Liu Peiqiang was unaware of what was happening in the meeting room. He was sitting on a stool filling out a report when Wang Jianning, who had been sitting opposite him, couldn't help but stand up and walk over to him.
"Why did you stop? Is your pen out of ink? Or should I find you a new one? Oh, am I blocking your light? I'm not bothering you. You write yours, I'll just watch, just watch."
After witnessing such a scene firsthand, Wang Jianning unconsciously spoke to Liu Peiqiang in a softer tone.
He was so glad he believed what the other person said. If he had missed it, he would have slapped himself hard when he thought about it in his sleep fifty years from now.
The two had become acquainted, and Liu Peiqiang asked with a smile, "Aren't you going home to eat dumplings with your family during the Spring Festival?"
Wang Jianning smiled as well:
“My wife and son are at home. They ate two more dumplings because I didn’t go back. We have to thank you for that, otherwise the New Year wouldn’t feel like New Year at all.”
Five tons of grain, when distributed among the shelters accommodating a million citizens, is just a drop in the ocean. Although the dumplings contain dried earthworm powder and coarse grain flour, and the filling is made of frozen meat, it is already a very rare food for them.
“I didn’t do anything. You have to say our alien friends are kind-hearted. They exchanged fifty pounds of soil for so much food.”
Liu Peiqiang lowered his head and continued filling out the report. A long list of questions was written on the black and white paper, and he filled it all out.
[Question 1: Can I only buy ingredients at the Mountain and Sea Restaurant?]
[Question 2: Does the shop owner pose a threat to Earth? (Please describe your first impression of the shop owner using the simplest words.)]
Question 3: Rules for energy point exchange within restaurants.
[Question 4: Do you think it's possible to exchange precious minerals from Earth for other resources?]
[Question 5: Do you agree with revealing the current state of Earth to the target "Xu Milu"?]
...
[Question 147: In your judgment, does the target character "Xu Milu" have a favorable impression of Earth? Rate her from one to ten, should she be categorized as "friendly," "unfamiliar," or "well-intentioned"?]
[Question 148: In your opinion, is it possible to leverage the shop owner's influence and her sympathy for Chinese residents to obtain some material assistance?]
[Question 148: Are the locations of these restaurants random? How often are they open, and could humans use them to find habitable planets?]
[Question 149: Can the target person "Xu Milu" enter Earth through the "time portal"?]
[Question 150: Based on your life experience, is it possible that the target character "Xu Milu" comes from a parallel universe Earth?]
[Question 151: Please recite a scene from "Mountain and Sea Restaurant" from memory.]
[Question 152: Are you willing to continue contacting the target person? (Simply answer "yes" or "no".)]
Liu Peiqiang paused for a moment.
...
...
"I can't understand that this is beyond the scope of modern science. You mean, there is an alien who is full of goodwill towards Earth, and our people exchanged 50 kilograms of lunar loam for five tons of grain?"
A white man opened his mouth to question, and at the same time he spoke, Chinese translation came through everyone's simultaneous interpretation earpieces.
“I understand how you feel, but we can’t understand it either, just like we couldn’t believe at first that the sun would have a helium flash.”
The woman in a formal suit turned off the video and explained:
"China has taken control of the residential building, but according to the description of our citizen Mr. Liu Peiqiang, this 'restaurant' that exists in the universe will appear on February 22. Due to the urgency of the situation, we have held a meeting to vote on whether we need to contact this mysterious lady—the answer is yes."
"No, no, no, how can you ensure that this alien has good intentions for Earth? If this is just a trap, are you going to jeopardize the future of all mankind?"
Representatives of the coalition government couldn't help but raise the question:
"I think China should report to the coalition government and let all mankind make a judgment."
