After the second day of the second lunar month, it signifies the start of spring plowing. Production teams will begin planting crops such as spring wheat, rice, sorghum, soybeans, peanuts, cotton, corn, sesame, and sweet potatoes.
Zhuang Zhimeng also went to work as usual to cut pig feed. After work, she took some time to tidy up the vegetable gardens of both families with Jiang Yanxia.
They leveled the land, loosened the soil, and are waiting for the weather to warm up a bit more before planting the vegetable seeds. The seeds were left over from last year's harvest in the vegetable garden, and they don't plan to exchange them with Aunt Tian this year, as they feel embarrassed to keep bothering her.

After work that day, the team leader announced that each household should send a representative to a meeting at the threshing ground at 7 p.m.
The villagers gathered in the courtyard, discussing what the meeting was about and seeing if anyone knew any inside information. They even asked Tian Cuie, but she didn't say anything. Seeing that she wouldn't answer, the villagers didn't ask her again and continued their discussion.
An Qingbai approached Zhuang Zhimeng as soon as he saw her. Zhuang Zhimeng was also guessing and asked An Qingbai, who was standing next to her, "Brother Qingbai, do you think Uncle Baogen will say something good or bad at the meeting later?"
When Jiang Yanxia and Su Mengmeng see An Qingbai coming to find Zhuang Zhimeng, they will consciously stand a little further away so as not to be a third wheel.

Everyone immediately quieted down and stopped making noise.
Once the villagers had quieted down, An Baogen announced the good news, "I went to a meeting in town today, and they gave our brigade two spots to learn how to drive a tractor..."
An Baogen had barely finished speaking when the villagers became excited.
"Captain, are you telling the truth? Did you really give our brigade two spots to learn how to drive a tractor?"
"Captain, our brigade has been applying for training to drive tractors for a long time but hasn't been selected yet?"

An Baogen pressed his hands down, and the villagers quieted down again.
An Baogen continued, "As you just said, our brigade has never been selected to learn how to drive a tractor. The reason we were given two spots this time is because of Zhuang Zhiqing and Qingbai!"
Two years ago, they saved the son of the head of the agricultural machinery station. They didn't ask for anything in return, but the man has always remembered this favor.
This time, they gave our brigade a spot for tractor driving training, and even designated one spot for Qingbai. All the other brigades only had one spot!

Then Zhuang Zhimeng and An Qingbai stopped talking, because the villagers' eyes were now focused on them.
This was the first time An Qingbai had received so much attention, and he felt very nervous. He touched his forehead, which was covered in non-existent sweat, and tried his best to remain calm.
Zhuang Zhimeng blushed slightly under the gaze of so many people. Fortunately, it was nighttime and not easy to see. She smiled and stood next to An Qingbai, accepting everyone's attention with grace.
An Baogen clapped his hands to draw the villagers' attention back to him and continued, "There's one more spot. To learn how to drive a tractor, you need to go to town for a month of training. The requirements are that you have to be hardworking and able to read."
The purpose of this meeting is to see what everyone thinks. I'll also discuss it with my family when I get home, and we'll finalize the list of participants in the next couple of days.
"Alright, that's all, everyone can go now!"
When the brigade leader told them to disperse, the villagers, who had been waiting impatiently, quickly scattered to go home and discuss it. They all wanted to get the spot, as being able to drive a tractor was considered a great honor.
Zhuang Zhimeng nudged An Qingbai's arm. An Qingbai looked at her and said, "Brother Qingbai, not bad! You're going to learn to drive a tractor. Let me interview you. What are your thoughts?"
"I really want to learn how to drive a tractor. It seems useful and cool. Zhizhi, do you support me learning to drive a tractor?"
"Qingbai, I'll support whatever you want to do. Go ahead and learn!"
"I'm going to town for a month of training, and I'm worried about you!"
