This seaweed soup smells so good, I bet they put something in it.
He smacked his lips, seemingly already imagining the taste of seaweed soup, but hesitated, ultimately unable to bring himself to do it:
"Okay, then, have a drink."
The shop already had soy milk cups and a sealing machine. Xu Milu cleaned the machine early, ladled out the black needle grass egg drop soup from the pot, made a cup, and handed it to the old man.
"Soy milk is fine too, how much?"
That's what he said, but the old man simply took out one yuan and fifty cents from his pocket and put it in the money box.
Xu Milu is shy, and her face turned red, but thankfully she was wearing a mask so it wasn't noticeable.
"Grandpa, seaweed soup is five yuan a cup."
"How many?"
The old man's eyes widened. Ningcheng was just a third-tier city. A bowl of soy milk only cost 1.5 yuan, and a cup of seaweed soup cost 5 yuan. It was really a bit expensive.
"Our seaweed and egg drop soup is different from others. You'll know once you taste it."
Xu Milu poured out a cup and handed it to the old man. He hesitated for a moment, but the aroma was so enticing that he bought it anyway.
Several more people came to buy breakfast, but when they learned that only steamed buns and seaweed soup were available, they all chose to buy breakfast elsewhere.
After all, if you walk a little further ahead, there's a small morning market where a set of jianbing guozi (Chinese crepe) costs four yuan, youtiao (fried dough sticks) with soy milk costs three yuan, tofu pudding costs four yuan and fifty cents, and an egg guanbing (egg pancake) costs three yuan and fifty cents with an extra egg. The dry steamed buns and the seaweed soup with unknown ingredients are really not tempting.
Xu Milu worked hard all morning but only sold seven steamed buns and four cups of seaweed soup.
Around 10 o'clock, the streets were bustling with people, and no one noticed Xu Milu sitting behind a large steamer, her face full of worry.
Even the best wine needs advertising. Although Xu Milu was willing to guarantee that her black needle grass and egg drop soup was delicious and smelled good, nobody knew about it. Who would go to a breakfast shop just to buy seaweed soup?
Moreover, seaweed soup is easy to make, and she can't explain the source of its aroma. If people see how fragrant it is, they might suspect that she added some kind of flavoring agent!
This little shop will go out of business in less than two days, not even half a month.
