Chapter 146 Becoming the Holy Maiden of the Blood Lotus Sect?

Su An pounded on the narrow cell door with almost screams, a jumble of guesses flashing through his mind.

Before they lost consciousness, the other party clearly mentioned the Blood Lotus Sect, so they must have been captured and taken away. The fact that the other party didn't kill them must mean they had some purpose.

As for himself, an ordinary person, he was of no use; the important one was Prince Fu Zhun!

Sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, the noise outside the carriage seemed to fall silent for a moment.

Before long, the heavy carriage curtain was lifted, and through the iron cage, a man in a black and red robe with a sinister face could be seen outside.

It was the leader who was chasing them!

At this moment, Xue Sha's eyes swept over with a half-smile, "What do you know that you dare to presumptuously ask to see this elder?"

Su An was immediately startled. So this person was an elder-level figure?

She immediately clenched her fists and stared coldly at the other party: "I don't know what you are plotting, but if the prince doesn't receive treatment soon, he will die!"

"You wouldn't want the bargaining chips you've worked so hard to acquire to die and lose all their value, would you?"

Upon hearing this, Xue Sha narrowed his eyes slightly, a thoughtful look appearing on his gloomy face.

He had to admit that Su An's words made sense; Fu Zhun's special status did indeed play a crucial role in their negotiations with the imperial court.

After a moment of silence, Blood Fiend finally spoke: "You have a point. Men, go and fetch a doctor. Make sure this cripple can live on."

Taking advantage of the brief moment, Su An quickly glanced outside and discovered that they were located on a hilltop, surrounded by a group of people dressed in Blood Lotus Sect robes.

Several of the believers hurriedly left, seemingly heading down the mountain to find a doctor.

As time ticked by, Su An's heart grew increasingly tense.

She stayed by Fu Zhun's side the whole time, constantly wiping the cold sweat from his forehead.

"Elder, the doctor has been brought here!"

Upon hearing this, Su An's face lit up with a slight smile.

Then suddenly, there was a creaking sound as the chains were opened, and immediately some cult members took the unconscious Fu Zhun away.

She hurriedly ran out of the carriage.

Upon closer inspection, it became even more alarming: two rows of Blood Lotus Cult members surrounded the group as if monitoring them, leaving no opening for escape.

"Heal this cripple right now, or your life will be in danger too!" Blood Fiend impatiently pulled over an old man and slammed him down in front of the two of them.

The old doctor was slightly hunched over, with gray and somewhat disheveled hair. He wore a simple gray robe and carried a medicine box on his back, looking every bit the part of a renowned physician.

When the old man inadvertently raised his head, his eyes revealed a cold and sharp light, meeting Su An's gaze directly.

“You…” A familiar feeling suddenly welled up in Su An’s heart, and he was so shocked that he couldn’t speak.

The old man's movements, demeanor, and even the aura emanating from him were actually Xie Qingfeng in disguise!

Xie Qingfeng subtly gave Su An a wink, signaling her not to make a fuss.

But this scene instantly aroused Xue Sha's suspicion. His eyes flashed with hostility as he shot towards Su An, "What, you two know each other?"

Suppressing his excitement, Su Anqiang bit his lip and said anxiously, "This doctor is so old, can he really treat patients? What if his old eyesight is failing and he misdiagnoses them?"

He then looked at Xue Sha with unease: "Where did you find this country doctor? Is he reliable?"

"Is that so?" Blood Fiend frowned upon hearing this, looking down at them with suspicion still lingering in his eyes.

"Come to think of it, it's quite a coincidence that we caught this doctor not far down the mountain."

His scrutinizing gaze lingered on Xie Qingfeng's face, and the more he looked, the more something seemed off, though he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"Cough cough... I must have forgotten to check the almanac before I left home. I just dug up some herbs in the mountains and you guys dragged me up here again, insisting that someone needs medical treatment. It's really worn out my legs!"

Xie Qingfeng feigned anger and stomped his foot. "If there's no one to treat the illness, don't delay this old man. I still have to go back to the village to see patients!"

As he spoke, he inadvertently revealed the dirt and grime under his fingernails, as well as some grass roots he had dug out from his bosom.

Seeing this, Su An quickly added to his acting, glaring at Xie Qingfeng and shouting, "In short, doctor, please take a look. If anything happens to him, we'll really be doomed. Please don't make any mistakes!"

"You little brat, you're so long-winded. It's my duty to heal the sick and save lives, so don't cause trouble."

Xie Qingfeng forced out a reprimand in a hoarse, old-fashioned voice, then hunched over and stepped forward, intently taking Fu Zhun's pulse to examine him.

After observing for a while, Xue Sha felt there was no problem and acquiesced.

"Phew..." Su An finally breathed a sigh of relief, then secretly glanced at Xie Qingfeng, feeling a sense of unease.

Why is the miracle doctor here? Did he come to save them?

It's truly admirable that they could think of disguising themselves and venturing in alone to take such a risk!

Just as Su An's mind was racing, a follower came up and said, "Elder, the meal is ready."

Xue Sha nodded, ordered someone to keep a close watch on the old man, and then his gaze fell thoughtfully on Su An.

"Young lady, you can't go far on an empty stomach. Come and have something to eat with us."

Su An was startled and looked up in surprise at the elder whose eyes and brows exuded a gloomy and eerie aura.

What's going on? Is this person really that kind?

Although Su An was unwilling, he knew that he could not refuse easily at this time, lest he anger Xue Sha.

I had no choice but to bite the bullet and go to the dining area next door.

A small, empty hill with a fire lit up, without even a tent pitched, seemed to be a place to rest temporarily before continuing on the way.
