Chapter 28 Zhang Weiguo's Awkward Moment

Just then, counselor Tang Dahai arrived at the queuing site with his wife.

I originally thought I had arrived relatively early.

Upon inspection, a long queue had already formed in front of Chuxin Kitchen.

Goodness, it's only 10 o'clock! Anyone who didn't know better would think it was lunchtime.

Luckily I arrived early. Judging by the situation, if it had been 12 o'clock, I don't know how long I would have had to wait.

Seeing that there were probably fifty or sixty people already in line, he quickly went to the back of the line, afraid that if he was a few minutes late, many more people would be ahead of him in line.

at the same time.

A black sedan slowly came to a stop not far from the convoy.

Then the car door opened, and a man with a beer belly got out.

It was Principal Zhang Weiguo.

His eyes darted away, seemingly embarrassed but also looking helpless.

He then quietly and quickly moved to the back of the group.

He didn't notice that Tang Dahai was the one queuing in front of him.

Seeing Zhang Weiguo behind him in line, Tang Dahai quickly turned around and greeted him with a smile: "Principal Zhang, you're here to buy a boxed lunch too?"

Tang Dahai had already bought boxed lunches for Zhang Weiguo many times before, so he wasn't surprised that Zhang Weiguo came here to buy boxed lunches.

If it weren't for the current rule that each person can only order one boxed meal, I probably would have had to buy him one even though it's the weekend.

Upon seeing that it was counselor Tang Dahai, Zhang Weiguo nodded slightly and said in a low voice, "Don't be so loud, keep your voice down."

It was already inappropriate for a dignified president of Kyoto University to come here on the weekend and compete with students for boxed lunches, but Tang Dahai was talking so loudly, as if he wanted everyone to know he was there.

Tang Dahai seemed to sense that the principal was complaining about him, so he quickly put on a smiling face and chuckled, "Principal, why don't you line up in front of me?"

Zhang Weiguo gave him a disgruntled look. There were dozens of people in line in front of him, so what was the point of being in front of him?

“No need. It’s first come, first served. As the principal, I can’t break the rules,” Zhang Weiguo said slowly.

The two continued queuing, and a minute passed without either of them speaking, creating an awkward atmosphere.

Tang Dahai felt uncomfortable because he was ranked ahead of Zhang Weiguo.

Feeling like sitting on pins and needles.

After all, his boss was standing behind him.

At this point, as a subordinate, he had to find something to talk about to prevent the awkwardness from continuing.

His mind raced, as if he had just thought of something.

"Principal Zhang, have you forgotten about the lunch fee you promised to send me last time?" Tang Dahai blurted out.

The moment he said those words, he regretted them.

I was so nervous that I didn't know what to say for a moment, and I ended up blurting out what was on my mind.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Weiguo's expression was truly unpleasant: "Ahem... I've been too busy these past few days, so I forgot about it. I'll call you back in a few days."

"Okay...okay, no rush," Tang Dahai said hastily, afraid that Zhang Weiguo would have a problem with him.

The awkwardness at the scene deepened further.

"If only someone could break this deadlock," Tang Dahai thought to himself.

The next second.

An obese middle-aged man and several others squeezed through.

"Hurry up, hurry up, if you're any slower there will be even more people." Looking back, he saw Ma Jiang rushing over with his wife, children, and mother-in-law.

They then lined up not far behind Zhang Weiguo.

Seeing that everyone had lined up, Ma Jiang breathed a sigh of relief and said, panting, "Great, now we should be able to eat the new dishes."

Once he caught his breath, he looked ahead and saw that the person standing not far in front of him was none other than Principal Zhang Weiguo.

What a coincidence!

I never expected that he would also come here to buy a boxed lunch.

One of them is the principal, and the other is the vice principal. They had never gotten along well before because of competition for the position.

It's the kind of relationship where they're all smiles on the surface, but secretly cursing each other.

I can't stand the sight of either of them.

So when Ma Jiang saw Zhang Weiguo ahead of him in line, he was instantly furious.

But no matter how dissatisfied they were, they could only swallow their anger and keep quiet, since the other party was the principal.

So he could only pretend to greet him: "Principal Zhang, what a coincidence, you're here too."

Zhang Weiguo reluctantly hummed in agreement and made up a reason, saying, "I just happened to be at school today to get some materials, and I didn't have breakfast, so I came here to buy some boxed lunches."

Ma Jiang nodded and praised repeatedly, "Principal Zhang, you truly are a role model for our school, coming to work on the weekend."

Ma Jiang clearly realized that Zhang Weiguo was lying, so he deliberately mocked him behind his back.

Zhang Weiguo could easily sense the hidden meaning in his words, but he could only pretend not to hear them.

Then he turned his head back and continued queuing as if nothing had happened.

I came here to buy a boxed lunch because I wanted to keep a low profile and not let too many people see me.

Students are fine, but if it's a teacher or school leader, everyone would feel really awkward if they encountered it.

As a result, he ran into a counselor named Tang Dahai, and the next second he ran into the vice principal Ma Jiang.

One was someone he owed a lot of money to, and the other was his mortal enemy.

This is absolutely terrible luck.

All he's thinking about right now is getting to his turn in line, then packing up and leaving.

At the same time, after Ma Jiang's words, many students also noticed the school leaders who were queuing up.
