Chapter 124 Matsutake Mushroom Ramen

"So you're a monk from the temple."

Xu Milu smiled and said, "This is vegetarian food: premium winter melon with braised pork, stir-fried three-color vegetables, stir-fried vegetarian delicacies with chili, tea-scented vegetarian chicken, five-spice roasted gluten, and vegetarian noodles with mushrooms. The vegetables are five coins a serving, and the noodles are three coins a bowl. Would you like to try some, Master?"

The burly man's mouth watered as he listened, and he nodded repeatedly.

"Yes! Yes! Yes! You young lady, you are so young, yet your cooking skills are amazing. This taste is something you can hardly find anywhere else in the world!"

Xu Milu took out the prepared bowls and plates, filled them with the dishes, and placed them in front of her. She hadn't brought any wooden stools or benches, but the burly man didn't mind; he picked up the bowls and plates, sat on the ground, and began to eat heartily.

"Delicious! This tastes amazing!"

"It's winter melon and tofu! What a clever idea!"

"Delicious, so fragrant! This food is so much better than those bland...tasteless dishes!"

Xu Milu was happy to have such supportive customers. The dough in her hands kept changing shape with her movements. When the dough was stretched into a snake shape, she extended it along both sides, folded it in half, and repeatedly stretched and bounced it on the cutting board. In no time, the dough became a thin noodle that was only a few centimeters thicker than a hair.

"Smack!"

"Smack!"

The sound of dough slamming against the work surface was especially loud in the night. The burly, dark-skinned man, who had eaten a lot, still seemed hungry. He picked his teeth as he watched Xu Milu pull the noodles, and couldn't help but show a look of surprise.

"Young lady, what excellent cooking skills you have!"

Xu Milu smiled but did not answer. She boiled the water and cooked the noodles until they were soft. She then put them in a bowl, poured on a sauce made with king oyster mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms, and pan-fried matsutake mushrooms until cooked through. Finally, she poured a spoonful of rich mushroom soup on top, and the steaming hot matsutake vegetarian ramen was ready.

"Wow! This fragrance is so strong that even Buddha himself would lose his footing!"

The burly, dark-skinned man took the bowl of noodles and began to slurp them down.

Xu Milu kneaded the noodles no less than ten times, making them chewy and delicious. The mushroom topping with soybean pulp had a distinct granular texture, and each bite was filled with the aroma of mushrooms. The pan-fried matsutake mushrooms had a unique fragrance. Poured with hot mushroom soup, a bowl of this made you feel completely comfortable.

"happy!"

This burly, dark-skinned man's belly was like a bottomless pit. He ate ten bowls of vegetarian noodles and still wasn't satisfied, so Xu Milu had to knead the dough on the spot.
