Jianglong looked at Yan Zhengchuan and said, "Comrade Policeman, I was just saying it casually, please don't take it seriously."
Yan Zhengchuan said nonchalantly, "How can we take what we say at the dinner table seriously? We are grateful for your help."
He casually took the wine glass from He Changyi's hand and raised it to Guo Jianglong in a gesture of respect.
"This toast is for you. Your concern for your motherland while you are overseas is truly admirable."
Yan Zhengchuan finished a whole glass of strong liquor without changing his expression, and as he sat down, he casually moved the bottle to his side.
He Changyi glanced at him and then slowly sat down.
The dragon who crossed the river was extremely satisfied and laughed heartily.
"Since the police officers think highly of me, I'll reluctantly help them find the person. It's my way of giving back to my country!"
Zhou Cheng finally caught up and hurriedly said:
"As long as we can find the person, I will definitely apply to the bureau to give you a big award certificate!"
The dragon ignored the lackey and looked at Yan Zhengchuan instead.
Yan Zhengchuan wiped his hands with a damp towel, whetting the appetite of the person opposite him for a while before saying, "Of course, even if we don't find the person, the recognition that is due must be given. The country will not let down those who have made contributions."
Guojianglong said half-seriously, "If I can't find the person, I won't have the face to accept the commendation!"
Seeing that everything that needed to be discussed had been discussed, He Changyi, as the host, invited everyone to eat.
The head chef of the Beijing Hotel comes from a state guesthouse and has exceptional culinary skills. It's hard to find such top-notch Chinese cuisine even in China, let alone in Moscow.
Guojianglong casually ate a couple of bites, then enthusiastically picked up his wine glass, ready to have a drinking contest.
He approached He Changyi first, but was stopped by Yan Zhengchuan.
"She has a leg injury, I'll drink with you."
Before Guo Jianglong could react, Yan Zhengchuan raised his glass and skillfully toasted him, downing three bottles of baijiu in no time, leaving Guo Jianglong nearly crawling under the table.
Yan Zhengchuan doesn't blush when he drinks; he can down three jin of liquor and still act like nothing happened. He speaks without stumbling and even walks in a straight line.
As the two bodyguards carried the limp, exhausted Guo Jianglong away, their gazes toward Yan Zhengchuan were filled with awe.
Yan Zhengchuan knew in his heart that he was drunk this time. Holding onto the last shred of sobriety, he instructed Zhou Cheng:
"Take Miss He home."
Zhou Cheng was engrossed in eating, fighting with Xie Shirong for the last piece of venison steak, when he heard this and asked in bewilderment:
"Huh? I'll take you? But aren't we staying at the same hotel?"
Yan Zhengchuan had a terrible headache. With the outsider gone, he relaxed and barely understood what Zhou Cheng was saying, only stubbornly repeating:
“Mosk is not safe. Miss He has been drinking; we can’t let her go home alone.”
He Changyi patted him on the shoulder.
"Don't worry, I'm not alone."
Although she did drink, it was only about 100ml, far from being drunk.
He Changyi walked to the door of the private room with his cane and waved in a certain direction outside.
The next moment, Alexei appeared at the door.
Zhou Cheng exclaimed in surprise, "Huh? It's him again? When did he arrive?"
Xie Shirong looked wary and tried to make his presence as inconspicuous as possible.
Alexei, however, seemed not to see the people at the table, and only frowned as he looked at He Changyi.
"You've been drinking."
He Changyi grabbed his arm, shifted to a more comfortable position, and unceremoniously pressed her entire weight onto him.
"I drank a little."
Alexei picked He Changyi up in his arms, and she skillfully reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Ha, a little? Have you come to enjoy the feeling of being crippled?"
He Changyi: "I have to admit, it's quite nice to have a humanoid mount."
Alexei pretended to throw her away.
"Then why don't you try crawling on the ground?"
He Changyi tugged at his hair.
"I prefer riding on your head."
Zhou Cheng was dumbfounded until Alexei, cursing, carried He Changyi out of the private room. He then quickly reached out to poke Yan Zhengchuan.
"Captain Yan, this, this... do you still need me to take Miss He home?"
Yan Zhengchuan did not respond.
Zhou Cheng turned to look, only to see that Yan Zhengchuan had completely drunk himself, lying unconscious on the table.
Zhou Cheng: ...
"Mr. Xie, you have to come with me to take our captain back to the hotel!"
Xie Shirong: "...Young police officer, wait a minute, let me pack up all the food first."
Zhou Cheng looked in the direction where He Changyi had disappeared, and was so anxious he wanted to jump up and down.
"Never mind what kind of food it is, hurry up and go after Sister He! She's been drinking, it's not safe for her to be alone with that Russian guy!"
Xie Shirong thought to himself: She's not safe? Of everyone here, she's the safest!
Zhou Cheng grabbed Yan Zhengchuan and used his free hand to pull Xie Shirong out the door.
Unable to resist, Xie Shirong struggled to turn around and look at the table full of delicacies.
Oh no! He hasn't had enough of this table full of delicious food!
