After eating a whole roasted rabbit the size of a whole sheep, Xu Milu could only sigh in vain, and had to save the pot of radish and rabbit soup for breakfast the next day.
For safety reasons, and to avoid waking up the next morning to find herself swallowed by some creature, Xu Milu decided to spend the night in a tree.
In this forest, everything is larger than its size. The vines, as thick as an arm, are very resilient. When you cut them down with a scimitar, you can use them together with the branches to build a platform between the branches. Cover it with a thick layer of fallen leaves, and it becomes a soft and comfortable natural bed.
Xu Milu stomped hard on the "tree bed" to make sure the vines wouldn't break suddenly, then took out the tent and set it up. She then pulled out the Fire Fox mask from the pile of junk and wrapped it around herself.
The fox fur automatically heated up, and as soon as Xu Milu covered herself with it, she felt a warm sensation. Looking down, she saw the ugly egg that she had forgotten about in the storage compartment for a long time roll out with a "gurgle".
"Is this thing really edible?"
Xu Milu muttered to herself, poking it with her finger and discovering that it was still radiating heat.
"How about we make some seaweed and egg drop soup for you tomorrow?"
Xu Milu hesitated, but in the end she didn't put the egg into the system slot. Instead, she covered it with a fox fur pelt as a hand warmer and fell into a deep sleep while holding it.

"Chirp chirp chirp—"
"Chirp chirp chirp—"
"Lili—"
A squirrel crouched under a tree trunk, munching on a huge, freshly fallen peach, its large tail twitching occasionally.
Birds of various colors spread their wings and darted through the forest, gracefully raising a trail of iridescent light.
The towering Lolo Pig uses its back to ram a mushroom two stories high. Once the target collapses, it rushes up and enjoys its meal with relish.
Butterflies as light as clouds fluttered about, and pink jellyfish-shaped mica swam freely. The dense forest in the early morning was full of vitality.
Xu Milu was awakened by birdsong. Several dark shadows were on the tent. She suddenly unzipped the tent and saw several large squirrels fleeing in panic, with a few fist-sized nuts left on the fallen leaves.
It seems that Xu Milu interrupted their breakfast time.
Xu Milu picked up one to examine it. The nut, about the size of an adult's fist, had a tough shell, with several places bitten open by a squirrel, revealing crisp white flesh.
"This is... a chestnut? It's really extra-large!"
The plants throughout the forest are gigantic, even the most common nuts are no exception.
Xu Milu put away the nuts, planning to look for them again today. She slowly climbed down the tree trunk, washed herself simply with water from the kettle, and then began to enjoy breakfast.
The soup stored in the system compartment was still steaming hot when it was taken out; a bowl of it was enough to start the day off right.
The radish chunks have been stewed thoroughly, exhibiting a translucent, jelly-like texture. When placed in the mouth with a little pressure, they melt completely, leaving no trace of any tough fibers.
The rabbit meat is tender and falls off the bone. The radish perfectly balances the fat in the meat, making it soft, juicy, and not dry or tough at all. Every bite is just right.
As for the rabbit soup, it is so delicious that no other seasonings are needed to enhance its flavor. The subtle spiciness of the radish combines with the richness of the rabbit meat, and all the essence is melted into this pot of soup. One sip and you will feel warm all over.
After a quick breakfast, Xu Milu decided to head deeper into the dense forest, while also keeping in mind the potential dangers lurking within.
If all the plants are larger, it means that the ferocious beasts are likely also larger.
...
...
"Crack."
Xu Milu climbed onto the tent, intending to pack it up, but unexpectedly heard a crisp sound under her feet, and then she remembered the unlucky egg.
"No way?? It's crushed??"
Xu Milu quickly lifted her foot, but there was no sticky egg liquid on the sole of her foot, only a few broken pieces of eggshell.
"quack!!"
A soft, delicate cry rang out in the tent. Xu Milu looked down through the broken turtle shell and saw a tiny turtle, no bigger than half a palm, nudging her shoe with its head.
"..."
Xu Milu pondered for a moment before voicing her question: "Why would a hairy egg hatch into... a turtle?"
"quack!!"
The baby turtle let out an angry cry.
...
...
Half an hour later, Xu Milu held the turtle that had hatched from the ugly egg and studied it carefully. Even the dimensional jumper did not have any information about this clown turtle.
【Unknown turtle species, toxicity unknown, capture level unknown.】
They knew absolutely nothing when asked.
The little turtle in her hand had a light blue shell, a slightly flattened green head, a tuft of "goatee" on its chin, and a pair of dark, beady eyes full of grievance. There were two bright red spots under its eyes, and its limbs were round and chubby, giving it a strangely cute appearance.
In short, it's "ugly-cute".
"Caw caw! Caw caw!"
As if it were hungry, the little turtle poked its head out and desperately tried to reach Xu Milu's fingers, looking extremely pitiful.
"The turtle can make noise??"
Xu Milu felt that her understanding had been refreshed once again, but she couldn't just watch the little turtle starve to death, so she resignedly climbed the tree, picked a large bunch of ping-pong grapes, and handed them to its mouth.
“...Gah.”
The little turtle tilted its head slightly, tentatively nudging the grapes, which were larger than its own body, with its head. After a couple of rummages, it opened its mouth and bit down, making a "crunch crunch" sound.
Soon, the entire clown turtle almost crawled into the hollowed-out ping-pong grape, and in no time its body was covered with a light purple juice.
"So you really are a vegetarian? It's good to be vegetarian, vegetarians are easy to feed."
Seeing that this creature was a vegetarian, Xu Milu felt slightly relieved. Since even the dimensional jumper couldn't identify it, she estimated that even the leader of the bear-mastiffs wouldn't know the origin of this egg.
She initially thought it was a giant black tortoise, but its appearance didn't quite seem like it.
Clown turtles are small in size, but have an enormous appetite; they ate food three times their own weight in no time.
After eating and drinking its fill, it looked up blankly and stared at Xu Milu's movements. Wherever she went, it slowly moved in that direction, its limbs flapping rapidly.
"quack!"
Xu Milu picked up the clown turtle, which slowly retracted into its shell, leaving only its pair of black bean eyes staring at her, looking both cowardly and fierce.
She didn't intend to abandon the baby turtle in this dangerous jungle. To be honest, the newborn turtle was far too small; even a passing dung beetle could kick it.
Xu Milu gathered up the miscellaneous items, cut off a piece of fox fur, tied it to her chest to make a simple pouch, and then put the clown turtle in the pouch.
The clown turtle seemed to sense the warmth, slowly poking its head out and staring intently at Xu Milu:
"Gah—"
"Stop yelling, we're about to leave."
Xu Milu flexed her wrists, confirmed her direction, and then quickly started running through the jungle.
