Chapter Thirty-Four: Taking them into one's own hands

"You hired me and you dare deny it? Are you trying to pin all the blame on me?!"

Ni Dagui, with his shrewd look, immediately started wailing and crying after being kicked to the ground, yelling for his thugs: "Help! Help! The Su family's breakfast shop is causing trouble and hitting people!"

As a businessman, he always believed he could be flexible and adaptable. However, Zhang San clearly didn't buy into his scoundrel act. In a fit of anger, he pinned the man down and punched him repeatedly.

After all, if Ni Dagui doesn't admit it, he will be guilty of the most serious crimes of robbery and violence. Not only will he have to compensate for the shop's losses, but he and his gang of henchmen will also be sent to prison and never be able to get out of jail!

Before long, Ni Dagui's nose was flattened and his mouth was crooked. His cries of pain weakened, but he still stubbornly insisted that Su An had deliberately brought people to cause trouble and refused to admit it no matter what.

When the thugs arrived, he felt as if he had seen a savior, but unfortunately, they were all taken down by the sword in an instant.

Ni Dagui was dumbfounded and finally felt scared. He could only turn to Su An and curse: "It's outrageous for a woman to run a shop! She does nothing but use vulgar tricks and is only good at attracting customers with her face!"

"What else can you do besides bullying the weak?!"

This counterattack immediately provoked the anger of the group.

Zhou Li, enraged, rolled up his sleeves. "We're supposed to be civilized people, but since you're being unreasonable, I'll beat you into submission with my fists! Count me in!"

Fu Zhun nodded expressionlessly at Jian Yi. "Go. There's no need to say more to Fu Po Cai."

However, Su An, who was amused by the situation, reached out to stop the two of them and called Zhang San back.

Her eyes were cold and clear as she stared straight at the rascal Ni Dagui, who was howling. "You're right. It's a bit unfair to just use your fists to settle things. So I'll make sure you lose fair and square and be convinced of your defeat."

"I'll shut your noodle shop down completely in one month!"

"What a joke!" Seeing that Su An only dared to make threats, Ni Dagui became even more arrogant, spitting out his disdain, "If you weren't bullying me with your power, would you really think I'd be afraid of you! I'd be waiting for you!"

Su An nodded with a half-smile. Very well, I hope he can still be arrogant a month from now!

She didn't say anything more and turned to leave.

After dealing with Ni Dagui, there were still Zhang San and his gang of underlings to contend with.

The underlings, who had been tied up in the woodshed by Jian Yi, were now being dragged out of the yard like chicks, their expressions filled with panic.

Seeing the pleading look on Zhang San's fierce and stern face, Su An pondered how to deal with these people.

Then Fu Zhun ordered, "Send them all to the yamen for punishment."

Zhang San and the others trembled, their faces turning ashen, which Su An found somewhat amusing.

She wasn't this timid when these people smashed her shop.

"etc."

Su An thoughtfully observed Zhang San and the others' muscular bodies, then had another idea and hurriedly stopped them.

Fu Huai waved his hand, and Jian Yi immediately released the group of thugs, awaiting further instructions.

Su An turned to face the crowd and smiled, "Would you like to come work as guards in my shop?"

"The guards are paid two coins a month. The odd jobs are paid separately, depending on your work efficiency, and are paid by piece."

Zhang San, who had been looking tense, was completely stunned upon hearing this.

Ten coins for one tael, and two coins for wages—that's the kind of price you only get at a gambling den. It's not only filthy and chaotic, but you're also constantly being beaten and verbally abused. And now, breakfast stalls are willing to hire them? And for odd jobs, they're paid extra per piece?!

Seeing the crowd's blank stare, Su An assumed they were unwilling and, feeling regretful, frowned, saying, "If they're unwilling, then so be it—"

"We're willing! We're willing!" Zhang San was the first to react, his face flushed with excitement, and he agreed repeatedly.

He thought that was how his life was going to end, but unexpectedly, things took a turn for the better. Boss Su even gave him so much money. What a kind person!

He wished he could kowtow to Su An on the spot.

This is a living Bodhisattva!

"Thank you so much, Boss Su, for giving us this opportunity. We are extremely grateful and will do our best to serve the shop!"

His underlings were equally overjoyed, looking at Su An with the excitement of someone looking at a savior.

"Mr. Su is a magnanimous man and will never hold a grudge against us. We will certainly not let you down!"

"Pah, pah, now you should call me boss!"

"Boss Su is above all, Boss Su is mighty!"

The group of seven henchmen, though they all had a thuggish air about them, were clear about their grudges and seemed to have no ulterior motives other than being a bit reckless.

Su An raised his hand, exuding confidence and brimming with pride, "Alright, stop calling me boss, call me Boss. From now on, I'll protect you and pay you your wages. Save up your money, get married, and live a happy life. And don't do anything illegal or disorderly anymore!"

A group of his underlings were moved to tears and worshipped Su An as if he were a god.

Fu Huai raised an eyebrow at her, stroking the carved armrests of the sandalwood wheelchair, and asked, "They tried to harm you, and you were in danger several times. How can you still use them without any resentment?"

Zhang San and the others felt a sudden jolt and looked nervously at Su An.

"The shop is short-handed, and they're all so good at fighting, so their safety will be guaranteed. Why not use them?" Su An said with a wink and a smile.

In the future, incidents of shops being vandalized will only increase, so just in case, and for the safety of her family, she really needs a few bodyguards.

Fu Zhun smiled slightly and nodded approvingly, "Then congratulations to Miss Su for having wings on her back."

He realized that the young girl was not entirely kind-hearted; she only chose people to serve, and even if there had been past conflicts or grudges, she could skillfully win them over to their loyalty.

Fu Zhun's dark eyes showed a growing appreciation. It didn't matter; if they were ungrateful or harbored ulterior motives, they could be dealt with thoroughly later.

Zhang San and the others were so moved that they wept bitterly, and many of them immediately knelt down and kowtowed.
