Chapter 8 The Angry Principal

Thinking about how his business was getting better and better, he slept very soundly that night.

........

The next day.

School conference room.

A dozen or so school leaders were having a meeting, with many key personnel sitting nearby.

Principal Zhang Weiguo was in the middle of the conference table, passionately outlining the school's grand blueprint for the future.

Counselor Tang Dahai was also one of the attendees.

However, he had absolutely no interest in listening to Zhang Weiguo's grand pronouncements today.

Yesterday afternoon, Zhang Weiguo had been in meetings all afternoon, until after 7 p.m.

That's why he missed Lu Rong's fried rice.

It made him furious.

The key issue is that this meeting didn't cover anything important; the entire meeting consisted of Zhang Weiguo rambling on and on about nothing.

What should have been a one-hour meeting dragged on for three or four hours.

That's not the point. The point is that Zhang Weiguo said he wanted to hold a meeting again this morning.

The content was no different from yesterday's; it was just the same few things over and over again.

But as a junior counselor, I didn't dare to speak in front of the principal.

They could only silently endure it.

As the time for school to end drew closer, he became increasingly irritable.

Ever since I ate Lu Rong's fried rice yesterday, I've been looking forward to eating it again soon.

He felt he was going to go crazy if he didn't get to eat today.

He kept glancing at his watch, praying that the meeting would end before school was over.

His actions were so obvious that they caught the attention of Zhang Weiguo, who was speaking excitedly.

Zhang Weiguo was very displeased upon seeing this.

I wondered if the meetings I was leading were really that boring.

What could be more important than my meeting?

When my wife was about to give birth, he wasn't as anxious as I am.

However, Tang Dahai is usually very responsible and takes meetings very seriously.

Why is everything so different today?

Or has something major happened at home?

Thinking about this, Zhang Weiguo felt that the possibility was very high.

It seems I should go and check on them later. After all, as the principal, I should also care about my subordinates from time to time.

The meeting had been going on for so long, and everyone was tired. They had already covered all the necessary points.

He cleared his throat and said, "Let's adjourn our meeting here today."

Upon hearing Zhang Weiguo announce the meeting was adjourned, Tang Dahai's interest was immediately piqued.

There are still more than ten minutes before school ends, so I can easily get there before the students finish and buy fried rice.

Now lunch is finally secured.

We'll pack a few extra portions to eat tonight.

Tang Dahai quickly got up and left the conference room.

At this moment, Zhang Weiguo, the principal, also quietly followed behind.

He wanted to see if something had happened to Tang Dahai's family.

After all, it wouldn't be appropriate to ask directly, so I had no choice but to go and see for myself.

Once downstairs, he drove his car and followed Tang Dahai, who was riding an electric scooter, at a distance.

Normally, the meticulous Tang Dahai would have definitely noticed that the principal's car was right behind him.

But today he was only focused on the fried rice, and didn't care about anything else.

My mind was completely focused on Lu Rong's shop.

Upon arriving at the destination, they found only a dozen or so students queuing up.

Tang Dahai immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

He parked his electric scooter to the side and joined the queue at the back of the line.

Everyone was very quick, and it was his turn in less than a minute.

He ordered four servings and scanned the QR code to pay eighty yuan.

He and his wife each have one serving, and the other two are for tonight.

After all, he couldn't guarantee whether the principal would continue the meeting in the afternoon.

He suspected that the principal had become addicted to holding meetings lately, so he needed to prepare in advance.

Meanwhile, Principal Zhang Weiguo was furious as he watched Tang Dahai getting his food from inside the car.

The counselors of a prestigious college are, after all, important backbone members of the school.

It's understandable if something at home makes you distracted during a meeting.

But after all that, all he wanted to do was eat?

Is my meeting really that boring?

He could understand if it were some top-notch delicacy, but just for a plate of fried rice.

Is it really necessary?

This was extremely disappointing to him.

He felt it was necessary to hold another meeting in the afternoon, and that he would publicly criticize this bad behavior at the meeting.

Just then, Tang Dahai, who had already bought the fried rice, strode away.

In his anger, Zhang Weiguo didn't notice for a moment and couldn't find anyone.

He quickly rolled down the car window, wanting to see carefully where Tang Dahai had gone.

As soon as the car window was rolled down, an exquisite fragrance wafted into the car.

"Hey... why does this fried rice smell so good?"

He had been in meetings all morning and had said so much, so he was already starving.

Now, with the aroma of fried rice wafting through the air, he no longer cared about Tang Dahai's whereabouts.

My heart had already drifted to Lu Rong's fried rice.

He got out of the car without hesitation.

I'm going to buy myself something to fill my stomach first.
