Chapter 32 Hiring a Chef

After his wife passed away, Old Liu lived with his son, Liu Hongjun. But as people get older, they are easily disliked. The old man often suffered mistreatment from his daughter-in-law.

Once, when Xu Milu went to visit her maternal grandfather, she saw Old Man Liu being scolded by his daughter-in-law like a grandson.

Old Liu was stubborn and inflexible, unwilling to cause any more trouble for his two daughters. He would never complain even when he was upset, and Liu Hongmei often argued with her brother about this.

Therefore, Xu Milu's request for the old man to come out of retirement was partly due to her own selfish motives.

Needless to say, he must have been upset by his daughter-in-law again.

Xu Milu was unhappy, but she held back for Liu Hongjun's sake. She placed the gift box on the coffee table and greeted Old Man Liu with a smile.

"Grandpa, I've come to see you. Why are you drinking alone here all by yourself?"

Old Liu never liked to talk about his difficulties in front of his grandchildren, so he mumbled something:

"I miss your grandma, I'm drinking."

Tian Meiling, feeling a little awkward, smoothed her hair behind her ear and tried to explain:

"I cooked today's meal, but it probably didn't suit the old man's taste."
