☆, Chapter 3 is not important

Shu Wanning was still a little confused when she woke up. She only remembered that there was a power outage in the villa. Yan Hao explained the reason to her, but she had not yet fully digested this information when Wen Yuci entered the room.

Wen Yuci walked to the bed and sat down. He met Shu Wanning's gaze and spoke softly, "I'm sorry. I forgot you were in Li Garden for a moment and got you into trouble."

He wasn't wearing glasses, and his normally gentle appearance now looked a bit more aggressive.

Shu Wanning shook her head lightly, her tone calm: "It's okay."

Her face was much paler and more haggard than before. Out of guilt, Wen Yuci said softly, "I've implicated you in this matter. Your foot is injured. Come back with me to recuperate first. I'll take you back later."

"Where are you sending me back to?"

"Back to your rented apartment. I contacted your family, but..."

Before Wen Yuci finished speaking, Shu Wanning already understood what he meant. She nodded, her expression unchanged: "It's not important."

She looked at Wen Yuci and asked softly, "Am I not a hostage? Can I leave?"

"Okay, you're innocent and I won't accept this method of paying off the debt."

Shu Wanning nodded, but the stinging pain in the soles of her feet made her frown. "My foot injury was caused by stepping on broken glass after the power outage. It has nothing to do with the fire."

Seeing that she was determined to leave, Yan Hao, who had been silent all the time, finally spoke: "Ms. Shu, the doctor won't let you walk because of your foot injury. You should wait until your injury is healed before leaving."

Shu Wanning was silent for a moment, then nodded again: "Then I'll trouble you, Mr. Wen."

Wen Yuci stood up, stroked the wrinkles on his shirt and said, "Then you should rest first."

The door of the ward was closed. Shu Wanning turned her head to look at the stars outside the window. Unexpectedly, she was lucky enough to live again.

She remained in the same position for a long time without moving, until dawn. She finally twisted her stiff neck, lifted the quilt and stood up, but just as she sat up, the door of the ward was opened by Wen Yuci.

He didn't close the door and said, "Wait a moment, I'll find someone to help you."

"No……"

Shu Wanning had just said her refusal when Wen Yuci interrupted her: "Your foot is injured."

Helpless, she could only accept the nurse's help. When Shu Wanning returned to the bed, Yan Hao opened the door and pushed a wheelchair in his hand: "Ms. Shu, you can be discharged now."

He reached out to hug her, and Shu Wanning subconsciously shrank back, then quickly calmed down: "Trouble."

Yan Hao pushed the wheelchair out. Wen Yuci was waiting in the car at the hospital entrance. Shu Wanning, wearing a blue and white striped hospital gown, got in the car. He glanced at her and said calmly, "Most of your clothes were burned in the garden. I'll have someone send you new clothes today."

Shu Wanning nodded nonchalantly. Then, remembering something, she looked at Wen Yuci and asked, "Where's my computer? Is it still there?"

Wen Yuci looked at Yan Hao inquiringly, and Yan Hao nodded immediately: "Still there."

Hearing this, Shu Wanning breathed a sigh of relief. She yawned and leaned back in the chair. The car was driving very smoothly. She nodded her head. Wen Yuci was working on his phone, and a "dong" sound caught his attention.

He tilted his head and saw Shu Wanning rubbing her forehead which had hit the glass. Her eyelashes were drooping, and her butterfly-like eyelashes trembled slightly, which made people feel... pity.

Wen Yuci's lips curled slightly, and he said soothingly: "It's almost there."

Shu Wanning continued looking out the window and saw a courtyard in the distance, nestled in the tranquil world of the capital.

The high walls acted like a protective layer. As the car slowly drove into the courtyard, Shu Wanning discovered that there were white wooden fences on all sides, flowers planted along the walls, night lights beside the trees dotted in the courtyard, and there seemed to be fish rolling and jumping freely in the fountain in the center of the courtyard.

She looked up at the villa in the center of the courtyard, and all she could see were round arched windows, lawns, and stone paths.

