Qi Jiang was still clueless, and quite naively took the apples and distributed them to the group, not forgetting to joke around and liven up the atmosphere:
"Sister-in-law, I heard before that you were a veteran of our space station, and so was my girlfriend. Her name is Wan Ya. You might even know each other. Here, Miss Xu, have an apple too. You volunteers have worked hard."
Liu Peiqiang was so angry that he glared at him, wishing he could kick him.
Wasn't his implication enough?
How many of the women surnamed Xu that he mentioned before, and who he was asked to "treat well" to, are there?
"Thank you, Comrade Xiao Qi."
Xu Milu didn't stand on ceremony and took the apple and took a bite—perhaps because of the lack of sunlight, most of the apples here were green and not sweet enough; one bite was so sour it felt like biting into a lemon.
Even so, the tart aroma of apples made the children in the ward frequently swallow their saliva.
"Peiqiang, when did you meet Xiao Xu?"
Han Duoduo naturally offered Liu Peiqiang a half-eaten apple and asked him a question.
"Sister Duoduo, I own a restaurant that specializes in all kinds of food. I can cook Cantonese, Sichuan, and Shandong cuisine. Your husband bought some glutinous rice balls from my restaurant a while ago, and those were made by me."
Xu Milu threw the apple core into the trash can, wiped her hands, and said with a smile:
“We also have some special plants in our shop, such as osmanthus tea, which is good for patients like you. Next time your husband comes to my shop, I'll have him bring some for you to try.”
Han Duoduo was immediately delighted:
"Really? So you made those glutinous rice balls that day? I haven't had such authentic glutinous rice balls with lard in so long. I remember when I was little, my family would roll glutinous rice balls for the New Year... It's really rare to be able to eat glutinous rice balls now."
Upon hearing this, Liu Peiqiang leaned forward slightly and asked breathlessly, "Really, Miss Xu? Can I buy some of that osmanthus tea?"
His reaction seemed really strange to others, and Qi Jiang couldn't help but tug at his sleeve and whisper:
“Brother Liu, who drinks tea like medicine? Besides, back in 1953, weren’t there people selling ‘anti-radiation water’? I don’t think this Miss Xu is reliable.”
Liu Peiqiang's face was contorted with rage, like a green eggplant about to explode.
My teammates aren't doing a good job!
"Miss Xu is the owner of [Shan Hai Restaurant]. The 'Shan' in Shan Hai Restaurant is 'Shan' (mountain), and the 'Hai' (sea) in Shan Hai Restaurant is 'Hai' (sea). Would you like someone to entertain her?"
He practically gritted his teeth as he said those words.
