Chapter 172: Like a Sister
Posthouse.
The maid came in and reported: "Your Highness, the Third Prince has arrived."
"Please." Wei Mingliang sat up straight, stretched out his hand to pinch the chin of the beauty in his arms and shook it, "Be good, go out first."
The beauty smiled sweetly, held his hand, lowered her head and left a light red lip print on his clean palm, then stood up and left.
She was smelling sweet air all the way, and when she passed by Yin Taiyu, she tilted her head and gave him a coquettish glance.
Even though she is extremely charming, Prince Yin San is not interested in the beauty now.
He walked into the room and said to Wei Mingliang with a stern face, "This is the Dasheng Posthouse, not the Xixia Imperial Palace. You spend all day drinking and having fun with prostitutes. Aren't you afraid that Emperor Shunguang will hear about it and cause trouble?"
"That's wrong. The more ridiculous I am, the more reassured that person will be." Wei Mingliang stood up and straightened his clothes in front of the mirror. "Why don't you learn from me? You still have to spend some time with that person anyway, so why bother yourself?"
Yin Taiyu pursed his lips and didn't want to pay attention to him.
Wei Mingliang took the cloak off the shelf and turned to look at him: "Since we are already on the same boat, why act so reluctant? If this can be done, Korea will also gain some benefits, right?"
Yoon Tae-woo: “I never thought about…”
"That was in the past." Wei Mingliang interrupted him, putting on his cloak as he spoke, "Times are different now. Please greet me with a smile, Third Prince. I don't want to see a widow's face all day long."
"Who are you calling a widow?" Yin Taiyu glared and clenched his fists, as if he was going to hit Wei Mingliang in the face the next moment.
Wei Mingliang glanced at him sideways and didn't take his anger to heart.
In his eyes, Yin Taiyu is now a dog locked in a cage. No matter how sharp his claws are, he can't hurt anyone.
If you want to blame someone, blame Yin Taiyu for being stupid. He gave him the evidence and now all he can do is yell at him.
"It's getting late, let's go." He started walking out, and when he passed by Yin Taiyu, he patted his shoulder. "Remember what I said, and behave well later."
Yin Taiyu's face was gloomy, and his teeth were almost broken as he stared at his back, but he had to suppress his anger and followed him.
The two men invited the envoys from Gaochang to enter the palace together, but were rejected.
It was just a formality, so Wei Mingliang didn't care. He walked out side by side with Yin Taiyu. Just as he was about to give Yin Taiyu a few more words, someone unexpectedly caught up with him from behind and shouted, "Second brother, wait a minute!"
Hearing the voice, Wei Mingliang turned around and saw the Princess of Western Xia and the Princess of Goryeo who came with her.
Meeting the tender eyes of the Goryeo princess, his brows slightly frowned, and a hint of impatience flashed across his eyes.
Princess Xixia pulled Princess Gaoli forward and said, "Second brother, Princess Meizhen wants to speak to you."
Wei Mingliang looked at her and said, "I'm going to the palace. If there's anything, we can talk about it when I get back."
"No!" It wasn't Princess Xixia who said this, but Princess Goryeo. She stepped forward and looked directly into Wei Mingliang's eyes: "I want to talk to you now."
Princess Xixia reached out and pulled Yin Taiyu, "Let's go wait at the door."
"But..." Before Yin Taiyu could finish his words, Princess Xixia raised her hand to cover his mouth and dragged him away.
Wei Mingliang gave a look and the servants serving around him walked away and waited for orders.
He then lowered his head and looked at the Goryeo princess in front of him: "Princess, what do you want to talk to me about?"
"I..." Princess Goryeo pursed her lips and clenched her fists. "I want to ask you, why are you avoiding me?"
"Princess, you misunderstood. I'm not avoiding you." Wei Mingliang smiled, but his eyes were devoid of laughter. He coaxed her gently, "I'm anxious to get to the palace now. Can I talk to you after I come back?"
