Chapter 15 Finding Sales Channels

The woman smacked her lips, savoring the sweet aroma of grapes, and reluctantly withdrew her hand.

"Don't worry, I guarantee these are pesticide-free fruits, they haven't even been sprayed with pesticides. If you're still not sure, you can have them tested."

Xu Milu remained calm. The people in Fried Village probably didn't even know what fertilizer was, let alone pesticides.

"Auntie, I can see you're really interested in buying. You've tasted these grapes yourself; they're so sweet and juicy. Have you ever seen grapes this big anywhere else? You won't regret buying them. How about five pounds to try? A box is six hundred. Can you take it?"

The older woman felt a little flustered as Xu Milu looked at her with a smile. However, she quickly thought that the grapes were indeed delicious, juicy, and sweet. She could buy some for her son and daughter's families, and that wouldn't be much.

Although it's a bit pricey, the taste is just as good as other brands like Shine Muscat, and the size is quite large, making it a presentable gift.

These grapes are so big, they look beautiful just sitting in a fruit bowl, not to mention how delicious they are.

"Okay, give me ten pounds, and make sure the scale is full. I brought my own electronic scale, and if the weight isn't enough, I'm going to complain!"

The older woman made the decision with a wave of her hand, and Xu Milu officially opened her business.

"Okay, don't worry, this scale is brand new this morning, it won't shortchange you."

Seeing that she had sold ten jin in one go, Xu Milu quickly moved two boxes onto the scale and made sure the old lady could see the numbers displayed on the electronic screen.

Ten jin equals 1200, which is a good start for today.

After the first order was sold, most of the customers who came afterward just tried it. The few who did buy it only bought three or four boxes. One customer who drove over was attracted by the size of the Ping Pong grapes and bought 20 jin (10 kg) of them. He put them in his trunk and left without even tasting them.

The vendors at the nearby stalls were intrigued, and several of them came over to chat, trying to find out where she sourced her goods.

"Hey little sister, where did you get this fruit from? Is it imported?"

"It's so big! Is it tasty?"

"Your price is too high, so nobody's buying it. American cherries are only 55 yuan a pound, but your grapes cost more than 100 yuan a pound. They won't sell."

Xu Milu smiled and pretended to be stupid:

"This is a new product developed by our company, and it's not available anywhere else. The price was also set by the boss; I can't make that decision."

The group, unsure whether they believed it or not, exchanged knowing glances.

"Oh, a new variety."

"No wonder it was so expensive..."

"It's a new variety."

When people inquired about her source of goods, Xu Milu wasn't angry. Instead, she invited the group to try the Ping Pong grapes and egg cherries. The group was initially a little embarrassed, but seeing Xu Milu's insistence, they decided to give them a try.

"How can it be so sweet?!"

Someone took a bite of the Ping Pong grape and couldn't help but exclaim in surprise. Looking at the half grape pulp in his hand, it was a translucent green color, like a lump of jelly.

The other person didn't even throw away the skin, savoring it as they went:

"It's so sweet! I've never heard of this variety before. It's really delicious. It tastes even better than the Japanese Shine Muscat grapes. Eating too much Shine Muscat grapes can make your mouth dry and it's so sweet it's cloying."

As he spoke, he took his phone out of his pocket and smiled somewhat sheepishly.

"Little sister, your grapes are delicious. They're worth 125 yuan a pound. Give me four boxes."

As if some strange switch had been flipped, the remaining vendors all said they wanted to buy several boxes to take home, and two of them even added Xu Milu on WeChat.

Xu Milu knew perfectly well that these people were quick-witted and probably had their eyes on the prospects of Ping Pong grapes, hoping to get a supply from her.

However, Xu Milu's source of goods was in another dimension, and if too many people handled it, her biggest secret would be easily exposed. Therefore, she pretended not to understand what the other party meant and did not respond.

Before long, word spread like wildfire, and more and more vendors gathered in front of Xu Milu's stall. Most of them had come to see the new product after hearing about it, but after they tasted it, they couldn't help but buy a box to take home.

As more people gathered, the stalls became more popular, and many passersby stopped to taste the grapes and then decided to buy a whole box.

Before long, more than half of the ping-pong grapes were gone.

Compared to ping-pong grapes, Xu Milu didn't sell a single box of egg cherries. After all, among so many fruits, egg cherries, priced at 160 yuan per kilogram, can be considered "sky-high priced fruit".

Xu Milu had anticipated this, but she did not change the price. After all, cherries were 55 yuan per jin wholesale, and egg cherries tasted better, so there was no reason why they weren't worth the price.

Xu Milu was busy until noon when the driver and his wife went to lunch. Only then did she have time to sit down and check the accounts, and unexpectedly, she ran into an acquaintance.

...

...

It was the same woman who had helped Xu Milu with the paperwork that morning. She was leading a little girl who barely reached Xu Milu's thigh, and was gently coaxing her:

"Nannan, be good, we can't eat any more ice cream, or you'll get a tummy ache, okay?"

The little girl, with her hair in a princess style and wearing a pink dress, pouted as if about to cry, but the next second her eyes lit up when she saw the eggs and cherries at Xu Milu's stall, and she came running over in her little leather shoes.

"Auntie, may I eat this hawthorn berry?"

Xu Milu picked out an egg and cherry and handed it to the little girl, smiling at her: "Of course you can, you're so cute, this is for you, Auntie."

The older woman was taken aback, clearly recognizing Xu Milu as well, and walked over with a smile to greet her:

"Little sister, is that you? How's business today? Oh—these are cherries?"
