Since she entered the house, she has caused so much trouble, disrupting their lives and making them unable to have peace.
Li Guihua stammered, "She has it tough too, living alone, it's common for her to have suicidal thoughts..."
That means they refuse.
"Mother! Are we going to wait until something really happens before we regret it? The He family owes us, but she's just begging for food and drink at home, and she's using all sorts of petty tricks. Even a toad that doesn't bite can make me feel disgusted just sitting there!"
Su An said excitedly, one hand on his hip, his face flushed.
Li Guihua quickly helped her sit down and comforted her, gesturing towards He Wangshi's residence.
“We have a grudge against her, and I know she’s on our side. I believe you about the powder you mentioned tonight, but we need to catch her in the act and chop off her claws once we have something on her.”
"I understand the principle of raising a tiger to cause trouble. Keeping her by my side and under my nose is better than letting her go out and run wild."
Su An calmed down and realized that her mother's words made sense. She just had to blame herself for being too impulsive tonight and alerting the enemy.
"Mother, have someone keep a close eye on her. She'll definitely do it again."
Su An instructed that this matter should be put aside, and after saying a few more words to Li Guihua, he left.
She didn't go back to her room to rest; she simply couldn't fall asleep anyway.
But she thought of Fu Huai, and once the thought arose, it grew like weeds, never ceasing.
She wanted to see Fu Huai, right now.
Without a second thought, Su An arrived at Fu Huai's courtyard. The gate was locked, so she methodically went to another wall, stepped on a large stone, and began to climb the wall.
She sat atop the wall, muffled groans and screams coming from beneath her feet.
She looked down and saw a bloodied man lying on the ground, whips lashing him repeatedly.
"Betray your master and expose your mastermind, and you'll suffer less."
"Don't kill them. They can be kept as seed material for medicine. People trained by the master might be able to survive a few more rounds of drug trials."
Hearing Xie Qingfeng's voice, Su An looked up and saw that it was indeed him, the master they had been talking about...
As expected, Fu Huai was surrounded by people, his eyes filled with indifference and coldness.
He's completely different from the person I usually see—
Su An subconsciously pursed her lips, but Fu Zhun had never treated her like this before.
I'll definitely be fine!
Despite these thoughts, Su An's mind was still in turmoil.
Just as she was about to return the way she came, her ankle suddenly tightened, and she was pulled off the wall. The feeling of weightlessness made her scream in terror.
The next moment, her throat was gripped by sharp claws, three fingers digging into her carotid artery as if being cut with a knife, and she was so frightened that she dared not swallow.
Zhou Li and Xie Qingfeng set off at the same time, their eyes fixed on the blood-soaked man with gloomy expressions.
Fu Huai glanced at them, stopping their actions without changing his expression, but the knuckles of his hand gripping the wheelchair turned white.
Seeing this, the blood-covered man sneered, picked up Su An's hair with his other hand, twirled it between his fingers, brought it to his nose and sniffed it, then provocatively looked up and shouted at Fu Huai, "Fu Huai, you dog, let me go right now, or her life will be in danger!"
"Big brother, I was just passing by, please let me go!" Su An was on the verge of tears; tonight had been too thrilling.
I'll check the almanac next time I go out.
Fu Huai's eyes flickered slightly, and he finally turned his head, coldly saying, "Choose a hostage of value. Xie Qingfeng is better than her. If you want to kill, then kill. She's not enough to exchange for your life."
It was as if Su An's life or death was not enough to attract his excessive attention.
Zhou Li looked up in surprise, and even Xie Qingfeng showed some astonishment.
The two exchanged a glance, and at the same time, they both saw in each other's eyes: The prince is doomed, he's going to be without a wife!
Enraged, the bloodied man gripped his fist tightly, digging several deep dents in the skin, and roared in despair, "Impossible! You were inseparable from her, day and night, and you had no feelings for her at all?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Su An suddenly burst into laughter, a sorrowful look in his eyes.
"So in your heart, I'm worthless? What about all my efforts? Maybe you're right, I'd rather be dead."
Heartbroken, she tilted her head back, exposing her neck, and brought her hands close to his sharp claws, urging him: "Kill me quickly! Companionship without affection is like a pile of loose sand; it will scatter without even a breeze!"
Fu Huai pursed his lips tightly, but his heart started to race, as if a large hand was gripping it, causing a dull ache.
The blood-soaked man panicked and hastily dodged, crying out, "I don't want to die! What good is your death? I won't be buried with you!"
Su An lowered her eyes, showing no excitement whatsoever, only calmness.
If she gambled correctly, her only use against the blood man would be to threaten Fu Huai. If that didn't work, the only person she feared most was him.
She shouted even louder, clutching her head with both hands and yelling, "What's the point of living? Just to be used and then discarded? Fu Huai, I've done so much for you willingly, why don't you turn around and look at me? Is it only when I die that I can occupy a place in your heart? Fine, then I'll die right now!"
Su An abruptly pushed away the blood-soaked man's grip and rushed towards the solid artificial hill in the courtyard.
"Come back!" the blood man roared angrily, his only shield was about to be gone!
Now the bloodied figure was completely exposed to Fu Huai.
"Su An, close your eyes." Fu Huai's words were filled with hostility yet unwavering, inexplicably giving her a sense of peace, and she instinctively closed her eyes.
A sharp whooshing sound exploded in my ears, followed by a thick smell of blood filling the air.
She dared not open her eyes until she heard the sound of the wheelchair rolling over the bluestone slabs.
Fu Huai took her hand with one hand, and could feel the warmth of his palm through her clothes, unlike the dryness he usually felt.
Su An knew it was Fu Huai. After getting up, she calmed her breathing, prepared herself mentally, opened her eyes, and curiously looked back.
Two darts were inserted into the throat of the blood-soaked man, precisely severing his trachea, leaving it stained with blood.
"Don't look, you'll have nightmares." Fu Huai gently covered her eyes and half-pushed her towards the main hall, with Xie Qingfeng and Zhou Li following closely behind.