She took a deep breath. Qianyue Bay, which was envied by everyone in the capital, was a place she had never paid attention to before, but now she was going to live in it.

Shu Wanning was pushed into the door by Yan Hao. The lobby was high in the sky, with gray marble floors, luxurious crystal chandeliers and various valuable decorations, which made the whole villa exude a solemn and romantic atmosphere.

It seems to fit the impression Wen Yuci gives people: gentle and polite, but only on the surface.

Originally, Shu Wanning thought that Liyuan was luxurious enough, but compared with here, it seemed insignificant.

Aunt Jing received the notice and rushed over early in the morning. As soon as Wen Yuci entered the door, she immediately offered him a hot towel to wipe his hands.

He turned to look at Shu Wanning and asked in a low voice, "Which floor do you want to live on?"

Glancing at the elevator not far away, Shu Wanning replied, "It's all right, just a corner."

She lowered her head, as if trying to reduce her presence. Wen Yuci frowned slightly and ordered, "Clean up the second floor."

"Okay, sir, do you need a meal?"

Wen Yuci nodded, and Yan Hao immediately pushed Shu Wanning's wheelchair to the dining table, a little close to Wen Yuci. Shu Wanning tugged at her clothes uncomfortably.

Wen Yuci glanced at Yan Hao who was about to leave, raised his hand and pointed at the chair: "Sit down and eat together."

He sat in the main seat, his shirt sleeves rolled up to reveal a section of his fair arms. Her eyes fell on his thick eyebrows and high nose bridge, and finally on his slightly doubled eyes.

His pupils were dark, and his gaze was always warm yet with overwhelming indifference.

She was lost in thought when Wen Yuci suddenly raised his eyes and met her gaze: "Ms. Shu, is there something written on my face?"

Shu Wanning shook her head and picked up the knife and fork beside her to prepare to eat. Her eyes were drooping, her nose was high, her thin lips were very pale, and she looked sickly, as if there was no life in her body.

Suddenly, Aunt Jing placed a bowl of food next to Shu Wanning's hand and said with concern, "Miss Shu, I made you some soup to replenish your qi and blood."

"Thanks."

Aunt Jing shook her head. She had noticed that Shu Wanning was a little weak when they were in Liyuan before. This time, her face was so pale that it was scary.

Yan Hao left the restaurant quietly. Shu Wanning lowered her head and drank lotus seed soup. Wen Yuci raised his eyelids and looked at her a few more times.

Suddenly he thought of the information he had seen before. To verify it, he asked softly, "Ms. Shu, is she an orphan?"

Shu Wanning put down the spoon, tilted her head to look at him, and nodded in response: "Yeah."

There was no emotion in her eyes, but there was still sadness in her brows.

Wen Yuci's fingertips tapped lightly on his legs. After a moment, he suddenly asked, "Have you ever thought about finding your family?"

Shu Wanning continued to look at him. For a moment, the corners of her eyes, which were originally upturned, became even more raised, making her double eyelids, which were not wide to begin with, appear even more obvious.

Seeing her confusion, Wen Yuci explained, "Consider it as compensation for getting you into trouble."

"No need." Shu Wanning interrupted, "Since I'm already the one being abandoned, there's no need to disturb others' peaceful lives."

The atmosphere suddenly turned cold. Shu Wanning gently placed the empty bowl of lotus seed soup on the table, nodded slightly, and moved away in his wheelchair with clumsy movements.

Wen Yuci likes quietness. There are no servants in the restaurant, and Shu Wanning's wheelchair is stuck at the door and she can't get out.

She kept turning the wheelchair. Wen Yuci shook his head, stood up and pushed her out. He strode past her and looked back at her as he walked up the stairs: "You can come to me if you need anything."

In the room on the second floor, Shu Wanning moved onto the bed with difficulty, looked at the autumn scenery outside the window, lowered her eyelashes, and lifted the quilt to wrap herself up.
