☆、Bonus: Belated New Year's Eve Dinner

"Aunt Jing! How can this fish still run away!"

Wen Yuming's wailing sound came from the kitchen of Qianyue Bay. Shu Wanning looked back with a hint of worry in her eyes, but it disappeared in a flash.

Wen Yuci stood at the kitchen door, looking at his brother in an apron, and silently put down the spatula in his hand.

"Wen Yuming, it's already three o'clock. Can we have dinner tonight?"

Wen Yuming glanced at the messy kitchen and the fish rolling and jumping on the ground, and nodded vigorously: "Yes! Absolutely!"

Shu Wanning shook his head silently. Since three days ago, the child had been clamoring to cook a New Year's Eve dinner by himself, but he was defeated by a fish before he even started.

Wen Yuci walked out of the kitchen and saw her expression and couldn't help but laugh: "He has learned to cook before, but he has never dared to cook fish."

"You won't help him?" Shu Wanning asked.

"Aunt Jing is here."

“Ah~da~ah~”

In the cradle, baby Xia Tian stretched out his little arms to grab the air, looked around with his big eyes, and grinned at Shu Wanning who was standing beside him.

Shu Wanning reached out and gently poked his belly, then smiled with a curved lip: "Why are you grinning like that? Do you remember helping your uncle stew fish?"

Upon hearing this, baby Xia Tian kicked his legs, as if to express his protest.

Suddenly there was a 'bang' sound from the kitchen. The two looked at each other, and saw suspicion and worry in each other's eyes.

Wen Yuci sighed and sat down beside the sofa. He looked at the colorful threads on the sofa and asked with confusion, "What are you going to do with all this colorful threads? Why don't you take a break?"

Shu Wanning showed him the drawing in her hand and said, "I think these knitted shoes are very beautiful. I want to try them."

"I'll help you."

As soon as Wen Yuci stood up, Shu Wanning shook her head and motioned him to sit down: "No, I'm just doing it for fun. If it doesn't work well, I'll buy a new one."

Life was peaceful in the living room, and in the kitchen where no one cared, the fish finally took a hot bath in the pot.

Aunt Jing wiped the countertop and smiled with satisfaction as she watched Wen Yuming skillfully cut the vegetables.

Smelling the aroma from the pot, she tiptoed out of the kitchen. Xiaomei couldn't help laughing at the door.

Xiaomei: "Aunt Jing, it's really not easy for you."

Wen Yuci went upstairs for a meeting. Shu Wanning studied the pattern drawing for a long time, but before she could knit the outline of the small shoes, she saw Wen Yuming walking out of the kitchen with flour on his hands.

Shu Wanning looked up at him and couldn't help but put down what he was doing and asked, "Do you need our help?"

"Okay!" Wen Yuming nodded: "Sister-in-law, please help me make dumplings. I have prepared everything else."

In the kitchen, Xiaomei forced Shu Wanning to put on an apron. After sitting on the chair, she took the dumpling wrappers handed to her by Wen Yuming.

She glanced at the dumplings beside her, and the corners of her lips moved slightly: "Hiss, Yuming, did you pack a car?"

Long and irregular.

Wen Yuming rubbed the flour on his hands guiltily and replied, "Sister-in-law, my skills are not very good. I will definitely be able to make it as beautiful as yours after practicing a few more times!"

Shu Wanning glanced at the mess of dumplings in her hand and put them aside guiltily.

She coughed lightly, her expression becoming somewhat unnatural: "You don't have to be like me."

Xiaomei, who had witnessed the entire process, slowly and tentatively extended her hand towards the two of them and said, "How about...let me do it?"

"no!"

"Need not!"

Two voices sounded at the same time. Xiaomei retracted her hand in fright, watched the two people struggling with the dumpling wrappers, and tiptoed out of the kitchen.

The door of the study upstairs was not closed. Wen Yuci heard footsteps and looked towards the door. He saw Xiaomei reaching out a hand and knocking on the door.

"Master, is your meeting over?"

"Two minutes left, what's going on?"

Hearing this, Xiaomei stood at the door of the study and whispered, "If you don't come downstairs, I'm afraid you won't be able to eat dumplings tonight and will have to drink meat soup instead."

The more she spoke, the more she wanted to laugh. She secretly looked up to see the expression of the person in front of her, and her head lowered lower and lower.

A smile appeared in Wen Yuci's eyes. He quickly stood up and went out, rolling up his sleeves as he went downstairs.

Seeing this, Xiaomei hurried forward and handed the apron to him.

In the kitchen, Shu Wanning was still struggling with the dumplings, with the aroma of stewed fish in the pot lingering in his nose.

Wen Yuci stood behind her, looking sideways at the much prettier dumplings in her hands and chuckled, "Mrs. Wen's dumplings are truly unique."

Upon hearing this, Shu Wanning turned around and glanced at him lightly. Although she didn't say anything, Wen Yuci clearly felt the obvious complaint.

He sat on a chair nearby, glanced at the mess of dumplings on the table, and raised his eyes slightly: "Xiaomei, cook these ugly things and feed them to August."

August: “Meow?” Who wants to poison me?

Xiaomei squatted down and patted its back to comfort it: "Don't be afraid, August, those dumplings are not poisonous, they are just a little ugly."

In the kitchen, Wen Yuming glanced at the dumplings in his brother's hand and blew his hair in frustration: "See, this is the gap between people."

Shu Wanning patted the flour on his hands, then stood up and patted Wen Yuci on the shoulder: "Come on, Mr. Wen~"

Aunt Jing silently boiled water and cooked dumplings. Shortly after Shu Wanning left the kitchen, Wen Yuming's voice was finally heard from the kitchen.

“It’s time to eat!”

Looking at the pitch-black sky outside, Wen Yuci sighed softly: "Eat now, or it will be dawn soon."
