The medicine seems to have some effect.
They couldn't revive the person, but they managed to keep them barely breathing, their intermittent breaths audible.
Xue Sha held Feng Chunlian tightly, and tears streamed down the face of this eight-foot-tall man.
Whether it was a murmur or a recounting, he just sat there dumbly, choking back tears as he rambled on about their past, "Master, do you remember the first time we met? You were like a fairy descending to earth, saving me from my destitution."
"From that moment on, I vowed to protect you with my whole life..."
"I haven't repaid your kindness yet, I haven't protected you properly, you can't die!"
The mournful cries, like a thick layer of gloom, enveloped the small, secret room.
Su An's throat tightened involuntarily, and perhaps infected by the atmosphere, a trace of despair spread through her heart.
Unable to bear watching any longer, she turned around, her exhausted body relaxing, and threw herself into Fu Zhun's arms without hesitation.
"Do you think there's any hope for her...?"
Fu Zhun tightened his arms around her waist, looking down at Su An in his arms. His dark eyes, like deep lake water, rippled with an unknown tenderness.
"No matter what, we've done our best. If she can hold on, there might still be a glimmer of hope," Fu Zhun said softly, gently stroking Su An's hair to comfort her.
The hand moved slowly and steadily, causing Su An's eyelashes to tremble, and her agitated mood gradually calmed down.
Well, let's hope so!
If we really can't get out of this secret room, perhaps, as Fu Zhun said, it's fate that we're buried together.
Su An pondered in a daze, and soon his eyelids began to droop, and he took a short rest as fatigue and drowsiness overwhelmed him.
How wonderful it would be if I woke up to find it was all a dream.
Su An was filled with a faint sense of anticipation, but she was soon awakened by Xue Sha's increasingly terrified screams.
"Chunlian! Chunlian, wake up!"
"Quickly, give Chunlian some more pills!"
Xue Sha held Feng Chunlian tightly, too afraid to move, and could only glare at Su An with his swollen red eyes and roar.
Feng Chunlian's breath grew weaker and weaker, like a wisp of smoke swaying precariously, ready to dissipate into the cold, sealed room at any moment.
Blood Fiend held her tightly, his eyes filled with deep despair and helplessness.
"We're out of pills, only three left. The one I just fed you was the last one." Su An said, looking at his dry throat, feeling a sense of sorrow for his friend's passing.
The surrounding air seemed to freeze.
Blood Fiend didn't speak again, only his eyes were bloodshot as he clenched his back teeth, the mottled bloodstains overflowing from his lips revealing his despair and collapse.
Just as Su An turned her face away, unable to bear it any longer, a loud "boom" suddenly came from the wall.
A hole, about the height of a person, was broken open in the wall of the secret passage, and a dazzling light instantly poured in from the hole.
Su An's mouth trembled violently, and after a half-second of stunned silence, her eyes lit up with surprise. "A hole, a hole!"
"We're saved!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than several soldiers in armor rushed in.
After scanning around, I noticed that Fu Zhun and Su An also broke out in joy at the same time.
"Quickly spread the word! The Prince and Miss Su have been found!"
After the leading soldier finished speaking, he quickly walked up to Fu Zhun, suddenly knelt down on one knee, and said with shame, "Your Highness, I am late and have frightened Your Highness and Miss Su!"
Fu Zhun nodded slightly, squinting in the sunlight to reveal a shockingly pale and weary face.
"Get up, lead us out of here, the rest of you continue the rescue."
After giving a few simple instructions in a hoarse voice, he suddenly went limp, his eyes slowly closed, and he seemed to have lost all his vitality.
"Fu Zhun!" Su An exclaimed, the string of excitement in his heart snapping instantly, and he subconsciously reached out to catch him.
However, the soldiers acted faster, firmly supporting Fu Zhun, and then anxiously said to Su An, "Miss Su, the divine physician is outside. This humble servant will take the prince there first to have the divine physician treat him. Please explain the situation here, Miss Su!"
Su An was worried, but nodded helplessly. Now that the divine doctor was with her, she could feel a little more at ease.
After directing his soldiers to send Xue Sha and Feng Chunlian out for treatment, Su An continued to explain the layout of the secret passage, saying that there were probably still dozens of people trapped inside.
"This tunnel is prone to collapse again after being bombed. Tell the soldiers to rescue those they can, and to evacuate immediately if things get dangerous. Their own lives are more important!" Su An frowned and gave a heavy instruction.
She hadn't forgotten the infighting that took place in the secret passage, even targeting Feng Chunlian!
Such a petty person, who is grateful for a little kindness but resentful for much, is not worth the soldiers risking their lives to rescue!
The soldiers nodded emphatically in acceptance, secretly looking at the girl with newfound respect.
The prince had instructed that if he was not present, Miss Su would have the authority to command the operation. He had thought she was just an ordinary young lady, kind-hearted but brainless, but he never expected her to have such a broad perspective and to consider the safety of the soldiers!
The respect the soldiers held for Su An silently rose to a new level.
Su An didn't notice their expressions. After quickly explaining the situation, he turned and headed towards the tent where Fu Zhun was.
While they were trapped in the secret passage for days, the soldiers set up camp and dug tunnels outside to rescue them, and now they are clearing the secret passage in an orderly manner.
Su An quickly walked around, just in time to see Xie Qingfeng emerge from the tent with a grim and serious expression.
Her heart skipped a beat, a bad feeling rising in her heart. "Divine Doctor, how is Fu Zhun?"
"How did you all end up like this?" Xie Qingfeng looked at her, his brows furrowed so deeply they could trap a fly.
"The prince took three Hidden Dragon Pills in succession to forcibly enhance his power, but he was unable to get any nourishment or rest. Now the backlash has damaged his internal organs and depleted his strength. His condition is critical."
Xie Qingfeng scratched his head in frustration. "I'm going to get the medicine and brew it now. If you have time, keep an eye on him! If there's any unusual reaction, have someone come find me immediately!"
After he finished speaking, he walked away quickly, leaving Su An standing there in a daze, tears slowly welling up in her eyes.
"The situation is so bad... I actually doubted him before, I..."
Damn it!!!
Overwhelmed by regret and self-blame, Su An couldn't even cry out; she bit her lip tightly and rushed inside.
Fu Zhun lay quietly on the wooden couch, his hands limply at his sides, his slender fingers slightly bent, as if he were searching for something even in his sleep.
Her breathing was weak and slow, each rise and fall making one anxious, fearing it would stop at any moment.
Su Anwei's face turned pale, and she dared not make a sound. She could only stay by Fu Zhun's side and do what she could to wipe his sweat.
The bitter smell of medicine lingered inside the tent for three days.
Before Fu Zhun woke up, Feng Chunlian appeared, carefully supported by Xue Sha.
Xue Sha's face was full of concern and tension, as if he were afraid that Feng Chunlian might suffer any mishap. "Be careful!"
Su An was speechless at the sight.
"Miss Su, thank you so much this time, otherwise I would be dead in the ground."
"How is the prince?"
