Chapter 5: Good Roommate in the Universe
"Hey, little brother, let me see if the sun is rising from the west today. Are you here so early?"
As soon as Ren Yizi arrived, his good classmate Yin Zhongjiu started to be sarcastic to him.
This sister is the big sister of Hanmo Middle School. Usually, Ren Yizi has to call her "Sister Yin" in a gentlemanly and polite manner.
It’s no wonder that his deskmate was surprised. In the past, he would enter the classroom during the break between the first and second periods and attend the second class seamlessly.
Now, the first class is about to start. For other students, this is already a long time late, but for Ren Yizi, he rarely comes to the classroom so early.
"Yeah, surprised or not? My good Chinese roommate woke me up." Ren Yizi was in a good mood today, even seeming to have made up for the sleep he missed last night. He didn't care about his deskmate's sarcastic tone and even showed off the breakfast in his hand, "This was also bought for me by my roommate."
Yin Zhongjiu asked in confusion: "Aren't you a day student? Where did your roommate come from?"
"I'm living in the dormitory this semester."
After Ren Yizi finished speaking, he sincerely felt in his heart that some things can only be encountered if you fight for them. For example, the dormitory was where he was lucky enough to meet a roommate who was the best in the world.
The day before school started, he vowed to study hard and not be a laggard anymore. He was determined to change his habit of always being late for class.
So before going to bed last night, he specifically told Wen Si Ru that if he didn't get up in the morning, he should call him and make sure to wake him up.
But how can we change the habits formed over many years just like that?
Today he was still as lazy in bed as usual, even though he had set five alarms, each one ringing every five minutes.
But he still felt his head was fuzzy and blank, and he had an inexplicable rage that made him want to throw his phone to the ground!
This man who has difficulty getting out of bed sometimes feels that the bed is made of iron and he is a magnet, and he wishes he could sleep for three days and three nights.
Just then, the dormitory door opened with a click, and his good roommate came back.
Ren Yizi was still not used to the bright light coming in from the door. He covered his head with the quilt and said in a muffled voice, "What time is it? Why didn't you call me?"
"Classes haven't started yet. The whole school is doing morning exercises," Wen Siru said helplessly and amusedly, placing the breakfast he bought on the table. "I called you this morning, and I saw you woke up and went to morning self-study. You must have fallen asleep again later."
Ren Yizi had no recollection of what he had said, and his brain seemed to be filled with fog.
The intermittent sound of radio exercises could be faintly heard outside, mixed with the sound of Black Whirlwind using a cracked microphone to criticize a class for being lazy and not doing the exercises seriously.
He asked Wen Siru again in confusion: "Then why are you here? Why don't you do morning exercises? Good boy?"
Wen Siru shrugged helplessly: "The school leaders don't allow me to do morning exercises."
"Oh, that's right." Ren Yizi sobered up a little and recalled that when he was in the first year of high school, the school leaders had specially set a school rule for Wen Siru, approving him from doing morning exercises, so as to avoid too many onlookers and causing safety problems.
The air was filled with the rich aroma of beans and lava buns, with a hint of sweetness. Ren Yizi's stomach growled uncontrollably. He sat up awkwardly, squinting at the steaming breakfast on the table. "You haven't had breakfast yet?"
Wen Siru poured out the ashes of the incense that had burned out last night and said, "I bought this for you. I ate it a long time ago."
Ren Yizi was a little surprised: "How do you know I like to eat lava buns?"
"I don't know, but I saw you eating lava buns yesterday, so I guessed you might like them. I saw that you weren't in the group doing exercises, so I guessed you hadn't gotten up yet, so I bought you breakfast while the cafeteria was still open..."
When Ren Yizi heard this, he was unusually silent and was puzzled.
He and Wen Si Ru had no relatives or friends, and they had no previous interactions. Why was he so nice to him from the beginning?
Moreover, this rich young man should be taken care of and spoiled by others at home. Shouldn't he be the type who can take care of others?
In the blink of an eye, Ren Yizi did not ask these questions, but the meaning in his eyes was too obvious.
Wen Siru was very good at observing people's hearts. Looking at the micro-expressions of his upper bunkmate, he had already guessed most of the latter's thoughts. He immediately understood and explained, "Director Feng actually specifically told me to help you more with your life and studies."
Ren Yizi nodded. Although Black Whirlwind was fierce, he was indeed good to him and had even guaranteed him. In some of the violations of school rules, it was Black Whirlwind who intervened and got the leaders to give him light punishments.
He silently added another favor to Wen Siru's account: "Thank you."
Wen Siru smiled, his face more handsome than those young actors in film and television dramas. He said slowly, "Don't be so polite, Brother Zi. I said it yesterday, we are roommates, and it's only natural for us to help each other, okay?"
Ren Yizi nodded, smiled at him, and got out of bed to brush his teeth and wash his face.
He couldn't wait to eat the lava buns. He didn't know whether Wen Siru did it intentionally or unintentionally, but he didn't repeatedly wake him up. Instead, he cleverly used breakfast to induce the unconscious secretion of his saliva, making him want to get up naturally, and his bad temper disappeared without a trace.
