Chapter 26 I feel you are insulting me

The Aomori Hotel acted quickly, delivering the remade identity watch early the next morning, registered under the name "Milu".

"Once your identity watch is replaced, you can freely enter and exit the auction house. The next auction is tomorrow morning. The entry guarantee fee is one hundred gold coins. Would Lady Milu like an attendant to accompany her?"

Maggie respectfully handed over the watch, an exceptionally lightweight mechanical timepiece. A tap on the dial would display the day's temperature and the current time, while the chip in the center of the dial was the true proof of entry into the auction.

Xu Milu knew nothing about the auction process and was desperate for a professional guide. Maggie's words were like a godsend.

She smiled and waved her wristwatch:

“It seems you know a lot about auctions, Maggie. In that case, I might need you to come with me.”

"It is Maggie's honor."

Maggie lifted her skirt and slightly bent her knees, then suddenly seemed to remember something and said:

"Sir, the two children from the market yesterday came to visit you this morning, but since you were still resting, they left first. The things you requested have been delivered."

She stepped slightly to the side, revealing a leather bag on the table behind her, which she tied with a simple knot of straw rope.

"What I wanted? So fast?"

Could it be Zhihe and Zhili?

The two children only agreed yesterday to find some wheat stalk and egg seeds for her, and they've already made a harvest today?

Xu Milu quickly stepped forward, opened the animal skin bag, and saw that it was indeed full of seeds. They were slightly damp to the touch, and it was obvious that the person who delivered them had collected them overnight, so that they still had dew on them.

"What about Zhihe and Zhili? Have they already gone back?"

Xu Milu turned to ask Maggie, who replied gently:

"If you're worried about the two children, you can rest assured. Those two little guests have already left with their father."

Xu Milu calculated the time and realized that it would be at least another six months before the next harvest of fried dandelions. The two brothers, Zhihe and Zhili, should have returned to the village with their father.

She absentmindedly rummaged through the bag, and suddenly noticed that there was a small bag about the size of a palm at the very bottom of the animal skin bag.

Xu Milu had a sudden thought. She put the small cloth bag into the storage compartment, and then tied it back up intact in front of Maggie.

The small cloth bag contained a handful of seeds, round like glass marbles, with a bluish luster.

Although it's not much, it's enough to illustrate a lot.

Xu Milu knew without guessing that these must be the seeds of the Ping Pong grape.

The villagers in this other world are surprisingly simple and honest.

Xu Milu pursed her lips.

...

...

The auction was being held on the 27th floor of the Aomori Hotel. Xu Milu then understood why Maggie was so familiar with the rules of the auction venue.

The hotel's 26th and 27th floors are connected, with a huge crystal chandelier hanging in the center of the lobby, and layers of private rooms separated by blue velvet curtains.

Soft music played gently, waiters in uniforms moved about the venue, elegantly dressed women waved their feather fans, and masked gentlemen chatted quietly, creating an atmosphere of inexplicable languor.

In one of the private rooms, Maggie praised Xu Milu with a beaming smile:

"Miss Milu looks exceptionally beautiful today."

"Thanks."

Xu Milu has a sweet, doll-like face that doesn't seem aggressive at all. When she smiles, her eyes easily curve into beautiful crescent moons, making it easy for people to like her.

Today, she had changed into a unique mercenary outfit. Underneath, she wore a white silk undershirt, with an open-shouldered leather armor over it. A thin belt accentuated her delicate waistline, and she paired it with dark green shorts and brown over-the-knee leather boots.

Her wrists, knees, and elbows were protected by padding, and to conceal her identity, Xu Milu chose an inconspicuous black mask.

She now looks like an ordinary mercenary.

Xu Milu was naturally happy to be praised for her beauty by a beautiful woman.

"Please rest assured, sir. Gourmet hunters who wish to remain anonymous often visit Buji Town, so your identity information will be kept absolutely confidential within the auction house."

Seemingly seeing through Xu Milu's thoughts, Maggie lowered her head slightly and whispered in Xu Milu's ear.

...

Suddenly, a commotion broke out in the room, with a constant buzzing of conversation.

Xu Milu followed the crowd's gaze and saw a group of men and women dressed as mercenaries striding into the venue. The tall, middle-aged man at the head of the group even looked somewhat familiar.

With his Westernized appearance, wild red hair hanging down his back, a deep scar under his right eye, muscular build, and sinister eyes, this man was clearly a dangerous individual.

One of the people following behind him was Vera, whom he had met not long ago.

"It's Lord Su Lang!"

"Lord Su Lang!"

"Su Lang is here too? I heard Puka died in the Snowstorm Valley. It seems the news is true. Su Lang has been preparing for this auction for so long, why didn't Puka show up if he was alive?!"

"I heard there will be an auction of rare ingredients tonight. No wonder the Wolf Head Mercenary Group is here too!"

"Haven't you heard? The Wolf Head Mercenary Group's first adventure team was almost completely wiped out in the Snow Valley! Only a few wounded survived!"

"Oh my god!!"

"I heard they encountered a pack of Mastiffs, and if it weren't for the mercenaries risking their lives to bring back Lord Puka's body..."
