☆, Chapter 28 Sister-in-law, please don’t be angry with my brother.

'Bang…'

Suddenly, the sound of fireworks exploding echoed outside, resounding through the sky. The two people were originally immersed in their own thoughts, but were interrupted by the sudden loud noise.

Shu Wanning straightened up, looked out the window, and murmured softly, "How sudden."

Wen Yuci: "Want to go out and take a look, Mrs. Wen?"

"OK."

Hearing her response, Wen Yuci immediately stood up, walked to the sofa, picked up the coats of both of them and handed them to her.

At the same time, the sound of fireworks became louder and louder, as if it was not far away. As the sound gradually approached, the two stepped out of the room and happened to see Wen Yuming lighting fireworks.

"Sister-in-law, sister-in-law!"

He trotted over to Shu Wanning and grinned at her: "Sister-in-law, I put this specially for you!"

Shu Wanning was a little confused by his words. Wen Yuming pointed at the people around her and said, "Sister-in-law, calm down and don't be angry with my brother!"

Wen Yuci pretended to kick him, but Shu Wanning reached out to stop him, and said with a slight curve of his lips: "Don't kick him, it's quite pretty."

"Are you still angry, sister-in-law?"

Shu Wanning shook his head. Wen Yuming proudly raised his chin towards Wen Yuci: "Hey, brother, learn from me!"

He ran away with the lighter, while Yan Hao continued to set up the fireworks. The two of them were busy in the yard.

Wen Yuci, who had been silent, reached into his pocket, took out a black velvet box, handed it to Shu Wanning, and said softly, "A gift of apology."

Shu Wanning took it, opened the box, and saw a pair of exquisite light blue diamond earrings. She closed the box and turned to look at him: "Mr. Wen has good taste."

"It suits you better."

"Thank you, Mr. Wen."

Shu Wanning held the box in her palm and slowly raised her head to look at the fireworks blooming in the sky just for her.

I don't know how to describe my feelings at the moment. These people, whom I have only known for a month, are all trying to please her based on her mood, while the Shu family is calculating her in every move.

Her eyelashes trembled slightly, perhaps because of the fireworks, and a line of tears flowed from the corner of her eyes, ran down her cheeks and buried in the collar of her coat.

Wen Yuci was looking at her with his head tilted to the side, the tear sliding past his eyes. The tip of her nose was red from the cold, and the corners of her eyes were wet, making her look like an abandoned deer.

He slowly raised his hand, placed his fingertips lightly against the corner of her wet eye, and caught the tear that was about to fall.

The warm touch made Shu Wanning dodge for a moment. She turned her head to look at him, and seemed to see the soft light in his eyes in the night.

"Why are you crying?" he asked.

"Cry yourself a little."

She curled up the corners of her lips, her smile not reaching her eyes. She raised her hand to wipe away the tears from the corners of her eyes, as if trying to prove that the tears just now were all fake.

Wen Yuming was still playing with the fairy wand. Seeing Shu Wanning staring at him, Wen Yuci reached out and asked Yan Hao for a few.

He took out a lighter from his pocket, lit it, pulled Shu Wanning's wrist through her clothes and put the sparkler into her hand.

He didn't say anything, but seemed to be comforting her with his actions, telling her not to cry.

Shu Wanning put the box in his hand into his pocket, gently waved the fairy wand with both hands, and watched the fireworks dancing in front of his eyes. His childhood dream came true at the age of 23.

The fairy wand in her hand burned out. She sniffed and put her hand back in her pocket, her fingertips curled up and she shivered with cold.

Wen Yuci: "Go back, otherwise you'll catch a cold easily."

Shu Wanning turned and left, and Wen Yuci followed her slowly, finally stopping when he saw her walk into the living room.

Wen Yuming followed him and ran to his side, saying as if to take credit: "Brother! I helped you coax your sister-in-law! Thank me now!"

Wen Yuci glanced at him with a smile: "Why don't you go and clean up the yard."

"Brother~"

In the room, Shu Wanning sat in front of the mirror, took out the pair of earrings and put them on her ears. They were small and exquisite. Wen Yuci had good taste.

Wen Yuci, completely unaware that he had received a compliment, sat in the study, with the amulet that Wen Yuming had asked for him and a photo of the two of them with their grandmother at his side.

Yan Hao stood aside and asked tentatively in a low voice, "What if Yang Man breaks up with you in the future? What about the young master..."

"I'll have a good talk with him."

He put the amulet into his pocket, looked up at Yan Hao and said, "Go check out Shu Wanning's childhood."

The next morning, Shu Wanning was washing up when she heard Xiaomei knocking on the door and calling her, "Madam, your father is here and he wants to see you about something important."

Shu Wanning wiped her face clean and responded, "I understand. Let him in first. I'll change my clothes."

She chose a brown long skirt from the closet, let her hair down casually, and when she went downstairs, Shu Min was sitting on the sofa drinking tea.

"Ningning, you're up."

He had a smile on his face. Shu Wanning sat on the sofa farthest from him, looked at him and asked, "What do you want from me?"

"Your sister's birthday is coming soon, and your family has prepared a birthday party for her. As her older sister, how can you not attend? Isn't that right?"

"I understand. I'll be back."

Shu Min didn't expect her to agree so readily. He had no room to maneuver his prepared words, and for a moment he felt a little embarrassed.

He laughed awkwardly twice and said again: "Since you are married, discuss it with Yu Ci and you two should go back together."

"Okay, I understand."

Shu Wanning yawned, looked at Shu Min and asked, "Is there anything else? If not, I'd like to sleep a little longer."

When Shu Min left, Shu Wanning stood at the door and watched. Xiaomei stood beside her. She suddenly asked, "Xiaomei, he is my adoptive father and has done me a favor. Am I being particularly heartless?"

Xiaomei: "I think you must have a reason for doing this."

Shu Wanning retracted his gaze, glanced at the empty living room, and asked, "Where's Wen Yuming?"

"Master Ming said he went out to play with his friends."

She nodded, and a smile appeared on the corner of her lips as she watched Shu Min leaving. If she hadn't heard the news from Wen Yuci, she would not have gone back to this birthday party.

The phone in his hand vibrated. Shu Wanning looked down at it, then put it away and said, "Pack two lunches. I want to go out for a while."

Shu Wanning chose a black coat from the closet and matched it with a brown plaid scarf. When she went downstairs, Xiaomei had already prepared lunch.

Xiaomei: "Where are you going, Madam? The car and driver are ready."

Shu Wanning: "Today I want to drive by myself."

Xiaomei nodded and took Shu Wanning into the basement. Standing at the door, she said, "Take your time to choose. The car keys are in the car."

There were quite a few cars in the garage, most of which were suitable for Wen Yuci. Her eyes swept over one car after another, and finally stopped in front of a white Panamera.

She looked at the navigation, drove out of the basement, and headed all the way to Wen's. While waiting for the red light on the road, she called Yan Hao.

At this moment, Yan Hao was standing in the office. After glancing at his phone, he pursed his lips to suppress his smile and whispered, "Boss, I'm going out for a while."
