Xu Milu pursed her lips, half-squatted down, and gave Sang Aite a serious high-five:
"I, Xu Milu, am now a friend of the dwarves. I will be loyal to my friends and never betray them."
...
...
Xu Milu stood at the port. Sunny, whose eyes were already red from crying, refused to say goodbye to her in person, and only asked Lola to bring her a dagger inlaid with gems.
Three days ago, after consulting with Xu Milu, Lola officially awarded her the Junior Chef Medal on behalf of the Culinary Association.
"According to the rules of the Culinary Association, the awarding of a chef's medal requires the presence of at least one elder of the Culinary Association, one Culinary Hunter, and one witness. Judge Jeber and Mr. Morgan are happy to be your witnesses."
Lola shook her head with a hint of regret:
"You can turn mandolin into a delicacy and even bring out the multi-layered flavor of spiciness. If it weren't for your insufficient mandolin capture level, I would beg the guild leader to grant you the intermediate chef's medal!"
There are five levels of chefs, and each level has three stages. The first three levels are beginner, intermediate and advanced culinary apprentice, beginner, intermediate and advanced culinary assistant, and beginner, intermediate and advanced chef. After the third level, there are master chefs and top chefs.
The culinary world is boundless, with new routes being opened every day, and the search for ingredients is endless. This means that a chef's level depends on the level of the ingredients they capture.
Even so, it is still quite surprising that Xu Milu was rated as a junior chef with only four dishes.
Some chefs dedicate their lives to honing their culinary skills, yet miss out on grading because their ingredients don't meet the required star rating. This assessment marks a pioneering moment in the history of the culinary association, establishing a grading system for common ingredients.
"Thank you, but there is still much for me to learn on the path of a chef. I should not be complacent just because I have mastered some novel cooking methods. After leaving Mandolin Island, I plan to find a master."
Xu Milu has always been aware of her weaknesses and knows that she still has a lot to learn.
"You are truly the most interesting human being I have ever met."
Lola patted her shoulder, deliberately avoiding looking at her, her eyes slightly red:
"You better take care of yourself from now on. Humans are so fragile, so don't die before we meet again—keep the brooch I lent you safe and return it to me next time we meet!"
Human lifespan is short, and the world of gastronomy is boundless; our next encounter may be decades from now.
Elf wood symbolizes the blessings of the elves and represents their approval.
Xu Milu touched the brooch on her chest, a serious glint flashing in her golden eyes:
"Okay, I'll return it to you next time we meet, and I'll cook you something else then!"
...
Only after the ship had completely disappeared below the horizon did Sunny emerge from under her large elven robes:
"Teacher, will we see Miss Milu again in the future?"
"Yes, it will. It definitely will."
Lola rubbed her head.