After a while, Wen Siru leaned against the white wall with his head tilted slightly, and slowly said to the people on the balcony, "There's no rush to get up early. Food is eaten bite by bite, the road is walked step by step, and people grow up slowly. Instead of rushing on, it's better to slowly appreciate the various scenery along the way."
Ren Yizi had never heard such remarks before and was stunned for a moment.
In this world, everyone tells you to hurry up, hurry up, otherwise you will be crushed by thousands of troops and die on a single-plank bridge. But this person tells him to take it slow, don't be in a hurry, and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
What an interesting person. All the hardships he went through in the past few years were probably just to accumulate enough good luck to meet a roommate like Wen Si Ru.
Maybe they will not only be roommates in the future, but even become very good friends.
Ren Yizi thought further and further, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, and he felt as if the sun was shining all over his body, and every corner of his heart was filled with sunshine.
What a refreshing new semester!
If you let Ren Yizhi have his tail, you will see that his tail is shaking so fast that it is blurry and is about to hit Yin Zhongjiu who is next to him.
Yin Zhongjiu was furiously copying homework when he accidentally looked up and saw his deskmate looking so happy. He was about to choke him, but suddenly he smelled something, wrinkled his nose and sniffed it, and complained:
"Wow, what's that smell on you, bro? So stinky, are you in love? Which girl is dying again? Let me light a candle in her memory for a few seconds."
Ren Yizi and his deskmate often bicker with each other when talking, and they are natural bad friends. Some classmates in the school are willing to risk their lives to support their relationship, and they secretly fantasize about the two of them, and often kowtow to the two overlords, the school bully and the big sister.
The news reached Ren Yizi's ears, but he didn't take it seriously and never worried. He and Yin Zhongjiu had always been good brothers, and neither of them looked down on the other. They often played games together and cursed and made fun of each other.
The two people will also recommend people they know to each other, which is equivalent to the matchmaker who introduces each other to a partner, and whoever succeeds will treat the other to a meal.
When Ren Yizi heard her ask this, he raised his sleeve and sniffed. There was still some remnant of the sandalwood that Wen Si Ru had lit last night on his body. He knew it was the kind of old jade sandalwood that was hard to buy on the market. It smelled very good.
It is fresh and elegant, with a sense of peaceful and indifferent Zen. It is a very memorable fragrance. Whenever you smell it, you will be reminded of the owner of this fragrance.
But in Yin Zhongjiu's mouth, it turned into cheap horse flea incense. Ren Yizi couldn't stand it. He said with a stern face: "Go, go, go! What's the point of falling in love? I couldn't sleep last night. The smell on me is the calming incense that my roommate specially ordered for me."
Yin Zhongjiu stopped copying homework, tapped the desk and said jokingly: "Tsk tsk tsk, hearing the tone of your precious roommate, I thought you and your roommate were gay..."
Ren Yizi was choked by this sudden remark. When he opened his mouth to speak, he almost choked on his saliva.
The first class is about to start. People are coming and going in the class, some are collecting homework, some are copying homework, some are chatting, and the noise is as loud as a vegetable market. In the words of Black Whirlwind: I can hear the noise from your class on the first floor!
Everyone listened to Yi Zi's deafening cough, and the surroundings instantly became quiet, and everyone looked towards their corner.
Almost everyone in the school knew that he was homophobic, and they would have just fantasized about it in private, but this Big Sister Yin was not afraid. She deliberately stepped on Ren Yizi's sensitive spots and mentioned the issue of gayness in front of the main character.
Ren Yizi quickly took a sip of the sweet soy milk in his hand to calm down. When he finally recovered, he warned the people looking over with his handsome eyes, then glared at his deskmate: "You're the fucking gay. Your whole family is gay!"
Yin Zhongjiu rolled his eyes and glanced at the homework he hadn't finished copying: "Stop talking nonsense, you've finished your homework, why don't you copy it?"
Ren Yi hummed twice and laughed: "I finished everything except math last night."
Yesterday was the first day of school. There was not much homework to begin with. Except for the difficult subject of mathematics, Ren Yizi was still able to write something, but he couldn't guarantee the accuracy.
The corner of Yin Zhongjiu's mouth twitched, and the way he looked at Ren Yizi was no different from looking at a mutant. "No, Brother Ren, what's wrong with you? Why are you suddenly so nervous?"
With a single shot, Ren Yizi landed all the homework except for the math homework on his group leader's desk. He exclaimed, "Cool!" before replying to his deskmate, "It's senior year now. This isn't called a test. This is called studying hard to get into college."
Yin Zhongjiu took the math homework and asked again: "Are you still going to copy the math?"
Ren Yizi righteously refused: "I said I should study hard, how can I still do something like copying homework?"
"Hey?" Yin Zhongjiu's voice rose considerably. "You have guts."
Ren Yizi saw that her face was full of the message: "I don't believe you will study hard." He said to himself, "Don't disbelieve me. What's the saying? If you ignore me today, I will make you unattainable tomorrow."
Yin Zhongjiu rolled her eyes so much that she handed in her homework and put the standard answers on the table.
The bell for class rang just in time, and a teacher with an unfamiliar face walked in with a lesson plan.
Ren Yizi looked at the schedule and asked his deskmate, "Why did you change the Chinese teacher?"
