Chapter 110 [Post-Apocalyptic Reconstruction] Mimicking Snake-Headed Cockroaches & Mutant Vine Bananas

"Don't we need to clear these mutated plants? And what about that mutated ivy we saw when we came in? Zombies, corpses, and small mutated animals are all within their hunting range. If this continues, if they mutate, they could become even more troublesome than zombies."

"What?"

After hearing this, Ding Xiang stopped in her tracks, looking at Xu Milu with an expression of utter disbelief, and then patted her on the shoulder earnestly:

"Have you been reading too many online novels? No matter how much plants evolve, what kind of trouble can they cause with a petrol bomb or a fire? Do you think they can evolve intelligence like mutated animals and plot against you?"

Xu Milu's eyes flickered, and she said meaningfully, "You can't say for sure."

Something shrank in the darkness.

"Look at you, so cowardly! A grown man, more timid than a cat. Just stick behind me today. What danger could a mutated banana tree pose? Are you afraid it'll eat you?"

Dingxiang roughly shoved a burlap sack into her hand:

"Alright, we're here. Stop dawdling! Everyone, be careful when you go in. Collect samples in groups of three, and then gather at the entrance when you're done!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the team member immediately pulled out a scorpion robot, no bigger than a fist, and threw it on the ground. The robot's tail lifted up, revealing movable light sources.

Several new light sources suddenly appeared, illuminating the scene before them, and a suppressed roar of excitement erupted from the team:

"It really is a mutant banana!"

"so much!!"

"There are so many?!"

"It's a mutated vine banana!"

This is a three-tiered fountain built inside a shopping mall. There is less than ten centimeters of water in the marble pool, and a chubby little boy marble statue stands at the very top.

Extending outwards from the center of the fountain, rows of tall, straight banana trees stand tall, their long, wide, oval leaves a vibrant emerald green. The pseudostems above ground extend upwards, and upon closer inspection, they have become woody.

The banana leaves are not arranged in a conventional spiral pattern of overlapping and pressing. Instead, brown vines grow from the roots, climbing in all directions like passion fruit vines, and producing spike-like yellowish-white inflorescences.

What's most striking is that at the nodes of these vines grow yellowish-gray "false roots," about 1.2 meters long, standing upright like swords. When Xu Milu tried to break off a section, a layer of white sap immediately seeped out from the cross-section of the "false root."

"This is... a banana?"

Xu Milu followed the others' actions and took a bite. Savoring the somewhat familiar sweet aroma, she still found it incredible:

"Is this a banana?"

Whose bananas are 1.2 meters long?

She'll believe you if you tell her it's a yam!