"No! You're lying!" Princess Goryeo looked up at him, biting her lower lip with her teeth, her expression stubborn. "I want you to explain clearly."
Wei Mingliang patiently asked, "What do you want to clarify?"
"You...you..." Princess Goryeo stared into his deep eyes, gritted her teeth, and asked boldly, "Do you like me or not?"
Wei Mingliang smiled and said, "Of course I like it."
"Really?" Princess Goryeo was delighted, feeling her uneasiness finally settled. She couldn't wait to ask, "Then when will you tell your brother that you want to marry..."
"I love the princess as if she were my own sister." Wei Mingliang reached out and adjusted the pearl hairpin on the Goryeo princess's bun, his tone still gentle.
Princess Goryeo was stunned, her face turned pale instantly, and she looked up at him intently: "Sister?"
Wei Mingliang nodded.
"But you are not in love with..." Princess Goryeo paused in the middle of her words, as if she had realized something, and her whole body trembled uncontrollably.
She looked at the man in front of her, her mind in a mess. She opened and closed her mouth several times before she uttered a word: "Why... did you give me a gift?"
Wei Mingliang smiled and said, "I often give Yujin gifts, and I thought the princess Yujin likes might also like it, so I gave the princess one too."
It turns out to be like this.
Princess Goryeo felt dizzy and realized that everything was just her wishful thinking.
But, as if grasping at a lifeline, she asked, "Why did you accompany me to watch the snow late at night, and... and write poems for me, make me laugh, chat with me, and comfort me? You were so considerate and thoughtful?"
"Because the princess looked depressed, just like Yu Jin when she first left Xixia, I couldn't help but step forward to accompany her and offer some advice."
Seeing Princess Gaoli's face turn pale instantly, Wei Mingliang seemed to suddenly realize something. A hint of apology appeared on his face, and he said softly, "Princess, please don't misunderstand me. I only think of you as a younger sister like Yujin, and I have no other intentions."
Princess Goryeo stared at the genuine look of guilt on his face, and felt as if her beating heart had fallen into an ice cave and frozen into a lump. The chill rose from the depths of her heart, and even her lips turned white.
"It's my fault that the princess misunderstood." Wei Mingliang sighed softly, "The princess came here to marry. If I make a mistake because of me, how can I face Brother Yin? The princess and I should see each other less often in the future."
"It's windy outside. Princess, you need to go back quickly to get over your cold. Goodbye."
The cold wind lifted the hem of his cloak, and his tall figure gradually disappeared at the end of the corridor.
Princess Goryeo didn't know how long she had been looking, nor did she know when she turned back.
She walked like a zombie, one step deep and one step shallow. All she could see before her was the heavy snow that night and those affectionate eyes. She could still hear those words of concern and heartache in her ears.
How could it be my sister?
She didn't understand and accidentally tripped over a stone, stumbling and falling to the side.
"Princess, be careful." Tuoba Yong, who was out on business, saw this and ran over to support her. Seeing her tear-stained face, he asked curiously, "Princess, why are you crying?"
Princess Goryeo was brought back to her senses by his loud voice. She looked at him blankly, wondering who she was asking: "Why don't you like me?"
Tuoba Yong was confused: "Who doesn't like the princess?"
Princess Goryeo murmured, "The name is good."
"Your Highness?" Tuoba Yong looked closely at the Gaoli princess, who was heartbroken and lost in thought. He couldn't help but show sympathy and murmured, "Your Highness is truly a sinner."
"What do you mean by evil?" Princess Goryeo heard the clue and stared at him, her eyes dark and unable to see any light. "What do you mean by that?"
Tuoba Yong was frightened by her gaze, but seeing her so sad, he comforted her: "Your Highness is used to playing with women, and there are so many women around him. Princess, you are not the first one to be deceived. Don't be sad."
Princess Goryeo:!!!
