Chapter 1 [Magnificent Interstellar Space] A Day in the Life of the Matilda People

Dada Matil lives on the peaceful and beautiful planet Matil.

From space, this beautiful purple planet is covered in blue-purple vegetation, and the atmosphere refracts outward, causing Matthias to emit a pinkish-purple light, making it magnificent and dazzling.

The Martyrs are peace-loving and a rare peaceful species in interstellar space.

Countless adventurers who love interstellar travel often choose to visit this beautiful planet in the Elpha system.

As the azure moon and stars rose in the sky, the day began for all the Martyrs.

"Honey, you should go to work."

Dada Mathilde's wife, Lorna Mathilde, gently pushed open the heavy black wooden coffin and softly offered a kiss:

"The trading device keeps ringing; there might be good news today!"

"By the moon and stars, my dearest Rona, you are as radiant and beautiful as ever today. I hope there will be some good news today."

Dada Mathil opened his eyes. His face was bluish-gray with slightly protruding eyeballs. Below his neck was not flesh, but segments of white bone.

He parted his dark lips and passionately responded to Rona's kiss:

"The Day of the Dead is almost here, but there aren't many customers in the shop. I was worried that the mature brains in the Brain Ranch wouldn't be enough—damn it, the brain seeds I bought from Mannil a few days ago were just planted and it's not harvest time yet."

The room contained three black wooden coffins, two large and one small, surrounded by pure white candles with layers of candle flames beneath them, resembling sculptures.

The flickering candlelight reflected the starlight outside the window, and a palm-sized sculpture of the Moon Goddess raised her hands, surrounded by piles of purple "flowers".

Look closely, and you'll see that these flowers are full of life, with petals as bright as flesh, and countless tiny stamens struggling and twisting restlessly, like little tentacles.

"Honey, do you remember what we talked about?"

Lorna affectionately nibbled on her husband's cheek, and before she knew it, her eyeball had fallen out of its socket. She skillfully stuffed it back in.

"Don't panic when something happens; believe that everything is arranged by the moon and stars."

"Don't panic when something happens; believe that everything is arranged by the moon and stars."

The couple recited the words in unison. Lorna smiled slightly, nimbly picked up the "flowers" in front of the Moon Goddess sculpture, buried her head in them, and took a large bite.

"Hmm—I have a feeling today is a good day (chewing...)"

Rona was a top-tier beauty, with a rounded skull and joints all over her body as white as jade, like ivory soaked in milk. Even the color of her head was a captivating bluish-gray.

Dada Mathilde often thanked the moon goddess for marrying such a stunning beauty.

Lorna opened her mouth and chewed the "flowers" greedily; the purple, fleshy petals oozed scarlet sap, and she closed her eyes in bliss.

“Honey, these purple starfish are really delicious (chew, chew, chew), let’s buy more next time we come back (chew, chew, chew).”

The chewed food didn't fall straight to the ground down the skull; instead, it vanished into thin air, as if there was an entrance to a black hole in Rona's throat.

Oh, Moon Goddess! Even the way she eats breakfast is so captivating.

Dada Mathilde clutched his sternum and couldn't help but sigh.

...

...

Under the gentle night sky, Dada Mathil arrived at the location of his restaurant and skillfully pulled an eyeball-shaped compressor from his pocket and threw it on the ground.

He has a lot of work to do today. He will have to go to the Brain Ranch late at night to buy some fresh brain grass.

With a "whoosh," a beautifully decorated restaurant with a sign bearing the words "Matilda" appeared instantly.

The other buildings on the street are mostly the same style: purple-pink walls, adorned with large orange, red, and green star-shaped flowers, and signs projected into the air, displaying lines of distorted text.

[Dada Mathilde and Lorna Mathilde's Restaurant]

[Supply includes: Fresh brain matter harvested from brain farms, absolutely fresh!]

[Available: 1:1 replica of the "extinction virus" flavored meat patties, absolutely delicious!]

[We have imported purple star flowers from Manier Star and imported tartar sauce from Balmor Star available. Come and try them!]

The restaurant had no windows on any side, and the interior could only be glimpsed through a small door. The decor was also very similar: black ebony coffins, white skull candles, large orange flowers, and palm-sized sculptures of the moon and stars...

As for the tables and chairs, they were even simpler, all made from the bones of giant beasts. The gleaming white joints emitted a faint fluorescence under the moon and stars, making them particularly eye-catching.

"By the Moon Goddess! May we have even more guests on this new day!"

Dada Mathilde stood at the door admiring the night sky for five minutes before leisurely walking into the restaurant, lying down in the black coffin, and falling into a deep sleep.

After a moment of dizziness, Dada Mathil opened his eyes and found himself standing in a pure white virtual space, surrounded by people of various planetary races.

—This place is like a huge, endless market, upside down and overlapping, sometimes even with one person's image superimposed on another.

The mirror image, the flip, and the background color are constantly changing. Sometimes it's a bottomless black hole, sometimes it's a roaring thunder, sometimes it's a vast sky, but more often it's the cosmos.

Countless stars wander in the magnificent universe, colorful and dazzling, making one feel as if they are in a dream.

Everyone took it for granted—it was just another ordinary day on the StarNet.

...

...

Countless messages converge here, and countless pieces of intelligence flow out from here. You can do whatever you want here; it's practically the freest place in the entire universe.
