When Mrs. Zhao saw Jiang Yue take out an oil-paper bag, she could smell a sweet fragrance before she even opened it. She quickly refused, "Oh, you can't have this. Save it for Ningning. Xiao Jiang, you really don't have to be so polite!"
"Mom, I want to eat!" Zhao Yuanqi drooled when he heard there were pastries.
"What are you eating!" Mrs. Zhao glared at him. Zhao Yuanqi shrank his neck, but his eyes were still fixed on the oil paper bag in Jiang Yue's hand, swallowing his saliva.
"Sister-in-law, I bought a lot, so Ningning has something to eat!" Jiang Yue knew that resources were scarce in that era, and sugar cakes like this were high-end foods. Six cents each was not cheap, and one had to pay with food coupons.

Just as Jiang Yue left, the door to the Zhao family yard was pushed open again. Zhao's wife stretched her head and looked in surprise, "Old Zhao, why did you come back at this time?"

Mrs. Zhao looked at her little son's greedy look, feeling both angry and amused. In the end, she broke off a little and gave it to Zhao Yuanqi, "Here! That's all!"
"Xiao Jiang? Which Xiao Jiang?" Captain Zhao asked casually. He also picked up a piece and put it in his mouth. It was really sweet.
"Just take care of the captain's lover, Jiang Yue!"
"What? You mean the one from the Gu family?" Captain Zhao was shocked when he heard it. He pointed at the sugar cake in the oil paper bag and looked unconvinced. "She gave me the sugar cake? Jiang Yue?"
"Yes! Didn't Captain Gu come to borrow eggs this morning? Jiang Yue came to return the eggs and insisted on giving me a sugar cake. This is so precious..." Sister Zhao recounted what happened when she met Jiang Yue at the vegetable market today.

"Gu and I will be back in the afternoon!" Captain Zhao said and left in a hurry. He wanted to find Gu Ye to ask him clearly.
Driver Zhang Jianguo drove Gu Ye and Captain Zhao to a meeting. As soon as they got in the car, Captain Zhao smiled at Gu Ye and said, "Gu, have you been getting along well with your sister-in-law recently?"
Gu Ye held his hat in his hand and glanced at him, "What do you mean?"
After Captain Zhao sat down, Zhang Jianguo started the jeep.
"I just heard from your sister-in-law that your sister-in-law went to the market to buy vegetables this morning, but she bought too much and couldn't carry it, so your sister-in-law helped her carry it back. Then, guess what happened?" Captain Zhao kept the suspense interestingly.
Jiang Yue goes shopping for groceries by herself?
Upon hearing this, Gu Ye raised his eyebrows slightly.
Although Jiang Yue said last night that she didn't want Li Hongying to come again, and Gu Ye agreed, he thought that Jiang Yue might just be acting on a whim. He didn't expect that she would be so proactive this time!
