Chapter 77 Delicious Radish Feast (Part Two)

Xu Milu pushed open the glass door, and a rich aroma wafted out through the crack in the door. She was carrying a large thermos in her hand, while Sister Niu, a waitress in the store, followed behind carrying a bag of disposable paper cups.

"It's so cold, I'm really sorry to trouble you all. This is our shop's specialty, Shui Lan Tea. Have some to warm yourself up."

Xu Milu called out to the police officers, and Xiao Qi quickly reached out to take it, but was almost knocked to the ground by the force of the thermos.

Ha!

Goodness, that must weigh at least 70 or 80 pounds!

How did this girl manage to carry it without blushing or skipping a beat?

Xiao Qi suddenly began to question the meaning of life.

Old Wang quickly declined, saying, "No, no, this is just our duty. You're being too kind."

Xu Milu smiled:

"It was originally placed outside for everyone to take for free, it didn't take much effort. Uncle Wang, don't you recognize me? When my mom was selling breakfast before, there was a disturbance, and you were the one who brought people to handle it."

"You are...you are the eldest daughter of the owner of Hongmei Breakfast Shop, right? You've grown so much!"

Old Wang was somewhat surprised upon hearing this. He squinted and tried to recognize her, but he still couldn't connect the bright-eyed, tall girl in front of him with the thin, frail girl in his memory.

The difference is too big.

Xu Milu only managed to slip out of the kitchen when she saw that it was Lao Wang on duty.

Back when the breakfast stall was still open, the police officers from Nanqiao Police Station took good care of their family, buying them steamed buns and mantou every few days to eat when they went on night shifts.

It's been almost half a year since I last saw Lao Wang on duty.

"Hi! I was injured a while ago and stayed at home for half a year. I just got back to the station."

Old Wang helped place the aluminum insulation container on the table:

"So this rice and food shop is yours. No wonder the name sounds so similar to that Red Plum Breakfast Shop. Alright, don't be shy, just leave it here. I'll keep an eye on it for you, nothing will go wrong."

After Xu Milu left, Xiao Qi quickly came over, incredibly gossipy:

"Master, do you know the owner of this shop? I heard it's really expensive. They have those super grapes that were all the rage online a while ago. You can't find them anywhere else, but they're the only ones they have!"

Old Wang waved his hand:

"Go, go, go. We're working, stop chatting. Send a message to Xiao Ma and the others. When they get tired of their shifts, come over for a drink of water and a rest. We still have a lot to do today."

Just then, he finished the water in his thermos, so Lao Wang took the opportunity to fill a cup with hot tea from the thermos tap. As soon as the tea entered his mouth, he was a little stunned.

This tea is truly special.

This tea isn't made from tea leaves that's been steeped countless times in ordinary shops; it has a distinct orchid fragrance.

The diners waiting in line couldn't discern the subtleties of the tea, but they could taste its extraordinary qualities and exclaimed in delight:

"This tea smells so good!"

It smells really good.

The tea soup is clear and bright, with a warm, amber-like luster. At first, you can't taste much of the flavor, but the aftertaste is undeniably sweet, and your mouth and tongue are filled with a fragrance that is neither quite nor quite like orchids.

Old Wang smacked his lips, somewhat reluctant, and took small sips from his thermos.

...

...

Since the advent of the internet, nothing new is a secret anymore.

More and more diners from the same city heard the news, and the queue in front of the door looked like a bloated caterpillar. The number of people queuing up to take photos with the "super radish" only increased.

Xu Milu was cooking in the kitchen, and the iron spoon and wok in her hands were almost sparking.

Some diners originally came for the "super giant radish" gimmick, but once they entered the store, they saw that every table of customers was engrossed in eating, and they couldn't resist their cravings and ordered a basic set meal.

"Please enjoy your pan-fried radish cake, braised beef brisket with radish, stir-fried radish greens, and radish ball and vermicelli soup."

His gaze froze as soon as the food was served.

Golden-yellow pan-fried radish cakes, bright red braised beef brisket with radish, lush green stir-fried radish greens, and golden fried meatballs floating in a green and white vermicelli soup.

Even though it was just a simple home-cooked meal, he swallowed hard, completely losing his composure.

The pan-fried radish cake has a slightly yellowish surface, and both sides are slowly fried over low heat until crispy. You can taste the radish flavor very clearly with each bite. Mushroom and pork belly bits are mixed in with the chewy and soft cake, making every bite a surprise.

Braised beef brisket with radish is stewed in a broth made with stir-fried tomatoes, giving it a strong tomato flavor. The beef brisket is cut into bite-sized pieces, each coated with a rich sauce.

The radish chunks were incredibly soft and tender, without a trace of unpleasant fibrous texture. With a gentle press of the tongue, they would melt into a soft juice and roll down the throat.

Compared to radish cake, radish balls have a more pronounced meaty texture. They are deep-fried and then used to make soup. Although they lose their crispy texture, they absorb the soup well, and every bite is full of delicious flavor.

The radish greens were simply stir-fried without any extra seasoning. Take a bite, and your mouth will be filled with the tender and fresh flavor.

He couldn't resist the delicious food so much that he squinted his eyes and forgot all about the "super radish" and taking photos; all he could think about was the rice.

For a moment, the unusually quiet interior of the restaurant and the bustling long queue seemed like two worlds separated by a glass door.

Outside the door, there was jubilation and constant exclamations; inside, the person was beaming and quietly eating.

It's unbelievably bizarre.

...

...

As noon approached, the long queue in front of the door showed no signs of thinning, with some impatient diners practically clinging to the door and shouting inside:
