Chapter 270 Why are you acting like a dog?

Chapter 270 Why are you acting like a dog?

They had now reached an altitude of over 800 meters, which was above the mountainside, and the forest was deep and dense. Li Laosan's words made everyone panic. If there was any movement here, it must be a large wild animal!

Qin Suisui and Jia Zhenzhen were also quite panicked. They had been to the small hills of Qiongtan Island many times but had never encountered any prey. The mountains in Yunnan Province were vast and deep; what if they encountered some indescribable wild beasts...

"Don't run! Find a place to hide first!" Li Lao Er gave the order, and the group quickly walked towards the cliff.

Qin Suisui and the other two were unfamiliar with the place, so they naturally followed Li Laoda and Li Laoer. But when they saw the two running straight toward the cliff, they were a little confused. Were they going to jump off the cliff?

Fortunately, after running a few steps, they saw two thick, sturdy trees growing on the edge of the cliff.

"Third brother, you take the two ladies up that tree, Comrade Hu, come with me up this tree!" Li Lao Er, though quick, was not flustered, giving instructions methodically, and not forgetting to explain to Qin Suisui and the others:

“Don’t underestimate the third son just because he’s the youngest in our family. He’s the best hunter and the strongest in the family. If something big comes along, he can protect you two.”

Qin Suisui realized that it was indeed Li Laosan who heard the noise first. His ears were even sharper than hers, who had drunk water from the spatial stream. He was truly a master hunter!

Qin Suisui wasn't very good at climbing trees, but Jia Zhenzhen was, and she was strong. She climbed up in no time, pulled Qin Suisui up, and then lifted her up by the waist.

Seeing this, Li Laoda and Li Laoer gave her a thumbs up, making Jia Zhenzhen a little embarrassed: "Hehe, I'm naturally strong."

Just as they were about to speak again, they saw Li Laosan make a shushing gesture to them. At this moment, Qin Suisui also heard it clearly. The footsteps were about ten meters away from them. They sounded very light and probably not from a large wild animal.

Sure enough, within seconds, a clouded leopard with golden fur and dark cloud-like spots appeared in their sight.

Li Laosan and Li Laoer exchanged a glance, a sense of foreboding flashing in their eyes. This clouded leopard could climb trees! Compared to the agile clouded leopard, they were actually at a disadvantage in the trees.

However, one cannot jump down rashly at this point, as doing so would alert the clouded leopard and further provoke its hunting instincts.

Although clouded leopards are strong fighters, they usually do not approach or attack humans. They only live in deep forests far from human activity. Why did they suddenly come to this area with frequent human activity today?

Li Laosan and Li Laoer prayed silently that no one would discover them in the tree. They had brought three guests with them today, and they couldn't let anything happen to them!

But sometimes, what you fear most is exactly what comes to pass.

The clouded leopard, which had been lingering at the edge of the cliff for a long time, suddenly raised its head and looked precisely at the tree where Qin Suisui was.

Qin Suisui's heart pounded. Could this be the trouble that those two little ones caused last night?

As expected, upon seeing Qin Suisui, the clouded leopard took a few more steps closer, its dark, wet nose twitched, and then an excited expression appeared on its face as it eagerly prepared to climb the tree.

"Oh no! The clouded leopard is coming up! We need to jump down from the other side quickly! Staying in the tree will only restrict our movement!" Li Laosan shouted in a low voice.

Fortunately, the tree was big enough that as the clouded leopard climbed up from the side, Li Laosan immediately covered Qin Suisui and Jia Zhenzhen, jumping down from the other side.

Li Lao Er and Hu Jue on the other side also climbed down from the tree.

The three men shielded Qin Suisui and Jia Zhenzhen behind them as they ran down the mountain. Li Laosan took out his bow and arrows, while Li Laoer took out his hunting knife. The two of them pounced on the clouded leopard that was running after them.

But Cloud Leopard clearly didn't want to pay them any attention and had no intention of attacking. Instead, it bypassed them, leaping lightly over Li Lao Er and Li Lao San, and landed in front of Qin Sui Sui.

"Ah!" Jia Zhenzhen screamed in fright, afraid that it would bite Qin Suisui's neck.

Surprisingly, Qin Suisui wasn't too scared. From the beginning, she could tell that the clouded leopard didn't intend to attack them. Its eyes... were so similar to when she first met Dahei and Dahuang in Changbai Mountain. Could it also have smelled the food in the space?

She tugged at Jia Zhenzhen, who rushed up to protect her, and whispered to comfort her, "Zhenzhen, don't be afraid, it probably doesn't want to bite me."

As he spoke, he reached into his backpack, pulled out an egg, and placed it in front of the clouded leopard.

This egg was laid by a chicken in the space, and it carried the aura of that space. Qin Suisui couldn't take anything else; she couldn't conjure up fruit or snacks out of thin air. On the other hand, Aunt Zhang had boiled a few eggs for them to take with them that morning, so taking them out now wouldn't seem out of place.

Sure enough, the clouded leopard paused for a moment when it saw the egg, then lowered its head and sniffed it. Its eyes quickly lit up, and it immediately lowered its head, picked up the egg in its mouth, and swallowed it without even chewing.

After finishing an egg, it immediately raised its round eyes and looked at Qin Suisui with hopeful eyes, its face saying, "Is there more? I want more!"

Qin Suisui chuckled and took another egg out of her bag—actually, from her spatial storage. Before Qin Suisui could even put it on the ground, the clouded leopard impatiently stuck out its tongue and snatched the egg from Qin Suisui's palm.

Jia Zhenzhen was so frightened that she broke out in a cold sweat, fearing that it would bite off Qin Suisui's hand.

Li Lao Er and Li Lao San were also bewildered by this scene. They had been walking around Sydney Harbour for so many years, and they had never seen a clouded leopard so docile, even begging for eggs from people?

No, do clouded leopards eat eggs? How come they don't know that?

Jia Zhenzhen had now regained her senses and realized that Qin Suisui seemed to have a special affinity for animals, despite having gone out with her so many times.

Now that she was no longer afraid, she became bolder. She took out the eggs she had brought that morning from her bag and placed them on the ground in an ingratiating manner, wanting to feed the clouded leopard the eggs.

The clouded leopard simply lowered its head to sniff, then haughtily turned its head away, continuing to look at Qin Suisui with hopeful eyes.

"No, what's going on? These are all eggs, why are you picking and choosing?"

Jia Zhenzhen glared angrily at Yunbao.

The clouded leopard ignored him, only gazing "affectionately" at Qin Suisui.

Qin Suisui chuckled. Of course, she couldn't say for sure that the eggs were indeed different.

She picked up the egg that Jia Zhenzhen had placed on the ground, wiped it with her hand, and actually used her sleeve as a cover to switch it with an egg from her spatial dimension, which she then placed in her palm and handed to Yunbao.

The clouded leopard wagged its tail happily a few times, then licked the egg from Qin Suisui's palm, being very careful not to bite her hand.

This shocked even Li Laosan and his companions.

Li Laosan patted his second brother's face in disbelief: "No, am I still asleep? Is this a clouded leopard? It looks like a dog!"
