Chapter 5 He is my man!

He saved her, but she blamed him?

Gu Ye's face turned pale. Just now he was wondering if Jiang Yue had a problem with her brain, which was why she behaved differently than usual. Now, haha, Jiang Yue was still being unreasonable as usual!

"When did I tell you that you have a terminal illness?" And he hasn't said a word since he came in!

Jiang Yue didn't notice Gu Ye's expression. She wiped her tears and said, "Didn't you touch my head and ask me if I felt uncomfortable? And you also told me to tell you if I felt uncomfortable!"

"So?" Gu Ye was confused. "I was just asking you where you felt uncomfortable. Did you mention the word terminal illness?"

"Hmm?" Jiang Yue's tears suddenly dried up, and her big eyes suddenly lit up. She couldn't wait to grab Gu Ye's hand and asked expectantly, "So I don't have a terminal illness? I won't die?"

Gu Ye's hand was grabbed by Jiang Yue again, and he felt numb from his palm to his arm. He had never felt this way before.

He wanted to pull his hand back, but couldn't. He could only endure the unbearable tingling and itchiness, looked away stiffly, and answered calmly, "No! No way!"

This sudden turn of events made Jiang Yue so excited that she forgot that this was the 1970s. She jumped up and hugged Gu Ye's neck, "Ah! I don't have to die! That's great!"

Not only did Gu Ye's hands and arms feel numb, but even his neck and half of his body were numb, especially the places where Jiang Yue touched, his muscles were all stiff.

What's wrong with this woman? She used to avoid him like a snake or scorpion, and they had never held hands. Why is she acting so strange today? She kissed him and hugged him?

Even someone as calm as Gu Ye took a few seconds to react. Then his eyes changed and he grabbed Jiang Yue's wrist and pushed her away.

“Jiang Yue!” Gu Ye shouted in a low voice. Just as he was about to say something shameful, he saw Jiang Yue groaning, covering his head and falling backwards.

Gu Ye was quick to act and hugged Jiang Yue. "Where do you feel uncomfortable?"

"My head hurts so much!" Jiang Yue felt dizzy and as if a chisel was hitting his head, his temples were throbbing.

"You lie down first, I'll go call a doctor!" Gu Ye helped Jiang Yue lie down, then turned and left.

Jiang Yue heard some murmuring sounds in her ears, and vaguely heard someone talking about that soldier comrade, but she couldn't make out what they were saying.

A moment later, Gu Ye came back with the doctor.

"Comrade Gu, your wife is fine. She is just suffering from malnutrition and low immunity. She caught a cold after falling into the water, which is why she is feeling uncomfortable. Go back and have more rest and drink more hot water. I'll prescribe some cold medicine for her." The doctor said to Gu Ye after the examination.

When Jiang Yue heard the doctor say that she was not seriously ill, she finally felt relieved. Fortunately, she did not have a terminal illness and would not die!

"But—" The doctor paused.

Jiang Yue's heart, which had just been put down, suddenly jumped up again. She stared at the doctor in horror, "But what? Doctor, am I sick?"

As expected, patients are most afraid of doctors' hesitation. Jiang Yue's voice was trembling and her hands were tightly grasping the quilt, for fear of hearing something bad from the doctor.

Gu Ye glanced at Jiang Yue and asked the doctor in a deep voice: "Doctor Wang, just speak frankly!"

The doctor flipped Jiang Yue's eyelids, shone a flashlight on her pupils, and pointed at the large bump on her forehead. "Comrade, you have such a large bump on your forehead. Did you get hit by something? Judging from the extent of the injury, it must have been a serious blow!"

Jiang Yue subconsciously wanted to touch the wound on her forehead, but her hand was caught by Gu Ye.

"Don't touch it!" Gu Ye said softly.

"Comrade Gu, your wife hit her head and may have a concussion. It would be best to do a CT scan of the brain to check for brain damage or cerebral hemorrhage. But -"

When Jiang Yue heard the doctor start talking again, the corner of her mouth twitched, and she didn't notice that her hand was still held by Gu Ye.

"But what?" Gu Ye asked.

The doctor looked up at Gu Ye and replied, "But currently only two hospitals in Beijing and Haicheng have CT equipment in the country. Our hospital does not have it, so we cannot do this test."

When Jiang Yue heard that there was a possibility of brain damage and cerebral hemorrhage, she immediately asked nervously: "If I don't get checked, will it delay the disease? Will I die?"

The doctor smiled and consoled her, "Lady, you don't have to be so nervous. Not everyone who hits their head will die. I see that you are in good spirits, so your condition shouldn't be serious. If you are worried, just stay in the hospital for a few more days for observation."

Jiang Yue immediately looked at Gu Ye. Gu Ye seemed to hesitate for a moment, but he immediately said, "Then stay a few more days!"

Jiang Yue breathed a sigh of relief, but after thinking about it, she said, "I don't want to be hospitalized, I want to go home!"

"Go home?" Hearing this, Gu Ye looked at Jiang Yue, his handsome face full of sarcasm, "Which home are you going back to? The Ji family?"

Jiang Yue's heart sank. The letter left by the original body did not mention the Ji family, but only said that his biological parents had been found. How did Gu Ye know that?

After a brief moment of distraction, Jiang Yue said hurriedly, "Of course, we should go back to our own home!"

"Haven't you always thought that was not your home?" Gu Ye sneered, obviously not believing what Jiang Yue said.

Jiang Yue knew that this was the sin of her original self. Ever since she married Gu Ye and moved into the family compound, her original self had been clamoring for a divorce and to move out.

"That was before, it's different now!"

"What's the difference?" Gu Ye's sarcasm became even stronger.

Jiang Yue saw that everyone in the same ward pricked up their ears and the corners of her mouth twitched. It was really the tradition of the flower-growing family that no matter what era, they were always particularly interested in gossip!

"Ningning is still at home. If I stay in the hospital here, who will take care of Ningning? It's not convenient for you to run back and forth! Didn't the doctor just say that the situation is not serious? Then it's the same if I go home to rest!" Jiang Yue pulled Gu Ye's sleeve and didn't want to discuss this topic any further.
