The conductor stared at Jiang Yue intently, which scared Jiang Yue. Her heart started pounding. No way, had she just been discovered kissing Gu Ye secretly?
Otherwise, why was the conductor staring at her? Did someone report her and Gu Ye for being hooligans in public, so the conductor came to arrest them?

"Go to sleep!" Gu Ye held Jiang Yue's hand and put her hand back on the bunk.

Jiang Yue was awakened by the noise before dawn. People were walking outside one after another in the early morning, some going to the toilet, some talking. Trains arrived one after another, some people got off and some got on, making a lot of noise without a break.

"Let me see the marriage certificate!" said the conductor.

Jiang Yue frowned. She knew that relationships between men and women were strictly controlled in this era. One had to have a letter of introduction to go out. If a couple wanted to live together, they had to bring their marriage certificate, otherwise they would not be allowed to stay.
But she and Gu Ye were just taking a train, not staying in a hotel room. Normally, a letter of introduction would be enough. Why did the conductor insist on asking them to produce their marriage certificate?
"We didn't bring our marriage certificate!"
Gu Ye was on a mission this time, and he was in a hurry, so it was impossible for him to bring his marriage certificate with him.
