Chapter 22 [Magic Dimension] Magic, Combat, and Ingredients

On the thirteenth day of the forest expedition, the knights at the forefront claimed that they had finally found the trail of the king-level tortoise-shaped magical beast.

At the same time, the expeditionary force had entered the outer perimeter of the Grebari Forest—which meant that from here on out, the dangers they would face were no longer just low-level magical beasts, but truly dangerous large magical creatures.

"Click!!!"

"Crack!!"

The monster with seven serpentine necks raised its head and screamed, each neck ending in a jackal-like head, yet below the necks were the four legs of a beast—as the seven heads screamed in unison, their flapping wings stirred up enormous hurricanes that swept around them.

"Click click click ah ah—"

"Click-clack ahhhhh—"

"Boom... boom boom boom..."

"Boom..."

The powerful storm snapped the trees in the forest, even some towering giants. With the rage of the monster horde, a giant tree that was as thick as several people could hug was snapped in half like a small cabbage, revealing its white core.

Behind the giant tree were countless nests made of piled-up rocks and dead branches. Young animals, not even as big as adults, were howling with their mouths wide open. Beside them were countless unhatched eggs and piles of human skeletons.

Clearly, the adventurer group had disturbed the group of female beasts who were incubating their eggs, and their strong maternal instincts and territorial instincts drove them completely mad.

"God of Light! What the hell is that?!"

"Watch out!! That's a seven-headed hydra that's skilled in wind magic, and it can also spray hallucinogenic magical powder!!"

"Damn it! There are fifteen seven-headed serpents here! We can't let them breed in this area. The nearest village is only seven days away! Such a large group of monsters will kill the villagers!"

"Watch out!!! They've started casting magic!!"

Clearly, the warning had no effect. The first to be affected were the knights in heavy armor—they were paralyzed by the powder and didn't even have time to raise their lances before being dragged into the air by the enraged seven-headed serpent!

"Merciful Sky God, dwelling in a distant divine realm, please grant your humble believer a blessing, and summon your devout apostle, the Son of Wind, to temporarily suspend his longing for the Earth Mother Goddess... Floating Magic!"

As the temple mages chanted in unison, purple magical elements were summoned and caught the unfortunate group of knights with pinpoint accuracy.

"Line up! Don't panic! The mage is casting earth magic to create a trap!"

To Xu Milu's surprise, Aigard didn't seem as foolish as he appeared. In fact, faced with this situation, he was able to make a quick judgment and direct the expeditionary force to deal with the Hydra horde.

"Temple troops, continue casting spells! Heavy cavalry, use your speed to lure these monsters into the traps!"

Huh? Egard actually has a brain??

Xu Milu, who had just kicked a seven-headed serpent away, couldn't help but glance at the center of the crowd. There, she saw Aigard's fat face, etched with greed.

"You idiots from the Adventurers' Guild! Pick up your weapons and aim them at these filthy monsters!!"

"Drive the orc slaves to the front lines, damn it!!!"

"Wood magic, fire magic, earth magic... whatever you do, destroy them!!! Damn it! Do you know how many gold coins these seven-headed hydra eggs can sell for on the black market?! Damn it, damn it, damn it!!"

Xu Milu: "..."

She took back her thought; this guy was incredibly stupid.

...

...

"boom!!"

"Boom boom boom!!"

Under the magical blessing, the flat ground suddenly transformed into countless huge depressions. Some of the seven-headed serpents were unable to dodge in time and fell straight into the traps filled with stone spikes. Before they could even struggle, the knights' lances pierced their necks.

"We praise the water goddess who possesses both wisdom and beauty. May your blessings protect your faithful followers, and may the endless streams converge from the Milky Way... the crown of water!"

"Forest Goddess, your followers praise your great name! New buds sprout, old leaves emerge, we humbly beg for your protection... the entwining of trees!!"

Dark clouds gathered over the forest, and large raindrops suddenly fell. Unlike the gentle spring rain, each raindrop carried an extremely sharp killing intent, precisely slicing the throats of the seven-headed hydras!

These enraged monsters seemed to sense something was wrong, swinging their necks in an attempt to escape, but vines sprouting from the ground instantly bound their limbs, making them completely unable to cope with the ensuing barrage of boulders—

This time, the magicians cast spells much slower, and Xu Milu also keenly sensed that something in the air seemed to have changed.

It's similar to a single energy rapidly gathering, but it feels more like using talismans or magical artifacts to draw upon spiritual energy.

"Clang!"

William's longsword pierced the head of a seven-headed serpent, and Fanny followed closely behind, biting the neck of the unfortunate serpent as it cast its spell. As blood gushed out, Xu Milu pulled out a dagger and delivered the final blow to its heart!

"Crack!!"

The seven-headed serpent collapsed to the ground somewhat unwillingly, its seven necks limp and sprawling like ropes, its massive body crushing a patch of newly grown saplings.

—This is the last seven-headed hydra. The adventure team has begun to tally the casualties and the profits from this hard-fought battle.

Slightly fishy-smelling beast blood gushed out, and Ella eagerly filled her water pouch to the brim. Facing Xu Milu's curious gaze, a blush spread across her face.
