“Of course.” Su An sat with her hand supporting her chin, pointing at his cheek as she looked at him.
For some reason, she felt that Fu Zhun seemed somewhat melancholy tonight.
His eyebrows and eyes remained calm and indifferent, and he spoke as usual, but a dark mist seemed to shroud his eyes, making his expression somewhat distant and hazy.
Hmm... he looks even more dashing and handsome, unattainable.
When Su An spoke again, her tone was filled with concern: "Today is a joyous festival for family reunion, why does Your Highness seem troubled?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Fu Zhun's faint smile froze on his face.
He looked at Su An, a rare hint of surprise on his face. "Hmm?"
He believed he had hidden his emotions very well.
Su An felt embarrassed; she couldn't very well say that she had keen insight and was meticulous, could she?
So she gestured toward the wine jug on the table, saying, "I rarely see you drink. If you're going to drink, then drink. Other people drink with joy, but you look so melancholy."
When she arrived, Fu Zhun was already drinking at the stone table in the courtyard, and the atmosphere wasn't exactly cheerful.
Upon hearing this, Fu Zhun merely pursed his lips slightly.
He raised his hand and poured himself another glass of wine, his voice slow and barely audible: "Family reunion brings joy and laughter; this night on earth surpasses even paradise, truly a day of perfect harmony and happiness."
Su An watched him drink it all in one gulp, and a hint of melancholy seemed to gather in his eyes. His face was cold and jade-like, without any redness, but he looked as if he was already half drunk.
Before he could even begin to speak, his hoarse voice, filled with suppressed emotion, rang out: "After my mother was banished to the Cold Palace, I only had time to accompany her to admire the Mid-Autumn Festival moon one last time before I had no more chances."
Su An's heart skipped a beat, and she opened her eyes slightly in surprise.
Mother? Cold Palace?
