The dragon maiden pours wine, the fox dances, the elves play music, white mist fills the air, and celestial energy swirls around. Lush green lotus leaves float down the stream, and countless delicacies arrive on lotus blossoms. The waterfall cascades down, weaving a dense curtain of water. Upon closer inspection, one can smell a faint aroma of wine—the water flowing over the waterfall is not the magical lake water, but rather the sweet and refreshing Green Bamboo Wine.
Each boat is meticulously designed, with the sides slightly lower than the deck and only a little over three inches above the water. If guests fancy a particular dish, they can simply reach out and scoop it up with a lotus leaf. If they can't reach it, sea monsters with wagging tails will fetch it for them. It's incredibly convenient, allowing guests to grab whatever they want as they please.
"Sis! These dishes are still hot, it's amazing! How did you do that? And the peach blossoms here look just like the real thing!"
Xu Minian used his long arms to hook up a lotus flower with pan-fried rabbit on it, but soon he was surprised to find that the dish on the lotus leaf had not lost any temperature and looked as fresh as if it had just come out of the pot.
The family sat on the deck for their meal. The octagonal table was laden with delicacies freshly caught from the river. The dishes were plentiful and varied, including fresh fruits and vegetables and refreshing dishes. Even the wine cups were exquisitely crafted, each one translucent, like a lotus platform cast from crystal.
"You don't understand, do you? This is all high-tech, holographic technology. Look at these scenes, they're made to look just like the real thing. You should study hard in the future and try to get into Honghe Company. There are plenty of places there to broaden your horizons."
Liu Hongmei reached out and took the chopsticks Xu Milu handed her, her excitement still lingering.
"Oh dear, Dad, you have a sensitive stomach. Eat something first to line your stomach before eating meat, or you'll get a stomachache."
She and Liu Hongjun didn't even have time to eat; they were busy taking pictures like crazy. Peach blossoms, flowing water, waterfalls, giant turtles, fox spirits, sea monsters, elves... everything that could be captured in the frame was frozen in that small photo.
Of course, Sun Zhichun was just a tool for taking photos; Xu Milu guessed that his phone's memory was so full that it was about to explode and kill itself.
"Hey!"
Old Liu's eyes widened upon hearing this, and he began to argue with his daughter, somewhat unwilling to admit defeat:
"Do you really think I'm some old woman in my seventies or eighties who needs to be waited on? Da Mi has made so many medicinal meals to regulate my body. Now I'm more energetic than a seventeen or eighteen-year-old. Look at my hair, it grows a new clump every few days, and my teeth are so strong I can crack walnuts. Who wouldn't be envious?"
Xu Milu swallowed the meat in her mouth and nodded in agreement.
That's the truth. Ever since he started eating jujubes, Old Liu's health has improved day by day. Even his old ailments like rheumatism and hunchback have disappeared. His teeth are strong, and he can even chew on iron broad beans without any problem.
—Every time she went to the park to find Old Man Liu to go home for dinner, she would see her grandfather making a "crunching" sound with broad beans in his mouth, which made the other old men playing chess with him feel toothache.
Although the family was already used to the strange and wonderful things Xu Milu brought back, such as magical vegetables, household solar-powered flying machines, holographic projection TVs, apple grass pillows specifically for treating insomnia, fire-breathing chili peppers, durian-flavored dried earthworms, mud cakes from the Dwarf brand, seaweed mud beauty masks from the Siren brand, and so on, they still couldn't help but be shocked by such a miraculous sight.
"That's amazing! That's incredible, sis! Do you know how many likes our videos get when we post them online?!"
Hao Chen was so excited that he couldn't speak; even racking his brains, he couldn't find the right words to describe the scene before him.
"I know, this is Honghe Technology's new virtual world simulation scene! It must be! I didn't expect we'd be among the first! I knew it! With such an amazing scene design, Honghe Holographic Games' official website couldn't possibly not have a dedicated page for it. My review video is sure to go viral!! Wow! Look at those actors playing the fairies, they're all so dedicated!!"
After he said this, the whole family looked enlightened and nodded repeatedly.
"Yes, yes, I know that science and technology are really advanced now. It's just like Disney, where the characters are all played by actors!"
Eleven Sister leaned against the bow of the boat, half of her face covered by her sleeve, and smiled shyly. If anyone approached, she would mischievously reveal half of her furry fox face. Seeing that the guests were frightened, a group of fox girls would giggle.
"Oh my, look at that actress playing the mermaid, she's been in the water the whole time, it must be so hard for her."
—The siren, swishing their tails, weaved beneath the ship, their protruding fins resembling sails on a sailing vessel. Their graceful tails swirled, creating layers of splashing water. Nanako and Akai sat on a rock beside the waterfall, singing the Siren Song to the passing boats.
"And the actors playing elves are all so good-looking! Are they foreign celebrities?"
—Lola, holding a harp, sang softly, wearing a crown made of green olive branches on her head. Overland, dressed in warrior's clothes and carrying a bow, was drinking ale with the dwarves.
"I just saw someone dressed as the Black and White Impermanence, they must be staff members too, right?"
Liu Hongmei happily held up her phone, which showed a photo of her with the Black and White Impermanence figures sticking out their tongues, with the Ox-Head and Horse-Face figures laughing and raising their glasses in the background. Of course, this photo would definitely ward off evil spirits if hung on the wall.
On the black and white skull-adorned boat, a ghostly messenger with a red tongue lolling out exudes a sinister aura. The boat's hull is carved with patterns of a hundred ghosts moving mountains. A ghostly messenger with a bull's head laughs heartily, while a ghostly messenger with a horse's face spews out surging white mist from his nostrils.
